Analysis of open end shell extrude cylinderDimensionsDiameter D=300mmThickness t=10mmLength L=1000mm

Material propertiesGlass fiber reinforced polymer cylinderEx = 45000Mpa :E1Ey =12000Mpa :=E2 and E3Es = 5500Mpa :G12, G13, G23Nu = .2 :nu1, nu2, n3

Force is pressure force applied internally of 1N.

4 layer layup4 layered layup is takenFirst a 25/-25/-25/25 is takenThen 0/90/90/0 is taken

Boundary Condition appliedOne case is analyzed with end cylinder boundary condition in which u3,ur1,ur2,ur3 are taken zero.The other case is analyzed with the above condition taken on the surface.Other case is analyzed by taking the only U3, UR3 zero.

ResultsDeformed shapesBoth End boundary condition and surface boundary conditions give same deformation.

With U3 and UR3 only zero.

When all the moments are restricted the cylinder only expands and there is no moment effect left while in the second case the results are different due to the moment effects.

PlotsS11 and S22 plot0/90/90/0 layup

S11 and S22 plot25/-25/-25/25 layup

Both the plots shows that the 2nd layup sequence is better than the first layup sequence.
