Dry Skin

• Dry Skin (xerosis) usually the result of underactive sebecous glands

Factors• Your age - As we age our skin produces less

sebum. Your complexion can appear rough and dull. The lack of oil also causes cells to clump together in flakes or scales.

• Your sex - Generally, women produce less sebum than men. Men experience a relatively small decrease in oil production until well into their 80s, whereas women's skin tends to become much drier after menopause.

• Sun exposure – Long-termed sun exposure can cause premature wrinkles and dry skin. UVA radiation travels deep in the dermis, significantly damaging collagen & elastin fibers leading to premature wrinkles and loose, sagging skin).
