The flow of masses which has ultimately overflowed the most sprawling ground in the national capital was in fact countless. For Popular Front which has convened very big conferences in southern states in the past, Delhi conference was a challenge. Even well wishers gave warning of a cold response that is the tradition of the capital city dwellers. But the people reached Ramlila ground in the bright Sunday morning of 27th November 2011 from various parts of Delhi and adjoining states of U P, Haryana and Rajasthan added a new lesson to history that a right message when honestly campaigned could move the people accordingly. The sight of people coming to the conference in groups waiving the Popular Front tri-color and shouting slogan of “Popular Front Zindabad, Samaji Insaaf Conference Zindabad” was not an end itself, but the beginning of a change, the birth of a people's movement to build this nation on justice. Though the target audience was from Delhi and surroundings, delegates from all states from far east Manipur to far south Tamil Nadu reached Delhi travelling many days just to witness the conference which had ignited in them the hope of a dignified future. As the conference began the tiredness was replaces by great energy which illuminated the Ram Lila Maidan. The eager faces of the people listening to the speeches displayed a show of courage, commitment and determination to bring a social change. The Social Justice Conference was inaugurated on 26th November 2011, 9:30 AM by the Chairman of Popular Front, E.M. Rahiman by hoisting the Popular Front flag in presence of the National Executive Council members and other delegates. The first programme of the conference was a Milli convention on the theme “Together for Empowerment: Dialogue with future” which was followed by a National Seminar “ People's right to Justice”. A cultural programme portraying Indian heritage was held in the evening. Similarly one of the highlights and most attracting feature of the conference was the exhibition “Naya Kadam”. A mammoth gathering started entering the Ramlila Maidan on 27th November morning. As the day progressed the venue was full of people from different states all waiting for the Grand Public Meeting to begin. It began at 1 PM with the Unity Song. It was indeed an unforgettable scene when thousands of people standing in respect for the unity song with the verses “ Sare Jahan se Acchaa Hindusthan hamara” on their lips. The chairman of Popular Front of India, E.M. Abdul Rahiman delivered the presidential address. It was followed by thought provoking speeches by prominent activist, orators and leaders. The eyes of the masses who attended the Social Justice Conference were full of happiness to see the success of the conference. It was a festival which doesn't seem to end even as sun began to set. The masses showed their determination to be with Popular Front in all future struggles. The confidence of masses won by Popular Front was one of the prominent achievements of the conference. Popular Front of India which was not very familiar in the northern states has now reached each and every nook and corner of the country. The Delhi Declaration that was the concluding resolution of the Conference has called upon the people to move forward for realization of social justice and reiterated the determination of Popular Front of India to be in the forefront of that movement for social change.
