Soli Deo Gloria To God Alone Be The Glory

1 Corinthians 10:23-11:1

• God does not exist to make you happy.

• God is the central reality in the universe.

• "All things are from him and through him and to him, to him be glory for ever" (Romans 11:36)

• "All things exist for him and by him" (Hebrews 2:10).

• Humanity was created to bring glory to God

• I will say to the north, ‘Give them up!’ and to the south, ‘Do not hold them back.’ Bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the ends of the earth—everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made.” Isaiah 43:6,7

• 1 Corinthians 10:31 So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.

• God is most glorified in us when

we are most satisfied in Him

• Common sense tells us if we know what a thing is designed to do its best used for that purpose

• If its true that God created humanity to bring himself glory then our entire purpose is glorifying him

How Do We Glorify God?• Matthew 22:37,38 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your

God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment.

• Romans 4:18-25 Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him, “So shall your offspring be.” Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was as good as dead—since he was about a hundred years old—and that Sarah’s womb was also dead. et he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised. This is why “it was credited to him as righteousness.” The words “it was credited to him” were written not for him alone, but also for us, to whom God will credit righteousness—for us who believe in him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead. He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.

How Do We Glorify God?• Psalm 50:23 “Those who sacrifice thank offerings

honor me, and to the blameless I will show my salvation.”

• Matthew 5:16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

How Do We Glorify God?• Who glorify God’s awesomeness, majesty, and beauty

by loving Him with all that we are and loving those He created

• We glorify God’s power by trusting Him to take care of all the troubles in our life

• We glorify God’s grace, goodness, and generosity by overflowing with thankfulness

• We glorify God’s wisdom by obeying His commands
