Society of Exploration Geophysicists International Exposition and Eightieth Annual Meeting

Dear Potential Exhibitor:

As co-chairmen of the SEG’s 15th International Showcase, we invite you to join us as an exhibitor in the world’s most spectacular oil, energy, and mineral exposition—the 2010 SEG International Exposition and Eightieth Meeting in spectacular Denver, Colorado, USA (http://meeting.seg.org/). The International Showcase, this year focusing on the former Soviet Union (FSU) and Europe region, is an invaluable opportunity to present your organization’s or country’s petroleum, gas, and mineral potential to almost 10,000 exploration professionals!

As an exhibitor, you have the option of leasing a booth in the International Showcase, or you may apply for a grant. Grants include fi nancial assistance for airfare, registration for two full delegates, one double-occupancy hotel room for six nights, and a booth in the Showcase. An Exhibition Space Application and Contract is included in the brochure.

SEG currently has more than 32,000 members in more than 138 countries and is rapidly increasing in size every year! By choosing to exhibit in the International Showcase, your company will be exposed to geophysical professionals spanning the globe. This is a pivotal opportunity for building partnerships and alliances with geoscientists. Inserted into this brochure are past global exhibitors that have taken advantage of the abundant resources available to International Showcase exhibitors.

Experience “FSU and Europe: Unite in Denver!” The Global Theater is located next to the International Showcase and will host a series of presentations from speakers focusing on topics to depict the theme for 2010: “FSU and Europe: Unite in Denver.” These speakers will represent national and international companies located in countries in North America, the Former Soviet Union and throughout Europe. Presentations will include geophysical topics such as unconventional reservoirs (tight sands and shales), near surface statics corrections due to large heterogeneities, multicomponent seismic and imaging challenges. The Showcase will also host a program to depict business practices and technical issues that are unique to the geophysical area.

Our goal is to include and encourage companies and government agencies from across the globe to participate in the International Showcase while emphasizing the FSU and European countries. Please take a moment to scan through our International Showcase exhibition prospectus to determine if your company meets eligibility requirements to apply for a grant. Please complete and return your application form by the DEADLINE of 15 May in order to secure your opportunity to exhibit with the International Showcase at SEG in Denver!

◗ Application Guidelines for Exhibitors Participation Criteria:

1. Oil and gas company, or energy ministry promoting hydrocarbon or mineral exploration opportunities or engineering or environmental geosciences applications in country

2. Government agency, research institute or university presenting new, innovative geosciences technologies and policies including engineering, geohazards, and environment developed within the past fi ve years.

3. Geophysical organization or society, especially from Europe and FSU, presenting activities among companies and universities, or promoting best practices between neighboring societies and government agencies and geophysical training.

◗Exhibition Booth: Booth space will measure 3m x 3m (10 ft x 10 ft) and will be furnished with one 2m (6 ft) draped table, two chairs, and an identifi cation sign. Each participating company will receive mention in the Offi cial Program and Exhibitors Directory that is distributed to all delegates. To ensure a successful SEG Experience, the International Showcase recommends:• Developing a clear and concise statement of your goals at the International Showcase.

For example: What information do you fi nd important for your international peers to learn about your organization and country? What opportunities are you bringing to the geosciences community?

• Designing your exhibit to support your goal statement with uncluttered, attractive, and information maps, cross-sections, seismic displays, etc.

•Providing literature and contact information in English•Ensuring you have suffi cient personnel to operate your booth during convention hours.•Have an oral presentation prepared for your visitors.

Also, a PowerPoint Presentation (limited to three slides) may be given to the committee to run in the Global Theater when there is no scheduled speaker. The presentation is meant to draw viewers into the exhibitors’ booths for more information and should be professional and creative.
