I have been a big fan of animated movies and since I was child I have be told by my parents to watch a few amazing animated movies. It is my personal enjoyment to write this essay as I was a big fan of it. From what I have discovered for the past few year since I was a child, animated movies are usually used for kids entertainment for example Walt Disney is using animation to create Disney characters. The two movies that I am going to compare is ‘Snow white and the seven dwarfs’ and ‘sleeping beauty’. Both of these movies are produced by Walt Disney and it is my interest to write this comparison similiraties essay since I am a big fan of Disney.

The first similarities between these movies are the fact that both of the main characters have been cursed by evil. A jealous evil queen orders her Hunters to take Snow White into the forest and murder her. She further demands that the hunters return with Snow White's heart in treasure box as proof of the deed. However, the Hunters cannot bring himself to kill Snow White. The Queen then decided to tricks Snow White to eat the poisoned apple. As Snow White falls asleep the Queen claims that she will be the fairest of the land. The dwarfs return to their cottage and find Snow White seemingly dead, being kept in a deathlike slumber by the potion. In the other movie ‘sleeping beauty’ Maleficent curses Aurora, claiming that Aurora will grow in grace and beauty, but before the sun sets on her sixteenth birthday, she will put her finger on the spindle of a spinning wheel and die. After the evil witch leaves, merry weather uses her blessing to change the curse so that instead of dying Aurora fell asleep until she gets her true loves kiss.

Moreover, both of the movies have a scene when both main characters faced a near-death experience. As Snow White falls asleep the Queen claims that she will be the fairest of the land. The dwarfs return with the animals as the Queen leaves the cottage and give chase, trapping her on a cliff. She tries to roll a big rock over them but before she can do so, lightning strikes the cliff, causing her to fall to her death, with the boulder falling after her. A prince, fallen in love with Snow White kisses her, which breaks the curse and awakens her from a near death sleep. While in the ‘sleeping beauty’ movie Aurora will fall into a deathlike sleep from which she can only be awakened by true love's first kiss. Then after she grew up together with the three good fairies called Flora, Fauna, and Merry weather then there is conflict between prince Philips and maleficent. Where Philips will face a forest of thorns then Maleficent transforms into an aggressive dragon to battle the prince herself. The battle continues on a hill, where Phillip loses his shield. Ultimately, Phillip throws his sharp sword, blessed by the three fairies’ magic, directly into Maleficents heart, causing her to fall to her death . At the top of the castle he finds Aurora, his one true love, still in the death-like sleep. He awakens Aurora with true love's first kiss, finally breaking the curse and waking up everyone in the palace.

Next, both Snow White and Sleeping beauty have the same family loving surroundings. In Snow White the seven dwarfs enjoyed the presence of Snow White because she can cook and clean beautifully. Snow White keeps house for the dwarfs while they mine for jewels during the day, and at night they all sing, play music and dance. The dwarf’s watches after Snow White from the beginning of the movie until then end because they believe Snow White have shown the meaning of family. On the other hand, Aurora grew up surrounded with the three good fairies. The fairies don't believe that will be enough to keep Aurora safe, and so they spirit baby Aurora away to a woodcutter's cottage in the forest until the day of her sixteenth birthday. Years later, Aurora has grown up into a beautiful and young teenage girl.

On the day of her sixteenth birthday, the three fairies ask Rose to gather berries in the forest so they can prepare a surprise party for her.

Other similarities in these two movies are both main characters fall in love with a prince. In the movie ‘sleeping beauty’ ,when Aurora is in the forest picking a few berries while the fairies were preparing a surprise party the she was attracted by the attention of Prince Phillip a handsome young man, simply dressed as a hunter. They instantly fall in love, unaware of being betrothed years ago. Aurora asks Phillip to come to her cottage that evening to be introduced to the fairies. In the movie ‘Snow white’ a prince, who had previously met and fallen in love with Snow White, learns of her eternal sleep and visits her coffin. Snow White fall in love with the princess before she visited the seven dwarfs. Until one day the prince returned to Snow White after looking for Snow White from far away. The prince then kissed Snow White to remove the curse and took Snow White back to his castle.

The final similarities between the two movies are both of movies prince and princess loves to sing. In snow white movie, snow white sings with a few birds, reindeers, rabbits and many more. Then snow white went to water well while singing then came a prince continue singing snow white’s song. When snow white is at the seven dwarf’s cottage, she then sang a song with the dwarfs while dancing around the cottage. While the other movie ’Sleeping beauty’, Aurora went to the forest to pick few berries and that is the moment when prince Philips saw her for the first time then he instant approaches Aurora and grab her hand while singing.

In a nutshell, The snow white and Sleeping beauty is a wonderful movie to be watch by not only children but adults as well. These two movies are one of the best Disney’s movies I have watched since my childhood. The starting of the movie shows the possession of love and hardworking. The Seven dwarfs presents themselves in the film as a caring and hardworking dwarfs by taking care of snow white until she was awake from the deathlike sleep. While the three fairies in sleeping beauty showed their love to Aurora by growing her until she is sixteen. These characters can be seen as role models as their acts and traits should be followed and thought by everyone .Especially to the younger generations to learn how to love and be hardworking for their loving family and friends.
