from the quality of child care, to the children’s ski and snowboard school, to on-mountain

Our Mountains

Our three big, interconnected mountains deliver over 1,000 acres of all-terrain access that serve up a vacation your family will never forget. When we were kids, we all loved to explore and discover new experiences or find

that special spot. Our three mountains provide you and your kids the time to enjoy our

Winter playground of 78 trails, acres of glades, and six terrain parks to explore. With over

300 inches of natural snowfall annually and state-of-the-art snowmaking, you’ll be

guaranteed family fun this Winter. And the dream of “something for everyone” is a reality

every day across our three mountains ... from the gentle, wide-open cruisers of Morse

Mountain where early turns are linked to the groomed trails and everyone feels like a pro,

all the way up — literally — to the steep and narrow twists of the East’s only triple black

diamond, the “Black Hole,” where skiing and riding legends are made.

Let it snow! This year we’ve added an additional 156 high-efficiency snowguns,

bringing our total to 400 covering all of our mountains — making

good on our commitment to having 100% high-efficiency

snowguns across all three mountains. This type of snowgun

produces faster overall terrain coverage, delivers quick and

focused trail touch-ups when needed, and requires less energy

usage furthering our commitment to environmental stewardship.

These enhancements combined with our annual average snowfall

of 300 inches means more reliable surface conditions.

“The new HDK tower snowguns installed at Smuggs this past season resulted in consistent snow coverage and quality.” — SKI Magazine Reader Survey Comment

Setting the standard for environmental stewardship.

As the only resort to be named a Vermont Business Environmental

Leader, Smugglers’ dedication to a cleaner, greener environment shows

in everything we do, from our commitment to high-efficiency snowguns

to our extensive land and energy conservation programs. Our efforts

are designed to preserve the intrinsic beauty of Vermont, so families like

yours can cherish this special place today and for generations to come. Our 150kW solar

trackers are another addition to our conservation efforts, supplying enough energy to

power most of the resort’s Village Lodge.

Our million-dollar fully-licensed child care center for infants and toddlers TREASURES is another example of our single-minded approach to

provide exceptional, kid-friendly family vacations. This wonderland is specially designed for

infants and toddlers ages 6 weeks to 3 years. TREASURES includes 5,400 square feet of

indoor space, with three sunny playrooms, a multitude of age-appropriate toys, tiny toilets

and small sinks, giant fish tanks in every room, one-way-mirror viewing and easy drop-off and

pickup for parents. The TREASURES staff is trained in first aid, CPR, child development and behavior management — including

many Early Childhood Teachers and Special Education Specialists. Our child-to-caregiver ratio assures full attention and the best

possible care. Entertaining your kids comes naturally to us! For your convenience, TREASURES is open daily, and includes lunch.

The staff is happy to arrange a private caregiver for evening hours in your vacation home.

THIS IS NOT YOUR ORDINARY RESORT!A prime example of the Smugglers’ difference is our teaching philosophy in Snow Sport University (SSU). We connect you and your family to the mountains through safety, fun and learning. So whether you’re new to snow sports or you’re ready to explore more challenging terrain, Snow Sport University’s experienced guides will help you develop the skills and confidence to meet your goals. And kids get the special attention they deserve from our SSU staff! We are the only Resort that has specially designed kid-friendly programs that divide age groups by small increments, based on the learning capacity and developmental stages of children — with fun at the heart of

every program, lesson, interaction and activity. For the advanced skiers and riders in your family, our guides can introduce them to the thrill and excitement of discovering new and hidden terrain, opening up a world of on-and-off-trail adventures they may never discover on their own. Our SSU staff personally makes sure your entire family, from toddlers to adults, beginners to experts, have the best possible on-mountain experience and end each session with more skill and knowledge as they progress throughout the week. Guests with special needs can also enjoy an alpine experience with our Smugglers’ Notch Adaptive Programs (SNAP) for skiing and riding. All of our all-day children’s programs, ages 3-15, use FlaikTM GPS, as a way to capture their on-mountain fun by tracking their miles, vertical feet, and trails skied each day.

exploration at the learning area of Morse Mountain. Coaches add to the day’s entertainment,

engaging the kids with countless games. Throw in the fun of new challenges and the thrill of

handling new terrain, and our Trail Blazers program creates lifelong snow sports enthusiasts!

the same TREASURES caregivers. The goal is to teach young kids to love skiing and

snowboarding as much as we do. Your kids will display their skills in weekly TREASURES

cookie races. Parents can enjoy warm cookies and hot chocolate after watching their little

ones “race” down the hill! Includes lunch.
