The SDM [Social Dreaming Matrix] is a place ‘outside of the goal orientated configurations experienced in daily life’ yet can offer us an alternative way of thinking about and experiencing life. It brings us nearer to finding ‘the unconscious inner voice of humanity present in the dream thoughts’. One dream is offered, perhaps another, and then another. Then free associations begin to flow. The focus is not on “What does the dream mean for me?” but on “What does this dream mean for our social life?" The Dream is a metaphor of reality as it is experienced. The Social Dreaming Matrix exists to explore and, possibly, find what this metaphor stands for. From The Creativity of Social Dreaming, Ed Gordon Lawrence (2010). About Social Dreaming: In Dreaming, connections between experiences of the day and life often link in diverse, unexpected and

surprising ways. In Social Dreaming the focus is not on the individual dreamers themselves but on the knowledge and thinking of the dream. The focus is not on “What does the dream mean for me?” but on “What does this dream mean for our social life?"The Dream is a metaphor of reality as it is experienced. The Social Dreaming Matrix exists to explore and, possibly, find what this metaphor stands for.

From The Creativity of Social Dreaming, Ed Gordon Lawrence (2010).

The social dreaming matrix will be for one and half hours with a follow up reflecting on the process
