KL-Kuala Selangor Expressway Berhad (KLSEB)moved one step forward in ensuring theprogress of its KL-Kuala Selangor Expressway(LATAR) by recruiting new staff in the two dayswalk-in-interview at Pejabat Tenaga Kerja KualaSelangor. Held on 26 and 27 March 2011,various positions were up for grabs such as tollteller, plaza supervisor, controller and patrolmanwhich resulted in an encouraging turn up fromthe job seekers. A total of 240 job seekers turnedup and 104 were approved for recruitment.Additional interview session was held to recruitmore toll teller and plaza supervisor on 21 April2011 located at Rawang.

UNIVERSITI MALAYSIA SABAH (UMS) COMPLETED AHEADOF SCHEDULE BY THREE MONTHS By Tai Khyun Leong

MINISTER IN THE PRIME MINISTER’S DEPARTMENTTAN SRI NOR MOHAMED YAKCOP VISITED UiTMPROJECT

Bina Puri once again maintains its track recordby completing Universiti Malaysia Sabah projectthree months ahead of schedule for Section 1and two weeks ahead of schedule for Section 2.

Congratulations to the project team led by theproject manager, Mr Tai Khyun Leong. It is indeeda reflection of teamwork, good projectmanagement and hardwork by everyone in theteam.

The project with the contract value ofRM161.6mil commenced on 17th November2008 for Section 1 and on 16 April 2009 forSection 2.

Section 1 involved the construction of apostgraduate studies building, an auditorium, acafeteria and other ancillary buildings.Meanwhile, Section 2 involved the constructionof an academic services building and two lecturehalls.

THE NEW SABAH STATE ADMINISTRATIVE CENTRE(PHASE 1)

New Project secured! Congratulations, Bina PuriSdn Bhd has been awarded a project from theSabah State Government worth RM388.7million. The project is to undertake theconstruction of the Sabah State AdministrativeCentre (Phase 1) located at Likas Bay, KotaKinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia.

The project entails the construction of a 30-storey office tower and 2 blocks of 9-storey

buildings. Construction will commence in August2011 and is expected to be completed in 30months.

The new Sabah State Administrative Centre islocated in the vicinity of Sabah’s prominentlandmark, the Sabah Foundation Building. Thenew Sabah State Administrative Centre covers a15 acre land site along the shoreline overlookingthe South China Sea. This integrated facility

includes a 30-storey office tower, making it oneof the tallest structures in Sabah. This tower willalso house the Sabah Chief Minister’s officetogether with his cabinet members.

This is indeed another achievement of Bina Puriespecially in Sabah. We shall continue to securemore contracts in the future.

Bina Puri Sports & Social Club (KSSBP) organiseda fishing tournament for the club’s members on24th April 2011 (Sunday) at Rawang, Selangor.About 40 members participated in thecompetition. The champion was Pn. Noor FaizahBinti Abdullah with a catch of a single fish thatweighed at 1.6kg while the 1st runner-up wasEn. Rosdi Bin Yeob (1.55kg) and the 3rd runner-up was Pn. Ayuny Abd Rahman (1.45 kg). This isa yearly competition that always receivesoverwhelming response from its members.

Bina Puri Sports & Social Club (KSSBP) will beorganizing more activities for its members.Among the activities proposed were to organiseoverseas and local trips, more sport competitionamong staff such as paintball, fishing, futsal andothers, as well as treasure hunt and donationdrives. At the same time, the on-going weeklyactivities are to be maintained, such asbadminton practice, line dance and yoga.

These were among the suggestions by the clubmembers during the KSSBP 16th Annual GeneralMeeting held on 30th March 2011 at Bina Puriheadquarters in Selayang, Selangor.

With more than 600 members, KSSBP is now theright medium for the Bina Puri staff to relax, have fun, release stress and have a peace ofmind after working hours. More importantly, thesenior management always gives highcommitment and support to ensure the club runsactivities that benefits the staff at large.

Among those who attended the AGM were theclub’s advisor Senator Tan Sri Datuk Tee HockSeng JP, the club president Mr. Lee Tong Leong,the vice president Mr. Chat Pak Ken andapproximately 150 club members.

A futsal tournament was organised by KSSBP for its club members. The tournament was held on 8th May 2011 at Segambut, Selangor with atotal of 8 teams participating to win the first prize of cash RM700 andtrophies.

KSKSLI organised an exciting ‘Quarry Race’ onSunday 17th April 2011. Five teams had shownsupport and competed in the race. Sweat!Sweat! Sweat! It’s a challenge to finish 5 tasksi.e. Fun Skipping, Stacking Bricks, Scoop-InScoop-Out, Counting and Treasure Hunt.
