SMART-PLS Workshop

ADeC organized a two-day workshop on SMART-PLS for Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling at Wisma R&D, University of Malaya on 22 and 23 May 2017. Led by Dr. Mahmoud Danaee, participants from various institutions

came to study on how to use SMART-PLS software in quantitative research.

UM Learning Innovation and Teaching Enhancement Research (UM-LiTeR) Grant Briefing

On 18th May 2017, ADeC has organized a grant briefing for all potential applicant of UM-LiTeR Grant at Arif Hall, Administration Block, Faculty of Education, University of Malaya. The 2-hour briefing aims to convey all the information needed to all potential applicants of this grant including Q&A session. 57 academicians from various faculties attended

this briefing.

Inspire Program

Inspire Program is one of the program designed to fit UM academician needs and to support the initial and continuing professional development (CPD) of academic staff engaged in teaching and supporting learning. The 3-day course

happening on 22-24 May was attended by Senior Lecturers and Associate Professors of UM. Some of the modules offered in the program are Philosophy: Wisdom and Wonder of the Intellect, Effective Curriculum Design and Development

through a Team-based and Shared Responsibility Approach, Holistic Assessment: The OBE Way (Student Assessment-iCGPA) and Facilitating Social & Collaborative Learning Experiences with Wiki.

Corruption Risk Register Workshop

On 23 to 25th of May 2017, ADeC'S Senior Assisstant Registrar, Mr. Mohd Hairolnezam Kahmis attended a workshop on Corruption Risk Register with other representative from units under the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and

International).

UM-LiTeR 2017 Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) Workshop

On 25th May 2017, ADeC has organized a workshop on Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) for all potential applicant of UM-LiTeR Grant at Cube, Faculty Computer Science and Information Technology, University of Malaya. The

half-day workshop briefing aims to give in-depth understanding of concept and framework of Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) and Action Research. Speakers for this workshop are Dr Aishah Abu Bakar, Director of Academic

Development Management Division, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE), and Dr Zuwati Hashim (Faculty of Education, University of Malaya) whom are expert in the fields of research in teaching and

learning. 23 academicians from various faculties attended this workshop.

Visit by Kasetsart University, Kingdom of Thailand

On 26 May 2017, ADeC received a delegates from Programs of Educational Administration, Faculty of Education, Kasetsart University, Thailand. The study visit aims to let their students (of Doctoral Program in Educational

Administration) experience more of the international perspective on education and educational administration. We hope to see a collaboration between UM and Kasetsart University in enhancing academic and leadership development in the

future.
