Sixth Avenue UMC Messenger July/August 2020 Dear Church Family, I want to say that I am thrilled to be in ministry with you and I am looking forward to getting to know each one of you. If you would look to get ahold of me, you may do so either by email ([email protected]) or by phone (740-637-7143). I look forward to hearing from you! While this year has proven to be difficult on many fronts, I am convinced that this is also a great time to be in ministry. God is opening many new areas for us to be ministering together to our community. I would also like to let you know that we will begin holding in-person worship services on Sunday, July 5. We will be keeping our regular 10:30am worship time. As we start to gather together once again on Sunday mornings, we need to keep safety at the forefront of our thinking. If you decide to join us in person for worship on July 5, we ask that you please wear a mask. If you dont have a mask there will be plenty here at church that you can use. You are also asked to please keep social distancing in mind when choosing a seat for worship. Please stay six feet away from anyone who you do not live with. There will also be plenty of hand sanitizer available in case you need it. Please use your own best judgment when deciding if you want to join us for in-person worship. You are the best judge of your health and comfort level. If you decide that coming to church on July 5 isnt for you, dont worry! Our worship services will be live-streamed on our website. If you have any questions, or concerns, about us returning to in-person worship, feel free to contact me. Many Blessings! Pastor Rick

Dear Church Family, I want to say that I am thrilled to be in ministry with you and I am looking forward to getting to know each one of you.

If you don’t have a mask there will be plenty here at church that you can use. If you decide that coming to church on July 5 isn’t for you, don’t worry! Our worship services will be live-streamed on our website. If you have any questions, or concerns, about us returning to in-person worship, feel free to contact me. Many Blessings! Pastor Rick

Aluminum Can Collection

The church is still

accepting aluminum cans. Please crush them to save space. You can leave your bags of cans outside by the shed on the 4th Sunday of each month. The money received from all the cans will go to the

Veteran’s Burial Squad.

Thank you!

Adult Bible Study, Junior church and the nursery are closed until further notice.

All children are to remain with their family at all times.

Thank you!

The Evangelism Team has decided to take orders for RADA

Cutlery. Everything in this catalog will make excellent gifts for

you or someone else. The catalogs are on the counter in

the Narthex. I will be placing orders as they come in. This will be an all

year fundraiser. All profits will go to the

Evangelism Team Ministries.

If you have any questions, please ask Lee Ann or anyone on the

Evangelism Team. Thank you!

World Mission Coin Box Ministry

With your loose change, you can help send a Treasure (a solar-powered audio Bible, which can be pro-

grammed in over 6,000 languages and dialects) to the poorest of poor and who are oral learners. There are

small ‘Change the World’ coin boxes on the Welcome Center counter. Please take a box, fill it with your loose

change, and return it to the office whenever you get it full. You can tape your name to the box if you want

record of it. We will be reusing all of the coin boxes, so please be gentle with them. This year we are going to continue doing this all year long. As some of you may know, the Adult Bible Study on Sunday mornings, col-

lect for this twice a month. Let’s help to continue to help spread the Word of God all across the world.

It doesn’t take much and every cent counts.

Thank you for you continued generosity! May God Bless you and keep you!

There won’t be any sign-ups to purchase Altar Flowers at this time.
