interview with... lana del rey
Considering your female audience, do you feel any pressure to be a role model?
Lana: Well I think the good thing is, I do actually aim to live my life with grace and dignity. I really don’t like to be in trouble. I like to live a good life, it is important to me.
At a certain point, though, doesn’t your act become performance art?
Lana: Well it’s kind of be-come that. When the audi-ence gets bigger, it becomes less for you and more of a per-formance, even though I’m not really a natural performer.
Speaking of, are you working on any new music right now?
Lana: I was until my record got leaked last week, ‘cause my life is like completely in-vaded. But yeah, I’m writing songs that I really like right now.
Are you going to move for-ward, or do you feel too discouraged because of the leaks?
Lana: I do feel discouraged, yeah. I don’t really know what to put on the record. But I guess I could just put them on and see what happens.
That’s a lot of pressure to put on yourself. how do you han-dle it?
Lana: That’s the way I kind of do it, which means I don’t write all
-ing. Sometimes it’s six months. I
Do you feel like where your life is at right now is more conducive to writing music than before?
Lana: I don’t think it’s been conducive to writing, be-ing on the road and all that.
You could work with outside songwriters. Are you open to that kind of thing a bit more now?
Lana: Yeah, I’m more open to it now, ‘cause personally I’m not really feeling it. (Laughs) Like this guy I worked with eight years ago, Steven
cord He knew me really well.
Did you write “Young and Beautiful” specifically for The Great Gatsby soundtrack, or was that a song you had previously penned but not released?
Lana: I wrote a different song, but when Baz Luhrmann heard it, he asked me if I could I write a memory cue for Daisy. So I sang him a chorus of “Young and Beautiful” that I had already — just a chorus — and he thought that’d be good for her.

NEW ALBUMSyou need to heard this
The new album will feature eight brand new recordings. A Deluxe Edition of XSCAPE will include a selection of the re-cordings in their original form. The title of this album honors Michael’s album naming process. He always chose a song from the album to name his projects and, beginning with THRILLER, used only one word titles, each with an edgy quality to them. This is true of the new project.
Just three years after the Black Keys released their heav-ily worn platinum album El Camino, the band is back with their newest record Turn Blue.In true Black Keys fashion, the album offers plenty of gritty blues and self-indulgent gui-tar solos, but with a refreshingly genuine approach. Released on May 12, 2014 under Nonesuch Records, the unique collection is already winning critics over.
Glorious is the debut studio album by English singer and songwriter Foxes, due for release on 28 February 2014. The album is available in three versions; the standard album, a deluxe version, and a limited edition vinyl. The track list features new songs, as well as two
Warrior (2012) (“In Her Arms” and “White Coats”). Very recomended, especially for the girls.
Monkeys. It was produced by James Ford and co-produced by Ross Orton at Sage & Sound Recording in Los Angeles and Rancho De La Luna in Joshua Tree, California, and released in September 2013 through Domino. The album was promoted by the singles: “R U Mine?”, “Do I Wanna Know?”, “Why’d You Only Call Me When You’re High?”, “One for the Road” and “Snap Out of It”. It features guest appearances by Josh Homme, Bill Ryder-Jones and Pete Thomas. The album received critical acclaim from music critics and featured in many end of year lists as one of the best of 2013. The album draws inspiration from various musical genres, including psychedelic rock, blues rock, hard rock, heavy metal, desert rock.

bum by British rock band Coldplay and was
released by Parlophone on 16 May 2014. Ghost
Stories, partly inspired by lead singer Chris
Martin’s troubled relationship with Gwyneth
Paltrow at the time of the album’s record
ing, is a concept album that tells the story of
a man going through a dramatic and sud
den breakup, with the narrative following
the man’s various emotional states leading up
to his eventual acceptance of the situation.

The Michael Jackson performance on the 2014 Billboard Music Awards was the result of
-
ment of new technology. Producers of the Billboard Music Awards did not see even a por-
16 dancers live onstage. Jackson appeared in gold jacket, white T-shirt and brick red trou-
sers on a set modeled on the art work for the album “Dangerous,” an appropriate choice
as the track was recorded in 1991 with L.A. Reid and Babyface during the sessions for that
album. Released this week on “XSCAPE,” which is neck-and-neck with the new Black Keys
album for No. 1 on the Billboard 200 next week, the track was produced by Timbaland.

BBMA producers built a special stage at the rear of the MGM Grand Arena that was used only for the Jackson performance. Dancers moved through aisles as Jackson was seen rising from a throne, walking down steps before going into several trademark routines, a moonwalk being one of the them.

While capping off an incredible comeback year by accepting the Top Artist award at the 2014
Billboard Music Awards, Justin Timberlake made a point to clown on disgraced Los Angeles Clip
comments and was subsequently banned from the NBA for life. “I want to thank everyone on
Earth… except Donald Sterling,” Timberlake deadpanned, before walking off camera. This and

(CNN) -- Forget the cloud, and rework your
mental image of those mysterious data centers.
Sony has reinvented a tool for storing a mind-
numbing amount of data: A cassette tape.
But this isn’t one of those rattling plastic tapes you used
to compile your ultimate summer road-trip songs
and were probably forced to rewind with a pencil.
Sony’s record-breaking magnetic micro tape tech-
nology allows it to store 180 terabytes of data on
a single cartridge. That’s the same amount of
storage as 1,184 iPod Classics, Apple’s roomiest
music player, which can hold about 40,000 songs.
Using that number, Sony’s new cassette could
technically store about 47.3 million songs of its own.
That’s enough jams for a really long road
trip, driving in Atlanta during a snowstorm.
If you’re more of a movie buff, think of it this way. The
cartridge, which stores 148GB of data per inch of tape,
has room for 3,700 Blu-ray discs full of your favorites.
The number obliterates the standing best
record, set in 2010 when Fuji developed a
tape that could hold 35 terabytes of data.
Sony, which worked with IBM on the tape,
presented the new technology over the
weekend at InterMag Europe, a mag
netics conference in Dresden, Germany.
