This booklet is an operator’s guide describing all the mainprogramming steps.

The aim is to provide the operator with some quick help anda memory aid especially for commands that are usedinfrequently or to offer a quick reference on variousparameters.

When you press the "Areachangeover" key, theoperating areas in the mainmenu appear in thehorizontal softkey bar. Youcan use this key to switchfrom any menu to the mainmenu.

With HMI Embedded and HMI Advanced a range of keyand softkey assignments is available with identicalfunctions in all operating areas and menus (operatingprinciple).

Area changeover:

Switch back from anymenu to the main menu ofyour control.

Softkeys:

Horizontal softkeys:These keys subdivide eachoperating area into furthermenu levels. Each horizontalmenu item has a verticalmenu bar/softkeyassignment.

Vertical softkeys:Assigned with functions forthe currently selectedhorizontal softkeys.

Navigation in the menu window:

Change menu windows:Change the focus to theselected menu window.

Scroll in the menuwindow:Scroll one screen pagedown or up.

Position cursor in themenu window:Position the cursor at thedesired point in the menuwindow.

Navigation in the directory tree:

Select directory/file:Position the cursor on thedesired directory/file.

Open/close directory:Open or close the selecteddirectory.

Close directory:Close selected diectory.

Open file:Open the desired file, e.g. ifyou want to edit the file in theASCII editor (in this case theeditor is openedautomatically).

Select file (HMI Advanced):Select the desired file.

Select several files (HMIAdvanced):Hold down the "Shift" and"Cursor Down" keys.

Select start of block.

or

Neighboring files are selectedwhen you hold down the"Cursor Up" or "Cursor Down"keys.

Deselect selected files.

Cancel all selections.

Edit inputs/values:

If you want to editinputs/values, thecorresponding key is alwaysdisplayed automatically onthe right of the input field.The following input fields areavailable:

1. Option fields (radiobuttons or check boxes):Activate or deactivate theoption field.

2. Input fields:Switch to input mode.

Enter the value or word (e.g.file name, type, etc.) on thenumeric keypad.

You automatically switch toinput mode if you firstposition the cursor on theinput field.

Always confirm your inputwith the "Input" key. Thevalue is accepted.

You can use the "Toggle" keyto select one of severaldefault values.

3. Selection list (HMIAdvanced):Display the preselection ofpossible values.

Open selection list

Position the cursor on thedesired values.

Always confirm your inputwith the "Input" key. Thevalue is accepted.

Switch to the next value inthe selection list withoutdisplaying the entire list.

Confirm/cancel input:

OKConfirm input:Save the inputs and exit thecurrent menu (youautomatically return to thecalling menu).

CancelCancel input:Reject the inputs and quit thecurrent menu (youautomatically return to thecalling menu).

Reject the inputs and quit thecurrent menu (youautomatically move up onelevel).

Clear the current input butremain in the current menu.

Operation with the mouse:

If you have installed amouse, operation isfacilitated as follows:

1 "click" 1 click means:• Activate the menu window.• Position the cursor on the

desired input field.• Select directory.• Activate softkey.• Activate/deactivate radio

button/check box.• Activate input field.• Open selection list.

2 "clicks" 2 clicks mean:• Accept value/input.• Open directory.

Please note:The calculation of the offset always refers to the currentworkpiece coordinate system (WCS).

In order to take account ofthe tool geometry, positionthe cursor in the column"Geometry + wear" on theaxis which shall be traversedand select with "Toggle" key,how the tool offset shall becalculated.

Start parts program.

Cycle Stop

Stop parts program.

Reset

Cancel parts program.

A parts program interrupted via "Cycle Stop" can becontinued with "Cycle Start".

A parts program interrupted via "Reset" can be processedfrom the beginning if you press "Cycle Start".



6.3 Repos −−−− Reposition after interruption

After a program interrupt ("Cycle-Stop") you can move thetool away from the contour in the manual mode. The controlsaves the coordinates of the interruption point. Thetraversed path differences of the axes are displayed.


JogSelect "Jog" mode.

ZTraverse axes up to the pointof interruption.

Milling machine:

The control has detected a system error in the partprogram. Execution of the part program is automaticallyinterrupted.

Cycle Start

Start execution via RS-232.

Executed blocks appear inthe current block window.

Alternatively, it is possible to start execution in the"Services" operating area.You can change the transfer parameters in the "Services"operating area. The transfer is recorded in the error log.

LoadLoad the program into the NCmemory.

UnloadSave the program on thehard disk.

Please note:When you activate "Load", the program is automaticallydeleted from the hard disk. When you activate "Unload", theprogram is automatically cleared from the NC memory.
