transported commercially or exhibited

to the public.

Originally passed in 1966, but revised

numerous times. Most recent revision

was in 2008.

and water, protection from

temperature extremes, shelter

from outdoor elements,

sanitation and record keeping

Health Research

Extension Act Passed in 1985

Covers all vertebrates-including mice,

rats and birds- used in research,

testing, and education if the work is

funded by the Public Health Service
