Comparison codes by default match the incoming service/AFP codes. Comparison Codes allow you to map unique service codes to more common user-defined service codes. Custom Comparison Codes helps normalize service codes within a bank and across banks. Custom Comparison Codes can be used to compare slightly different service definitions from bank to bank. Proprietary and Confidential Effects on Queries/Reporting When no Comparison Code is shown for a service charge and a user limits the results based on a selected Comparison Code or Family, this item will not be included in any query or report. When inaccuracies arise, users should confirm Comparison Codes are assigned. Chesapeake System Solutions, Inc. Proprietary and Confidential Examples: Unidentified Service Charges in Monthly Summary Statistics Report When a user see Unidentified listed in the Service Charge Statistics tab of the Monthly Summary statistics Report, this is due to the possibility of two issues. No comparison code is shown for a service fee. This can be caused by an Unexpected Service Charge discrepancy that has not been auto resolved. If the charge has not been resolved there is no comparison code shown for the fee. No comparison code is shown for a service fee due to a Missing Account discrepancy. Until an account is validated and Auto Resolved, comparison codes are not assigned. Proprietary and Confidential Blank Comparison Codes within Fee Query When blank comparison codes are noted in the fee query, check to confirm all Unexpected Service discrepancies have been resolved in the Discrepancy Query. These missing comparison codes can effect reporting and What-If.
