Sing to God new songs of worship-all his deeds are marvellous;he has brought salvation to uswith his hand and holy arm:he has shown to all the nationsrighteousness and saving power;he recalled his truth and mercyto his people Israel.

Sing to God new songs of worship-earth has seen his victory;let the lands of earth be joyfulpraising him with thankfulness:sound upon the harp his praises, play to him with melody;let the trumpets sound his triumph, show your joy to God the king!

Sing to God new songs of worship-let the sea now make a noise;all on earth and in the waterssound your praises to the Lord:let the hills be joyful together, let the rivers clap their hands, for with righteousness and justicehe will come to judge the earth.Michael Baughen, from Psalm 98 Ccli licence 20979

Sing of the Lord's goodness, Father of all wisdom, come to him and bless his name.Mercy he has shown us, his love is for ever, faithful to the end of days.Come then all you nations, sing of your Lord's goodness, melodies of praise and thanks to God.Ring out the Lord's glory, praise him with your music, worship him and bless his name.

Power he has wielded, honour is his garment, risen from the snares of death. His word he has spoken, one bread he has broken, new life he now gives to all.Come then all you nations, sing of your Lord's goodness, melodies of praise and thanks to God.Ring out the Lord's glory, praise him with your music, worship him and bless his name.

Courage in our darkness, comfort in our sorrow,Spirit of our God most high;solace for the weary, pardon for the sinner, splendour of the living God.Come then all you nations, sing of your Lord's goodness, melodies of praise and thanks to God.Ring out the Lord's glory, praise him with your music, worship him and bless his name.

Praise him with your singing, praise him with the trumpet, praise God with the lute and harp;praise him with the cymbals, praise him with your dancing, praise God till the end of days.Come then all you nations, sing of your Lord's goodness, melodies of praise and thanks to God.Ring out the Lord's glory, praise him with your music, worship him and bless his name.E Sands ccli licence 20979

Father, I place into your handsthe things that I can't do.Father, I place into your handsthe times that I've been through.Father, I place into your handsthe way that I should go,for I know I always can trust you.

Father, I place into your handsmy friends and family.Father, I place into your handsthe things that trouble me.Father, I place into your handsthe person I would be,for I know I always can trust you.

Father, we love to seek your face,we love to hear your voice.Father, we love to sing your praise, and in your name rejoice.Father, we love to walk with youand in your presence rest, for we know we always can trust you.

Father, I want to be with youand do the things you do.Father, I want to hear the wordsthat you are speaking too.Father, I want to love all those that Jesus tells me to,for I know in Christ I'm one with you.Jenny Hewer, amended ccli licence 20979

Events CommitteeWe are looking for a few people to join a newly formed Events Committee. This group will plan a number of social and fundraising events in and around the church over the next couple of years. It is hoped that these events will not only develop our fellowship and community involvement, but make a big contribution to support the cost of realising our shared Vision of Orchardhill growing and flourishing. If you can help or wish more information, please contact Shona Fisher, [email protected] World War Centenary CommemorationsAs part of the congregations commemorations of the First World War centenary we are planning a small exhibition in the church around the time of remembrance Sunday. Do you perhaps have any objects or photos which you would be willing to lend us for the display? Perhaps a family member served during the war, Or you have a family story which you could share? We are looking to make the display personal to the congregation and local community and would like to reflect on this period in history through the people and the things they left behind. If you think you can help then please contact [email protected] and let her know by the end of August.Summer Mission Monday 6th - Friday 10th AugustAlong with craft donations we are also looking for volunteers to help with story telling, games, serving juice and biscuits and helping with crafts. If you feel can help, then please add your name to the sign-up sheets by the tea and coffee. No help is too little. If you can help out one morning or the whole week.

Scripture Judges 5: 1-12On that day Deborah and Barak son of Abinoam sang this song:‘When the princes in Israel take the lead, when the people willingly offer themselves – praise the Lord!‘Hear this, you kings! Listen, you rulers!I, even I, will sing to the Lord;I will praise the Lord, the God of Israel, in song.‘When you, Lord, went out from Seir, when you marched from the land of Edom, the earth shook, the heavens poured, the clouds poured down water. The mountains quaked before the Lord, the One of Sinai, before the Lord, the God of Israel.‘In the days of Shamgar son of Anath, in the days of Jael, the highways were abandoned; travellers took to winding paths.Villagers in Israel would not fight;they held back until I, Deborah, arose, until I arose, a mother in Israel.God chose new leaders when war came to the city gates, but not a shield or spear was seen among forty thousand in Israel. My heart is with Israel’s princes, with the willing volunteers among the people. Praise the Lord!‘You who ride on white donkeys, sitting on your saddle blankets, and you who walk along the road, consider the voice of the singers at the watering places. They recite the victories of the Lord, the victories of his villagers in Israel.‘Then the people of the Lord went down to the city gates.“Wake up, wake up, Deborah!Wake up, wake up, break out in song!Arise, Barak! Take captive your captives, son of Abinoam.”

Holiday Jar - Let’s give children a break! Holidays, for most of us, offer an escape to new horizons, fun and adventure. For many families, however, holidays and even school outings are out of reach. These families belong to 20% of our city’s population that is income deprived. Over a third of Glasgow’s children live in poverty. That’s over 36,000 children, many of whom never enjoy a few days at the seaside or in the country. A break can help improve self-esteem and promote better health and wellbeing. We can assist families and children to have a break at a static caravan on the Clyde coast or help with the cost of a school outing by helping to fill our Holiday Jar each Sunday over the summer months. The money raised will be donated to Glasgow Care Foundation to help provide holidays for disadvantaged children – many are young carers or have a disability - and their families, building happy memories. The children in Stepping Stones have given it a good start by donating their offerings for this session. Will you help?
