Industry Feedback Survey...In the latest feedback survey, industry employers of recent Sir George Seymour graduates were asked to rate

their new employees on teamwork, communication, technical skills and product/destinational knowledge - all

of which are vital in today’s workplace.

In every category over the five campuses nationwide, employees were rated on average 4 (out of 5) with

a high number of industry leaders rating their new employees as ‘outstanding’ and stating they ‘exceeded

expectations!’

According to this survey, the industry also rates Sir George Seymour in the top three for their first point of

iii) Once you have been accepted, a confirmation letter will then be posted out to you.

iv) You can then apply for a student loan and/or allowance. If you bring in your bank account and IRD

number, we can send off your application for a student loan to Studylink on the same day.

Student Loan SchemeNew Zealand students (NZ Citizens & Permanent residents) are eligible for the Government Student Loan Scheme. Subject to certain

conditions, students are entitled to borrow the following amounts –

· Compulsory course fees - Total amount of course fees

· Course related costs - $1000 maximum

· Living costs - A maximum of $160.24 per week is available

Student AllowanceA student allowance is a weekly payment to help with living expenses while you study and you don’t have to pay it back. It is available to

New Zealand students (NZ Citizens & Permanent residents) that are 18 years and older and is means tested if you are under 24 years of

age. Eligibility depends on a number of factors including your income and that of your parents. Check out the Studylink website for more

Processing ApplicationsInformation for both the allowance and student loan schemes are available from Studylink on their website. We can check your

documentation, authorise photocopies of birth certificates and other documents if needed.

Scholarships and InternshipsSecondary School Tourism Student of the Year Scholarship: Sir George Seymour College recognises success and is pleased to

sponsor the top Tourism Student of the Year at a range of high schools throughout New Zealand. The top Tourism Student will receive

a $500.00 scholarship to study at any of our five Sir George Seymour College campuses on a full time course of their choice. For more

Certificate in Cultural Tourism Scholarship: This course is designed for students who have a specific interest in Maori culture and

Maori Tourism. You do not have to be of Maori descent to apply for this course. Scholarships of $2500.00 are available to students who

ATTTO Scholarship: The Aviation, Tourism & Travel Organisation (ATTTO) has

scholarship opportunities of up to $1000.00 for New Zealand Gateway,

secondary and teritary students who enrol into an ATTTO approved
