Ithasanewregistrationandsynchronizationprocedures,newsystemrolesandRoleBasedAccessControl(RBAC)forlicensemanagement,externalauthentication,syslog,proxy,andotherfunctions.ItisrecommendedyoureviewtheSmartSoftwareManagersatelliteEnhancedEditionUserGuidetounderstandhowthenewsystemsetupandoperationshavechanged.

1. Kickstart–UserfollowstheinstallationguidetodeploythesatelliteviatheISOinstallation
procedure.

Approveactioniscompleted,youwillselectthemethodtocompletetheregistrationtoCiscoSmart
SoftwareManager.

orusers,view/transferproductandlicensestatus,etc.

Step11 ReenterthePasswordStep12 ClickOK Initial setup is now complete, wait for the installation completes (approximately 10-15 mins). It is recommended you dismount the ISO image from the system after installation and reboot the server. The SSM satellite system automatically boots up. Next proceed to log into your satellite Administration Worksapce and registering your first account

5. Launch the satellite from a browser using the configured IP address 6. Login with default credentials (admin/CiscoAdmin!2345)
Caution ForSecurityreasons,itisrecommendedyouimmediatelychangethe“admin”password,ordisabletheaccountafteryoucreateanewlocalaccounttobeusedforadministration.
RequestanewlocalAccountInordertousetheSmartSoftwareManagersatelliteEnhancedEdition,itwillbenecessarytoregisterwithCiscoSmartSoftwareManager(https://software.cisco.com).Tocompletethisprocess,ensureyouhavethefollowing:
• Access to a Smart Account • A valid CCO User ID and Password which has permission to access the Smart Account • Either an eligible existing Virtual Account, a new one can be used.
Once you obtain these requirements, you will be able to proceed with registration.

Note TheCiscoSmartAccountmustexistonCSSM.ACiscoVirtualAccountwillbecreatedifitdoesnotexistonCSSM.OnlyonesatellitecanberegisteredtoaVirtualAccountonCSSM.
Step4 ClickSubmit.Step5 TheAccountrequestthenappearsontheAccountRequeststabintheAccountswidget.

ApproveanewlocalAccountOne the Account has been requested above, the localAccountrequestwillshowupinAccountRequestsTabintheAccountsWidgetintheAdministrationworkspace,awaitingtheSystemAdministratortoapproveandregister. As the final step in the registration procedure, you will need to decide if the satellite will be used in an online (Network Mode) or offline (Manual Mode), and access to your Smart Account.

VerifylocalAccountshowsupasActiveunderAccountstab.
ThelocalAccountisshownasasatelliteregisteredonCiscoSmartSoftwareManagerSatellitepane.NotethatthelocalAccountnameisthesatellitenameonthe“General”tab,andthelocalAccountnameshowsupunderthe“VirtualAccounts”tab.

Step4 LogintoyourlocalAccountinSmartSoftwareManagerusingyourlocalAccountusernameandpassword.
Step5 OntheSmartSoftwareManagerscreen,clicksatellite.Step6 Inthesatellitepage,clickNewsatellitebutton.Step7 IntheNewsatellitedialogbox,enterthenameofthesatellitethatrequiresregistration.

Step8 ClickBrowse,whichislocatednexttotheRegistrationFilefield,toselecttheregistrationfilethatwasgeneratedintheCiscoSmartSoftwareManagersatelliteSetuptool.
Step9 IntheVirtualAccountsfieldspecifytheVirtualAccountinwhichyouwanttoaddthenewsatellite.
Step10 InthetextboxnexttoContactEmailAddressfield,enteryouremailaddress.Youwillbenotifiedtothisemailoncethesatellitefilehasbeenauthorized.
Step11 ClickSendAuthorizationRequesttoproceed.Amessageisdisplayedstatingthatanauthorizationfileisgeneratedwithin48hoursoftherequestandthatyouwillreceiveanemailnotificationtodownloadthesame.
NoteIftheauthorizationfileisnotgeneratedwithin48hoursofyourrequestoryoudonotreceiveanemailnotification,youcancontacttheCiscosupport.
Step12 LogintoSmartSoftwareManagerafteryoureceivetheemailnotification.Navigatetothesatellitescreen.
Step13 Inthesatellitescreen,searchthesatellitetabletolocatethenewsatellitethatyoucreated.YouwillseeanalertmessageintheAlertscolumndisplaying:AuthorizationFileReadyandalinkintheActionscolumndisplaying:DownloadAuthorizationFileforyournewsatellite.
Step14 ClicktheDownloadAuthorizationFilelinkanddownloadtheauthorizationfiletoyourlocalfiledirectoryonyourharddrive.
