Chaica’s Club Activities

Hajar Rock Painting Take a piece of Oman home with you by painting your own design on a rock from our Hajar Mountains. We’ve got all sorts of non-toxic paints and colours for you to create beautiful designs.

Kick The Can One player is chosen as "seeker” who stands about 10 paces away from the can, while others scatter across the playing field and try to sneak up and kick the can before the seeker calls out their names. If the seeker spots a player moving toward the can, the seeker calls out the name and counts out loud to three. Players caught by the seeker go to jail. If a player successfully kicks the can first, all players in jail are freed and a new seeker begins!

Mehndi ~ Henna Fun The art of applying Henna on the skin, this temporary application will last only a day or two. Henna is a celebrated tradition in Arabia, and you can have any design you like!

Mini Olympics All sorts of high energy sporting events are available for you to demonstrate your speed, strength, and teamwork. Racing, swimming, relay, and crazy balls with a spoon; all the fun competitions!

Mix and Match Juice Fun Fresh juices are a great way to drink your daily requirement of fruits and vegetables. Make your own combination to discover

a tasty treat.

Salt Dough Art We’ve made our own play dough out of salt, water, and flour. Now you get to shape, mould, and play with your very own.

Sand Art You may end up bringing some sand home in your suitcase, but here’s a fun memory you can create with our very own Zighy Bay sand. You’ll be able to write your name on paper with our sand and decorate with more colours.

Treasure Hunt Do you want to play Detective? Search the clues hidden around and find prizes. Some of them may be easy, but some may also put your brain to the test with puzzles. Either way, you’ll discover treasure!

Swim Relay This relay race is fun and exciting, all the while splashing and swimming. Do you think you have what it takes to lead your team to the finish line?

Water Polo Learn this popular keep-away game in our pool, or show us your skills. Someone is always trying to get the ball, and it’s your job to make sure it doesn’t fall into the wrong hands!

Zighy Cinema Watch new releases and old classics with popcorn while the family enjoys dinner. We’ve got great movies and friends to keep you company.

Our Chaica’s Club is centrally located adjacent to the Main Pool, below Zighy Bar, and is available for those aged 4 – 12 years. Hours of supervision in the club are: 09:00 – 12:00; 14:00 – 17:00; and 19:00- 21:00. Alien Scavenger Hunt We make a list of items around the resort for which to scavenge and then give them unique “alien names”. We write these names on paper bags and go searching through the resort based on clues, while encouraging you to work together to figure out what each item is.

Arabic Lesson Impress your family and friends when you learn how to count and say local greetings in Arabic, the language of Oman.

Beach Bowling Create ten bowling pins using a bucket and sand. Each player gets to roll the ball twice, like real bowling. The next player will have to create his or her bowling pins. At the end of the game, winner gets to kick over remaining sand pins while screaming, “I am the beach bowling master!”

BIG-Go! This game is similar to BINGO, only much bigger. Instead of using a small card for bingo, we will create our own BIG-go squares on the large sand area and use rocks or balls as markers.

Bookmarks for Bookworms Does it bug you when you lose your place while you are reading? Create a bright bookworm bookmark with crayons and recycled paper to keep your page from wriggling away!

Cookie, Cupcake and Pizza Making Our Chef’s team may have made the batter and dough, but it’s missing the last ingredient: fun! Let us gather and create some tasty snacks. Once they’ve baked we can decorate them with all sorts of goodies.

Crab Searching Have you seen the sand tunnels and towers along the beach? Inside lives an adorable ghost crab, aptly named because they blend in so well. Come searching with us and you can see them scurry.

Crazy Balls Dig a winding course through the sand and set your ball on a race to the finish. Send it shooting down your crazy trail in a rush of water, twisting and turning through the track.

Feed the Zighy Goats Have you counted all of the Zighy goats? There are lots of them waiting to play with you, and they’re all hungry! We like to give them organic scraps to ensure their health and safety, and as part of our environmentally conscious efforts to reduce waste. Come along and get a little closer to the wildlife.

Arabic Lesson Arabic is spoken as a first official language in 22 countries with over 280 million native speakers, and is the liturgical language of Islam. Take a lesson in the basics with our Omani hosts. This activity is offered in Maktabah, our library adjacent to Sablah.

Chocolate Truffle Demonstration This interactive demonstration with our Pastry Chefs Nabil and Ajey will give you the fundamental information and tools needed to work with cacao. Join in and make festive chocolate bites. This activity is offered in the Board Room, between Maktabah and Summer House.

Cinema Paradiso Our take on the classic drive-in theatre, we show Six Senses favourites on the big screen and personal stereo surround sound wireless headphones. Relax under the stars, sprawled on loungers with usher service and unique popcorn flavours. This activity is offered with our compliments Sundays and Wednesdays on the Main Beach.

Hand Line Fishing A traditional experience, this excursion will show you how to catch your own dinner! Bring home a treat for the family and let the Chefs cook it up! This activity requires reservation, is charged at thirty-three OMR, and leaves from the Experiences Centre.

High Tea Take an afternoon break from the sea and sand. Enjoy scones, canapés, and finger sandwiches as you sample some of our luxury tea selection. This activity is offered in Zighy Bar.

Kayaking This escorted excursion allows you to paddle in our bay. We have single and double kayaks available. This excursion leaves from the Shua Shack.

No Rush Hour Six Senses’ approach to “Happy Hour”. Our Bartenders take it easy, charging you every other of our daily-themed cocktails. This activity is offered nightly in Zighy Bar in conjunction with the tapas menu and is chargeable.

Organic Garden Tour Did you know that we have a 2,500 square metre organic garden growing in the heart of our resort? Join Chief Gardener Jagath Wasantha and learn a bit more about our sustainable practises. This tour meets at Sablah.

Organic Herbal Mixology Many ingredients used in our drinks come straight from our Organic Garden. Sample fresh ingredients and make your own refresher. This activity is offered in Zighy Bar and is without alcohol.

Sensory Wine Journey Discover how our senses change as we grow, often manipulating the way in which we perceive scents and tastes. This exploration is guided by our resident wine experts for an educational wine experience. This activity is offered in Zighy Bar.

Activities

With easy access to the beach, volleyball, pétanque, tennis courts and Jungle Gym, our teenage club, al Feetean's Club is a great place to make new friends and get away from the family. Al Feetean's Club is open to guests aged 13 – 18 years. Unless noted, all activities meet at the club. Beach Campfire Grab some evening time with friends sharing laughs and stories while you relax on the beach. Does anyone have any ghost tales?

Cycle Around Zighy Bay Take a ride on our mountain bikes around Zighy Bay. We’ll guide you around twists and turns and give you tips on safe biking practice (and perhaps a few stellar techniques to boot!)

Kayak Both competitions and general fun are to be had during these activities. Never paddled before? No sweat! Just join the adventure and glide on top of the water. This activity is offered with our compliments at the Shua Shack.

Raft Building and Race Can you build a raft that will stay afloat? Give it a shot with your team and then race against the others! This activity meets at the Shua Shack.

Slack Lining Walk on our slack line, learning balancing skills that will help you with other activities like surfing or skiing.

Snorkelling This two-hour underwater exploration begins with a speed boat ride to neighbouring bays. Never used a mask and snorkel? We will show you how as guides point out secret spots and beautiful marine life. With reservation necessary, this activity is charged at thirty-three OMR per person and leaves from the Experiences Centre.

Survivor Skills/Fantasy Makeup Learn basic skills of what to do in an outdoor extreme situation with very little supplies or tools. Or, more into fashion? Create fantasy make-up with sparkles and face paint to bring out your wild side!

Water Skiing, Wake Boarding and Tubing A classic water sport, take this opportunity to hone your skills or learn new ones! This activity is charged at fifteen OMR per person and is offered at the Shua Shack.

Katrina Valente, “Inner Peace, Outer Beauty” 26th December – 7th January

Holistic Aesthetician Katrina Valente has devoted her life to health and wellness. Over the years she has travelled extensively on a healing journey of self discovery in order to help others achieve their dreams and goals, and has been rewarded with recognition as one of the World’s Top Four Facialists. She is qualified in aromatherapy, reflexology, crystal healing, colour therapy, NLP, Hypnosis and timeline therapy, Coaching to Excellence, Angelic Reiki and skincare aesthetics.

Anti-aging was always her passion, and having learned many modalities she decided to offer a different kind of facial treatment; one that incorporated crystals, colour therapy and reflexology, giving results that tantalize your mind, body, and spirit. Her consultations are thorough as she looks at not just your skin, but your whole being. The result: it’s not just a facial you may end up having! She simply wants to help you break free of your limitations to have the life of which you truly deserve.

Intraceuticals Oxygen Facial This is the facial to which celebrities like Madonna, Charlize Theron and Jennifer Lopez subscribe. Carina Ericson, “Think Out of the Box” 26th December – 7th January

With wisdom and compassion, Swedish born Carina brings her extensive background in the field of wellness and health. She inspires and motivates others to take action to discover what they need to do to feel better on every level of their life: physical; emotional; mental; and spiritual. Carina gives a clear and fresh point of view when looking at your concerns, needs or most intimate thoughts. The result is an amazing feeling. It's as if she has the capacity of seeing at the same time your mind and soul. She is a person who senses the whole of you. She gives insight not only into the workings of your mind, but also the "home" in which you truly live: your body.

For over 20 years she deepened her knowledge of complimentary medicine and worked with medical experts from all over the globe. As a representative of the international homeopathic company Heel, she visited medical congresses in various countries, and today has an international network with “out of the box” thinking MDs. During those years, she studied Tai Chi and Qi Gong and became a certified Kundalini Yoga Teacher. Carina trained with some of the most famous people in that area, practised Reconnective Healing with Dr. Eric Pearl from Los Angeles, and opened one of the first Body & Mind Centres in southern Germany where she developed her own techniques.

Reconnective Healing Reconnective Healing is often a life-changing experience, utilizing new frequencies to allow for the healing of body, mind and spirit. People are turning to Reconnective Healing to eliminate chronic pain, depression, anxiety, stress or other conditions that have not responded to traditional methods. Even those not contending with a health issue often find more energy or achieve a strong spiritual connection or joy in life. Wellness Activities

Aerobics and Aqua Fitness with Daniel An upbeat exercise session that improves your cardiovascular, flexibility and muscular strength. These activities are offered on the Main Beach and in our Saltwater Pool. ABS with Daniel Everyone’s favourite workout routine is also integral to correct posture and digestion. Enroll with our resident Fitness Instructor in the Fitness Centre to keep away the extra holiday weight.

Boot Camp Training On our outdoor gym - an invigorating workout that will include cardiovascular activity, strengthening, toning, developing your core strength and balance. This activity meets at the Jungle Gym.

Circuit Training with Daniel Part of our functional fitness approach, our resident Fitness Instructor will lead you through necessary exercise techniques to assist in developing a personal workout campaign, or help you keep up with your own.

Colour Therapy Workshop with Katrina Valente We live our life in colour; we decorate our homes with colour, we dress in our favourite colours, we choose our cars of a certain colour, and the list goes on…but there is a hidden energy of colour in each of us that goes much deeper. Katrina Valente helps her clients harness and benefit from the energy during this workshop.

Facial Workshop Learn how to make your own hydrating facial treatment with ingredients grown throughout the resort. Not only are they great for your skin, they happen to smell and taste fantastic as well! This activity is offered at the Spa.

Hike Zighy Bay Hiking in Oman is a key draw for many visitors. We have hikes of all abilities that take you to the tip of Zighy Bay’s surrounding Hajar Mountains. This activity meets at the Experiences Centre.

Massage Methods and Workshops Learn different massage techniques to relax yourself, your friends, or your special someone. We can even teach your little ones to massage you! Try your hands at Balinese, Thai or Shiatsu, to name a few. This activity is offered at the Spa.

Meditation A calming exercise for the mind to release stress and ascend, allowing a higher connection with your body and soul. This activity is offered with resident practitioner Pat Harvey at the open-air Spa Pavilion.

Morning Stretching with Daniel Start your day off with an unparalleled view over Zighy Bay as our resident Fitness Instructor Daniel leads you through full body stretching. This activity is offered on our Main Beach, straight down from the Main Pool.

Pétanque This activity uses a form of boules where the goal is, while standing inside a starting circle with both feet on the ground, to throw hollow metal balls as close as possible to a small wooden ball, called a cochonnet. Our Pétanque Court is located adjacent to the Beach Volleyball Court, in front of al Feetean’s Club, our Teenage Club.

Talker's Table We dismantle the myth that Wellness Cuisine is not considered fulfilling or flavourful while dining on a three-course, bespoke, healthy dining journey. Your evening is hoted by our visiting and resident Wellness experts for a communal, educational and gastronomic experience. This dinner is offered at the Chef’s Table in Spice Market on Wednesdays and Saturdays with prior reservation, and is charged at thirty OMR per person.

Tennis Training Our resident Tennis Trainer will assist you in the basics of Tennis, or help you improve your current swing. Our Tennis Court is located adjacent to al Feetean’s Club, our Teenage Club

Wellness Workshops with Steve Harvey Our resident Wellness Manager offers inspirational and insightful information to help you better understand and transform your daily routine to better harmonize your body’s chemistry. Understanding Your Skin Workshop with Pat Learn more about your skin type with our resident Beauty Therapist Pat Harvey, as she discusses the intricacies of skin care to assist you with your home care regimen. This activity is offered at the Spa.

Yoga A flow of Yoga asanas (postures) - using precise alignment and postural control to help develop muscular strength, core stability, balance, flexibility and an awareness of your breathing. Hatha Yoga pushes your mind to withdraw from external objects, while Kundalini Yoga often uses physical postures to focus on navel activity, activity of the spine, and selective pressurization of body points and meridians; techniques differ in each class. Enjoy this class at our open-air Spa Pavilion.

Chargeable classes are offered at twenty OMR per class, per person. Any guests on Six Senses Wellness Programmes enjoy these activities with our compliments. Reservations are necessary; please make your booking 5 hours in advance for evening activities and 14 hours in advance for morning activities. Honoured as the Best Restaurant by the Middle East Hotel Awards and perched at 293 meters above resort level, our mountain-top, modern fine dining restaurant is the perfect place to enjoy your evening overlooking the resort and Bay. Offering course-by-course à la carte, Chef de Cuisine James Knight Pacheco will delight you with new world twists on classic tastes. Add degustation to any evening for decadent enhancement. Open Tuesday through Saturday with reservations necessary, and your Butler will happily assist with your time and menu requests. Christmas Eve Cocktail Reception Join the management with your friends and family in our Organic Garden to take in a breath of fresh air and share a cocktail or mocktail to begin your festive evening. Canapés and choice selections from our cellar, local signatures, and herbal mixes are available, including a recipe hunt for teens and children to mix their own!

Omani Christmas Eve Celebration When your belly rumbles follow the lit pathway to the Shua Shack, festively set against the beach, gently-crashing waves and the ambient Saltwater Pool. Wander through our beachside souq of visiting artisans crafting pieces of Omani heritage, and engage with local flair. Entertainment throughout your dinner includes an interactive magician and local music from the Khalil Ghadri Band while you dine on International and Arabic delicacies at the lavish Christmas Eve Buffet, including live-action stations with bespoke specialties from Executive Chef Steven Wilson.

Don’t forget to fall asleep before midnight to ensure Santa pays you a visit!

A Very Merry Omani Christmas

Tabouleh, hummus, babaganoush; it all sounds Arabic to you? If so, then this is the perfect opportunity to enjoy a classic Bedouin dining experience. Your family-style evening begins with a selection of local and organic salads, followed by the main course of lamb prepared in our underground oven (known as a “shua”). Be sure to leave space for the Arabic sweets and side dishes! Shua Shack is offered each Monday and Thursday at 18:30 with prior reservation, and is priced at thirty-five OMR per person. Opt for the Lebanese beer and wine package for an extra fourteen OMR per person and enjoy flowing service of some of the region’s delectable white, rosé and red wines.

Each lunar cycle showers us with the bright illumination of the full moon, rising directly over Zighy Bay and adding romance to any evening. To further enhance the mood we emulate WWF’s annual Earth Hour by switching off all lights throughout the resort from 20:30 ~ 21:30 and operate by candle light. We invite you to do the same in your villas, using the torch provided in your wardrobe. On Friday, 28th December, 2012 we honour the last full moon of the year with these activities.

Dinner in the Dark at Sense on the Edge Enjoy a progressive journey at 293 metres. Following a welcome cocktail, you are blindfolded for the first course, dining without cutlery. Removing the blindfold and introducing cutlery for the second course while dining under the star-filled sky; the main course follows with candlelight; the journey culminates in ambient lighting for dessert. Your senses are teased and heightened.

New Year’s Eve Cocktail Reception Join the management at the Shua Shack Beach to start the festivities with a drink among friends and family. Games and entertainment are available for teens and children, as well as canapés, wines, cocktails and mocktails.

New Year’s Eve Gala Dinner Enjoy a lit procession along the beach as we invite you to Six Senses Zighy Bay’s Gala on the Main Beach. A latin-infused quartet and DJ will keep the beat alive while couples and families eat International and local delicacies from live stations at the luxurious New Year’s Buffet. A special chaperoned children’s section is adjacent, with child-sized food options and popcorn to movies. Mystical entertainment accents the evening as we bid adieu to 2012 and usher 2013.

Resident Pilot Hristo Arnaudov, more commonly known as Itso, has been the resort’s resident pilot since opening in 2008. He has toured thousands of guests in the air above the resort and the Hajar Mountains by paraglide and micro light.

Guests can arrive by paraglide or fly throughout their stay. It is offered daily during peak time to utilize Zighy Bay’s natural thermals. Soaring up to 600 metres above sea level, get a bird’s eye view of the Bay, the Mountains, abandoned villages and neighbouring Dibba.
