This course will introduce the elementary two-dimensional commands and concepts of AutoCAD. No textbook is required for this class. Uponcompletion, students will gain familiarity and comfort with AutoCAD dialogue boxes, ribbons, icons, menus and command entries. They will be able tocreate and edit drawings and will have a solid understanding of the draw, modify and annotate commands. Common layer commands and basic printingwill be introduced in this class. The 156-hour Medical Billing Specialist hybrid program provides a foundation in medical billing and medical administrative support functions. Learnthe customer service skills as well as the support functions needed by medical front offices. It is worth noting that the College works closely withMontgomery County employers to recruit directly from the program.

Training in basic claims processes for medical insurance and third party reimbursements is provided. Our program includes an introduction to medicalterminology, CPT4 and ICD10 coding and the standard techniques for Electronic Health Records (EHR) is taught. As a newly approved Host Training Organization for the Mid-Atlantic OSHA Training Institute Education Center, Montgomery County Community Collegeis allowed to host OSHA standards and Outreach Training Program trainer and update courses for local businesses. Additionally, they can also hosttraining courses on recordkeeping, machine guarding, confined space entry, electrical standards, and fall arrest systems. Having exposure to OSHAstandards along with knowledge and understanding of the regulations will help employees perform on-site safety inspections and enable them todevelop compliance programs and implement corrective actions, when necessary.

GAS D ISTRIBUT ION P IPEL INE MECHANIC (COMING SOON)

Learn to install and maintain pipelines for natural gas distribution systems for residential, commercial and industrial customers. This hands-on courseincludes classroom training and 50 hours for operator qualification. Demand is increasing regionally for skilled labor in the natural gas distributionindustry. Through this program, you will be prepared for entry-level employment and potentially high-paying union jobs in only 11 weeks.

This course includes OSHA 10 Certification and a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) training. Local utility subcontractors support and participate in theprogram, and two of the employers supporting this program pay $26/hour to start.

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the annual mean wage for this field is $64,820.

Refund Policy

If a student officially drops or withdraws from a workforce development/continuing education class prior to the start of the first class session, a 100%refund will be made. No refunds are generally made after the course begins. Fees for non-credit books, materials and supplies are not refundable.Exceptions are for programs eligible for financial aid, (the Municipal Police Academy and Massage Therapy). Those courses follow the College’s creditpolicy for non-standard length classes. Exceptions are referred to the Tuition Refund Appeals Committee for review.
