Accusations mar Legion’s annual meeting

A meeting that began with a moment’s silence and ended with a communal prayer was punctuated Sunday afternoon by accusations, fin-ger pointing and shouting.

The Sergeant of Arms serving at the annual general meeting of the Princeton Legion was summoned to remove one vocal member from the crowd, who later received permission to remain in the room in order to cast a ballot for the new executive.

“It’s sad,” said Ron MacKay, newly elected branch president. MacKay said he has never experienced a compa-rable meeting in 31 years of Legion membership. “It’s just really unfortu-nate.”

After regular agenda items were addressed tempers flared over charges from the floor that a Legion member had worn medals on his uniform that he did not earn as a veteran.

Greg Ghiloni, who recently renewed his Legion membership, brought the issue forward. “I would like the executive to take some action and do something about this,” he said. “The executive knows about this and has done nothing. I don’t understand why this is being hidden.

Several people rose to their feet to defend the member, while president Cliff Glover, who later lost a bid to return to the executive as Legion president, attempted to bring the meet-ing to order, asking for all comments to be directed to the chair. While two women faced each other across

the room shouting, one banging on the table, a man left the Legion hall proclaiming “I will defend myself in court.”

Glover told the crowd the mat-ter has already been referred to Royal Canadian Legion BC Yukon Command. “It’s too big for us,” he said.

Following the meeting, Legion zone commander Rick Lundin con-firmed an investigation into the alle-gations has been launched. “It’s under investigation, that’s all I can say. It’s being looked into.”

Sunday’s annual general meeting was the best-attended in the Legion’s recent memory, according to MacKay. Approximately 86 people crowded into the hall, forcing organizers to hastily set up several extra rows of chairs.

MacKay said normally the AGM draws a crowd of about 20 people, and he speculated the turnout was due to the general election.

“The reason people came out is because it’s the first time in many years that there has been one.”

MacKay’s name was put forward by the nominating committee, while Glover was nominated from the floor.

After MacKay was elected by secret ballot, Glover was again nomi-nated from the floor for the position of vice president but declined to stand.

“I would like to thank the people who support me, but I think I will continue in the role of past president,” he said.

Liquor sales up, but new roof eats into savings

and wreath campaign the Princeton Legion is facing a tough financial year.

Incoming president Ron MacKay, who was also this year’s poppy cam-paign chairperson, said a total of $9,498 was raised, $6,345 from the sale of wreaths and $3,052 from dona-tions to poppy boxes.

“This is a little down from last year but last year was exceptional,” he told the branch’s annual general meet-ing Sunday. In 2014 donations to the Legion spiked following the attack in Ottawa where two Canadian soldiers were killed, he said.

Following the meeting MacKay said the Legion took a financial hit in 2015 as it was required to replace the branch’s roof at a cost of $86,000. That expense ate up just over 50 per cent of the Legion’s investment accounts.

“They [the investments] were start-ed years ago as an emergency fund and this was a big emergency,” said MacKay.

Even without the unexpected capi-tal outlay, MacKay said the Princeton Legion struggles like many others to keep its programs and events up and running.

“A lot of Legions are suffering. There have been a couple of closures down on the coast.”

The Princeton Legion has 517 members but MacKay said “we only see about 60 of them” on a regu-lar basis, volunteering or supporting Legion fundraisers.

“Legions are struggling to get young people in, but we have a lot to offer,” he said.

Year to date the Legion lost $9,025, compared to a $7,653 loss for the same period in the previous year.

MacKay said the balance sheet should look a little healthier after a number of Christmas dinners being booked at the branch by local organi-zations and companies.

“Not many Legions make money in the spring and summer.”

The largest contributor to Legion coffers is its lounge, which has been slightly busier in the first nine months of 2015, with $181,949 in sales com-pared to $172,869 in 2014. Draft beer is the biggest seller, accounting for $70,762 in revenue, followed by bottled beer at $49,004 and liquor at $19,417.

Membership dues are flat to last year with $29,999 collected, but sig-nificantly up over 2012 when mem-berships brought in only $21,402.

Police hunt for residentPrinceton RCMP are asking for the public’s

assistance in locating a 30-year-old resident wanted on outstanding warrants related to possession of a prohibited weapon.

“We believe he is currently hiding from police,” said Sergeant Barry Kennedy.

Police are looking for Rodney Saddleman.“Anyone who has information about the location

of Saddleman is urged to contact police,” Kennedy said.

A would-be thief who cut the phone lines to Princeton Home Hardware in the early hours of Sunday morning abandoned efforts to break into the building.

Sergeant Barry Kennedy said the phone wires were cut in an attempt to disable the store’s alarm system.

“Anyone who saw anything suspicious around 4:30 am to 5 am is urged to call police,” he said.

Phone lines cut Friday November 13th turned

out to be a lucky day for a Keremeos resident who escaped injury in a collision with a cow.

The cow was in the middle of Highway 3 east of Hedley when it was hit by a vehicle.

The vehicle sustained more than $1,000 in damage The con-dition of the cow was unknown, said Sergeant Barry Kennedy.

Fans rally to pay for bird’s surgeryAndrea DeMeerSpotlight Staff

The Town of Princeton came to the rescue of its favorite bird last week, offering up more than enough donations to cover the cost of emergency surgery for Odin the Magpie.

Odin is recovering at home after having a toe amputated.

Odin’s “mother”, Rhonda Harrison, received a message last Tuesday from a local business owner who reported the famous bird was injured.

“When we saw Odin his whole chest had blood on it and he didn’t look so good,” said Harrison, who believed at first Odin had been shot.

A closer examination revealed Odin’s toe was nearly severed, pos-sibly from having his foot slammed in a door.

“We took him to the Cascade Veterinary Clinic. They assessed the situation and we had to make a decision whether to leave the toe and possibly have it infected or to amputate,” she said.

Because Odin is a wild bird, the risk of infection was too great, and Odin went into surgery with only a 50 per cent chance of survival.

“That was pretty scary,” said Harrison, explaining the danger was the effect of anesthetic on such a small bird. “It was not a very comforting number.”

The whole procedure took less than an hour and after nearly a

week of convalescing Odin is back to his old self, said Harrison.

“There were challenges. Do you know how hard it is to get a bird to take a dropper of medicine? The pain meds weren’t so hard because they are honey flavored and he didn’t mind it. He didn’t like the antibiotics at all so I had to trick him.”

Harrison raised Odin from a tiny baby, after she found him this summer injured and stuck in some wire in her backyard. As he grew to full size he became a fixture in Princeton neighborhoods, mak-ing daily rounds of back porches, school playgrounds, gas stations and lumber yards.

His travels – which for months took him away from Harrison’s fulltime care – are widely chron-icled and followed by the Life of Odin Facebook group, which has 442 members.

The cost of Odin’s surgery and follow up care was $360. When his fans heard the news of his injury they began dropping off donations at the vet clinic and his bill was paid in full. In fact, more donations were received than Odin needed, and they have been placed in the clinic’s “Angel” fund to help pro-vide services for animals if their owners cannot afford them.

“I swear half the town knows who Odin is,” said Harrison. “Everybody wanted to help and it was such an amazing feeling to have so many people care about something as small as this little bird.”

Harrison said doctors at the Cascade Vet Clinic were “amaz-ing…they even call every second day checking up on him.”

On Monday Odin felt well enough to venture outside – hav-ing gotten his very first glimpse of snow – and played until he got cold.

Odin is featured on handmade tote bags that can be purchased by contacting Harrison through Life of Odin on Facebook. The bags are $20, and $5 from each purchase will be donated to the Cascade Vet Clinic’s Angel fund.

No one is quite sure how Odin came to nearly sever a toe, and while he stood only a 50 per cent chance of surviving surgery he made it through with with flying colors.

Spotlight StaffAfter three years of hard work

Vermilion Trails Society has put the finishing touches on 114 km of improvements to the KVR rail bed to provide better access for users.

Grading along the trail was com-pleted last week, according to VTS president Bill Allinott.

“Generally speaking our section of the 114 [Trans Canada] km trail will be in the best shape it’s been in for the last 20 years.”

Allinott said the trail was left “in pretty rough shape” by Canadian Pacific and some stretches were basically impassable for walkers, cyclists and motorized vehicles.

The improvements, valued at $76,000, were achieved with the help of a $21,000 federal grant that was received by the Osprey Snowheelers club, plus donations in kind and volunteer labor.

About 18 society members vol-unteered to clear the trail of light and heavy bush before it was grad-ed.

While acknowledging that trail usage in the area is a contentious political issue for some, Allinott said the VTS maintains the trail for all types of users

“The trail looks good. We just want people to come out and use it.”

VICTORIA – We will soon learn what Premier Christy Clark and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau have in mind for Canada’s renewed effort to influence climate change.

As they prepare to join the 40,000 people jetting to Paris for the next big United Nations summit to deal with human impact on the world’s weather, here is some context for what is to come in December and beyond.

Foreign Affairs Minister Stéphane Dion served as envi-ronment minister under former Liberal prime minister Paul Martin. Then, as Liberal leader, Dion’s proposed “green shift” carbon tax was pivotal only in ending his leadership. With a majority government this time, he promises the entire federal cabinet will be involved.

Dion gave a revealing inter-view to The Globe and Mail last week about his experience in government.

“The old system was to give the file of the environment to the minister of the environment and say, ‘deal with it, be the hero of the environment groups, but don’t bother us because we

have jobs to cre-ate and an econ-omy to grow’,” Dion said. “That will not work.”

It certainly didn’t work, which is not surprising since Dion is admit-ting the Liberals considered the e n v i r o n m e n t ministry a mere public relations tool. This was the period when Canada signed on to the Kyoto Protocol, then pretended to care about it as the United States rejected it in a unanimous vote of Congress.

We now understand more about those environmen-tal groups, most funded by U.S. billionaires to target the Canadian oil and gas industry while the U.S. booms. Their tactics were on display in the defeat of the Keystone XL oil pipeline to the U.S., with arguments that even President Barack Obama acknowledged were exaggerated.

Dion’s ill-fated “green shift” wasn’t just about greenhouse gases. He intended to impose

a national carbon tax and use the pro-ceeds to eliminate child poverty.

This concept is back, on a global scale. If you’ve been to the mov-ies lately, you may have seen a slick animated commer-cial sponsored by the UN, featuring animals running

the world from the seats of the General Assembly. “We have a plan,” trumpets the elegant llama at the podium, not only to fix climate change but to eliminate poverty as well.

One problem with Kyoto was that it left emerging econ-omies like China and India untouched. And while Canada endures false allegations of sub-sidizing fossil fuels, actual sub-sidies are huge in petro-states like Venezuela, Saudi Arabia, Iran, Algeria and Indonesia, where gasoline sells on average at a third of Canadian prices.

China and India’s carbon emissions have about tripled since the Kyoto public relations gesture in 1997. That growth is

one reason why Canada’s share of global emissions has now fallen to below two per cent.

Here in B.C., Clark intends to unveil her “Climate 2.0” plan before heading to Paris. We’ll see if it includes another increase in B.C.’s vaunted car-bon tax, which now translates to about seven cents on a litre of gasoline.

Even without carbon taxes, about a third of the pump price Canadians pay is federal, pro-vincial and local tax. In Metro Vancouver, it’s closer to 40 per cent. In Venezuela, a big win-ner in the Keystone XL deci-sion, gas sells for around two cents a litre.

The B.C. government admits its post-carbon tax reduction in greenhouse gas emissions was largely due to the global reces-sion of 2008-09. Now with crude oil at historic low prices, B.C.’s carbon tax is a weak sig-nal lost in the noise of a world-wide glut of oil and gas.

Green shift returns, goes global

Instruction to protect children from “cyberbully-ing” should be included in B.C.’s new school curric-ulum, according to a new report from the province’s independent child welfare and privacy officers.

The B.C. government’s school anti-bullying pro-gram was put in place in June 2012. Four months later, 15-year-old Amanda Todd posted a video of her online treatment before she killed herself at her Port Coquitlam home, putting an international face on the dangers faced by young people socializing online.

In 2013, Nova Scotia teen Rehtaeh Parsons was also driven to suicide after explicit pictures of her were circulated on social media. Representative for Children and Youth Mary Ellen Turpel-Lafond and Information and Privacy Commissioner Elizabeth Denham surveyed the laws and strategies in place inside and outside B.C. since then.

“The circumstances leading to the deaths of these two young women highlight the significant pain and suffering young people can endure when they are faced with repeated cruel treatment by their peers through online means,” Denham and Turpel-Lafond conclude.

Their report, presented Friday to the B.C. gov-ernment, calls for more measures in schools in addition to the ERASE (Expect Respect And a Safe Education) strategy put in place in 2012. That strat-egy provides for anonymous reporting by students or parents of bullying, either online or in person.

The report calls for the education ministry to “ensure that developmentally appropriate learning objectives about cyberbullying and digital citizen-ship be included in the provincial school curriculum and delivered to all school-age children as soon as possible.”

Education Minister Mike Bernier said Friday the new school curriculum, which began implementa-tion this fall, already includes “a focus on bullying behaviour and discrimination starting in Grade 4.”

Bernier said in a statement the ministry has developed resources for teachers, with course objec-tives for different grades “about cyberbullying, internet safety, privacy and security, relationships and communication.”

Denham and Turpel-Lafond cite research show-ing that 99 per cent of young people have online access outside of school, and that by Grade 11, more than half sleep with their phones nearby so they can exchange messages at night. They caution against parental efforts to monitor young people’s commu-nications around the clock, or to cut off their access.

“For young people, halting use of social media, websites, cellphones or email accounts is an imprac-tical solution,” the report states. “It would be equiva-lent to house arrest and social deprivation.”

There are fish stories. And there are fish stories.

The DeMeer family – which at times has been bound together with little more than hooks, lines and sinkers – has a large archive of angling tales.

My favorite ones reside in dusty tomes – memories of carrying smelly little boys from the dock up the dark stairs to their cottage beds above the boat house on Balsam Lake in Ontario’s Kawarthas, after they’d fallen asleep in camp chairs with fingers still clutch-ing their poles and muttering “Just one more cast. Just one more cast.”

A close finalist in the best fishing memo-ries category unfolded on the same dock one July Friday evening, when a quartet of bearded and disgruntled (also smelly) men disembarked from a small boat and stumped off towards their own campfires. A distant voice called:

He’s always been the most passionate, some could say freakish, of the boys about

fishing. No doubt there exists a spectrum with an explanation.

From a young age he fished in every condition. Hurricane winds, thunder, lightning, debili-tated from flu, or enveloped in a mushroom cloud of mosquitos. The mantra was always the same.

Just one more cast.One of the things that’s most

surprising about the way the boys pursued their fishing interests as they got older is the levels of sub-terfuge they are willing to plumb for success.

Fishing stories? Some of them ought to be written by Tom Clancy.

Serious fishing is not the way you’d be forgiven for imagining it – a healthy and social out-of-doors activity that lends itself to making friends with similar interests, enjoy-ing a shared knowledge of nature and skills and celebrating one another’s triumphs, com-miserating with common defeat.

Camping, maybe that’s more like camp-ing.

Fishing DeMeer style is cutthroat, suspi-cious, and always highly secretive.

This first began to develop near our home in Ontario, at a popular trout fishing venue about a kilometer from town – Whiteman’s

Creek. (Yeah, it’s really called Whiteman’s Creek but don’t look at me. I didn’t come up with the name.)

A destination for trout fish-ers from across the province Whiteman’s was literally in our own backyard and there wasn’t an inch of that shore-line, not one rock, not one pool or rapid or eddy, that the boys didn’t know intimately.

They understood every “spot” on the river that was prime for fishing, and they

protected that knowledge like it was the recipe for Coca-Cola, or the codes to the mis-sile silos.

Rule number one: never admit to another angler on the creek that you have caught a fish at a “spot.” A natural opening for fishers meeting along the bank is the seemingly-innocent question: Any luck?

Nope. Nada. Nothing.I have witnessed my teenage son declare

“not even a nibble” to complete and well meaning strangers, while just behind him a 28” steelhead is doing backflips under a hastily-arranged rain poncho.

The same child has been known to attempt stuffing a chain full of eaters down his pants,

on his way back to the truck, in attempt to hide the location of a good “spot.”

Rule number two: protect a good spot at all costs, even if it means misdirecting others to “spots” that are complete duds.

Heard some guys were doing pretty good up near the bridge this morning. (No one ever caught a fish up near the bridge. Even I know that.)

Another method often employed by the boys, when trying to discourage other fishers from lingering, is for one of them to shift into wild-cast gear.

That middle boy – the freakish one – is best at it, possibly because some of the big-gest catches in his young life include the dog, and a large inflatable raft piloted by five - eventually hysterical – teenaged girls.

When he starts casting recklessly all who value sight in both their eyes give him a wide berth.

Naturally the Similkameen Valley, with its almost embarrassing abundance of rivers and lakes, provides endless opportunities for the boys to pursue their hobby. We have dined – and lunched and breakfasted – on more fresh trout in the past year than we consumed all told in the previous two decades.

Would love to tell you where we are get-ting all that fish.

But then someone would have to kill me.

Sitting at the round table in our sun room this week, Richmond attorney Veronica Armstrong talked about her life and her legal practice. She had given a free presentation on wills and personal planning at the Hedley Seniors’ Centre Saturday evening. Linda and I invited her to come for coffee before returning to her home Monday morning.

“My husband and I moved to Canada from South Africa in 1998,” she told us. “Our home was in Johannesburg, a leading financial centre at the time. We came for our three children. There was a lot of crime. We didn’t want them to have to look over their shoulders all the time.”

As with many immigrants, the move proved to be difficult for her. Having experienced the end of Apartheid, she had very much wanted to be part of the transi-tion to a more equitable society. Not knowing many people in her new community, she felt deeply lonely. Also, in spite of solid legal experience in the financial realm in South Africa, finding employment in Canada was challenging.

Veronica is fluent in English and Afrikaans, and also speaks enough Cantonese to get by. “In South Africa I worked for a huge bank,” she said. “I was head of the bank’s international legal division. When I looked for work in Canada, employers intimated I had come from some remote backwater. The only job I could get initially was at a Taco Time.”

In 1999 the B.C. Securities Commission advertised a position. The competition had actually closed a week earlier, but she called and asked if she could still apply. When she told them she had considerable experience with derivatives, they

instructed her to fax her resume immediately. They were looking at applications that afternoon.

Veronica was hired and worked for the Commission from 1999-2007, then joined a start-up compa-ny in real estate. When the crash of 2008 killed the company, she found-ed her own law practice, Veronica Armstrong Law Corporation, and started over. Her focus now is pri-marily on wills and personal plan-ning, including power of attorney and representative agreements. She also does some small business contracts. All her clients, many of whom are women, come to her by referral. “Sometimes they just need to talk about their planning,” she said. “When they know they have done it right, they can relax.”

I asked Veronica what basic counsel she has for people. “Wills aren’t important just for people up in age,” she said. “It‘s a good idea for younger people to have a will too. Also, review the will, espe-cially when there has been a major change such as a birth or a death in the family. Begin to have a con-versation with the executor of your will or whoever has the power of attorney. Make your wishes known. Deal with legal and financial mat-ters.”

“It’s also a good idea to have a Representative Agreement,” she continued. “This puts in writing your wishes concerning personal care and health care.” Legal advice is important so it’s done right, she suggested.

We then went on to ask Veronica further about her interests and activities away from her office. She smiled broadly as she talked with great enthusiasm about her three children. There was also excite-ment inher voice when she told us about her role in music at the church she attends. “There are about

3,000 families,” she said. “We have people from the Philippines, Goa (India), Africa and China, as well as many Caucasians.” She sings in two choirs and leads one church choir. Music is a joy and she contin-ues to take voice lessons. Sensing her excitement when she talked about the church involvement, it

was easy to conclude this is where she finds a great deal of inclusion and fulfillment.

When I asked about her purpose in life, she said, “I tried to figure this out for about a year. Now I understand that my purpose is to love. I smile at people a lot when I’m out walking. Some smile back.

Some probably think I’m crazy.” When we bade her goodbye, she

smiled and gave us each a warm hug. An attorney whose interest goes far beyond wills and con-tracts, she does indeed love people. It’s easy to smile when Veronica smiles.

Tulameen Fire Truck Acquisition Loan Authorization Bylaw No. 2704, 2015 Notice of Alternative Approval Process

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN pursuant to Section 86 of the Community Charter, that the Board of Directors of the Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen seek the approval of the electors with the boundaries of Tulameen Fire Prevention and Suppression Service Area of the Regional District for the adoption of Tulameen Fire Truck Acquisition Loan Authorization Bylaw No. 2704, 2015.

In general terms, the bylaw is to authorize the borrowing upon the credit of the Regional District a sum not more than two hundred thirty thousand dollars ($2230,000)for the purpose of acquiring and have installed all such materials as may be requisite or desirable in connection with the purchase of a fire truck in and for the Tulameen Fire Prevention and Suppression Service Area.

The alternative approval process applies to qualified electors within the Tulameen Fire Prevention and Suppression Service Area.

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE THAT the Regional District may proceed with the approval of Tulameen Fire Truck Acquisition Loan Authorization Bylaw No. 2704, 2015 unless at least ten percent (10%) of the qualified electors (those meeting the criteria below) within the Tulameen Fire Prevention and Suppression Service Area indicate their opposition by signing the Elector Response Form.

The Regional District has estimated the total number of qualified electors in the service area to be 963 and that 10% of that number, or 96 qualified electors, must submit signed Elector Response Forms to prevent the Regional District from adopting the bylaw without the full assent of the electors by referendum.

An elector response form must be in the form established by the Regional District. Elector Response Forms are available from the Regional District office, including by mail, fax, or email, on request or on the Regional District website at www.rdos.bc.ca.

The deadline for delivering the original signed Elector Response Form to the Regional District is 4:30 pm on December 21, 2015.

The only persons entitled to sign an Elector Response Form are those who meet the following criteria:

Resident electors must: (a) be 18 years of age or older; (b) be a Canadian citizen; (c) be a resident of British Columbia, for at least 6 months; (d) be a resident of the Tulameen Fire Prevention and Suppression Service Area for at least 30

days; and (e) not be disqualified by an Provincial enactment, or otherwise disqualified by law, from voting

in an election. Non-Resident property electors must:

(a) not be entitled to register as a resident elector of the Tulameen Fire Prevention and Suppression Service Area;

(b) be 18 years of age or older; (c) be a Canadian citizen; (d) be a resident of British Columbia, for at least 6 months; (e) be a registered owner of real property in the jurisdiction for at least 30 days; (f) not be disqualified by any Provincial enactment or otherwise disqualified by law, from

voting in an election; and (g) only register as a non-resident property elector in relation to one parcel of real property in a

jurisdiction. The bylaw is available for public inspection at the Regional District Office 101 Martin Street, Penticton, BC V2A 5J9, during regular office hours, or alternatively, on our website at www.rdos.bc.ca. For more information on the alternative approval process please contact:

Day Services , as I have each and every year, regardless of the city, town or village I’m residing in at the time. This year I attended in the Village of Keremeos.

I come from a family with a strong Military background and I was involved with the deploy-ment of Non-Military Support personnel.

My family, as did so many oth-ers, fought for our rights and were willing to sacrifice their lives for this freedom.

There are those that will offer an opinion that will make your blood boil and as much as we may disagree, we will fight and defend their rights to offer their opinion.

At the service there was a local journalist beside me taking photos reporting on this solemn and special occasion. I couldn’t help but notice the jornalist tak-ing photos during the two minutes of silence as the clicking of her camera was the only sound that was heard.

This Journalist was there rep-resenting the paper and reporting for those that could not attend. it is my opinion that the 2 min-

utes of silence should have been observed by her out of respect for the subject of which she was reporting on. I was appalled at this disrespectful behaviour.

Did she have the right to ignore the moment of silence - yes!

Do I have the right to voice my

opinion on her behaviour - yes!Please journalists if you are

reporting on a delicate subject set an example and do so with dignity and respect. The people you are reporting on deserve it!!!!

Local artist unveils new gallery this weekend

new business in town that will be opening on November 21.

The name is Red Post Art and the propri-etor is Kathy Schneider. Many may know her as an artist who has done excellent watercolour

portraits of several of our local citizens. She also works in acrylics and more recently, with coloured inks on a vari-ety of substrates.

Kathy is a self taught artist who enjoys testing the different mediums, experimenting with techniques. For many

years Kathy had a stu-dio space at Riverside Centre with potter Sue Delatour and multi-media artist Merrilyn Huycke which allowed her to share ideas, mate-rials and methods in an

inspired group setting. However, for the past

several months, Kathy and her husband John have been renovating the old Similkameen Vending building, creat-ing a wonderful space

full of light and energy for her to work on her paintings, collages and drawings. Even though she has the proverbial day job, she will be working in this lovely space as often as pos-

sible. She also hopes to see other artists feel comfortable to drop in to paint, sketch or discuss ideas in a group.

Kathy is delighted to be opening her studio to the public on November

21 and 22. Best of all, she is proud to be a host for the first Princeton Art Walk, providing maps and simple refreshments on Saturday, November 21 and November 22.
