GUARANTEES AND MEETING SPACEIn arranging for private functions, a guarantee must be given to the Delta Hotels by Marriott Norfolk Airport at least three(3) business days prior to the function. Guarantees must be received by 12 noon on the date due; otherwise the expected number becomes the guarantee. When a guarantee is given; this will become the final guarantee, not subject to reduction. We will set for 5% over the guarantee; however, we will prepare only for the guaranteed amount. On the final bill you will be charged the guaranteed or the actual amount of guests, whichever is greater. Banquet and meeting rooms are assigned by the number of people anticipated. If the attendance increases or decreases, the Delta Hotels by Marriott Norfolk Airport reserves the right to change groups, without notification, to a room suitable for the expected attendance or guarantees.

FINANCIAL PAYMENTPayment for all local catering functions are to be made in full fourteen(14) days prior to your event. A deposit is required for all functions, unless other arrangements have been made with your catering professional.

AUDIO VISUALAll audio-visual equipment is available at competitive rates through our full-service, in-house audio-visual company. An equipment and price list is available upon request. A 20% service charge and sales tax of 6.5% will be added to all audio-visual. Cancellation for rented audio-visual equipment must be made prior to 24hours in advance of the function or the rental charges will apply.

FOOD AND BEVERAGE, SERVICE CHARGE, AND TAX

A 20% service charge will be added to all food and beverage functions. Sales tax (12.5%) is added to the total cost of the function. The Virginia State Liquor Commission regulates the sales and service of all alcoholic beverages. The Delta Hotels by Marriott Norfolk Airport is responsible for the regulations. It is a policy that no alcoholic beverages are to be brought into the Delta Hotels by Marriott Norfolk Airport for an event. As a purveyor of alcoholic beverages, we encourage our patrons to drink responsibly, and will not serve alcoholic beverages to minors or to anyone who appears to be intoxicated. We support the “Designated Driver” Program and will offer complimentary soft drinks to a Designated Driver. The Delta Hotels by Marriott Norfolk Airport reserves the right to cease service of alcoholic beverages in the event that persons under the state mandated age limit are present at the function and attempt to receive service of alcoholic beverages.

LABOR CHARGES, ATTENDANT FEES, AND BARTENDER CHARGESAdditional staffing such as carvers, station attendants, and additionally requested food and beverage servers are available at $80 plus tax per person. An additional $3.50 will be applied to buffets of less than 35 people. A bartender fee of $75 per bartender will be charged for all functions bar set-ups. Room set-ups that are changed after the room is set-up according to the Event Order are subject to an additional labor fee.

MENUSCatering menus, room arrangements and other details pertinent to your function should be submitted to your Catering Sales or Event Planning Manager at least thirty(30) days prior to you function date. Creativity is our specialty, and we will be pleased to custom design menus to best suit your needs.

MULTIPLE ENTREESIf you choose to have more than one entree for a plated function, you will be charged the higher price for all entrees. A maximum of three(3) entrees are allowed. The final number of entree is due along with your guarantee.

FOOD SERVICEThe Delta Hotels by Marriott Norfolk Airport is responsible for the quality and freshness of food served to its guests. Due to current health regulations, food may not be brought into the hotel and food may not be taken off the premises after it has been prepared and served.
