Dear Sorors, Philos and Rhoers:

It is my pleasure to announce that the 61st Western Regional

Conference will be hosted by the Long Beach Chapters of Gamma Tau

Sigma Alumnae Chapter and Gamma Kappa Undergraduate Chapter in

the beautiful city of Torrance, California. The conference will be held

at the Torrance Marriott South Bay, adjacent to the Del Amo Fashion Mall, the fifth largest mall in the

United States.

Arrive to the conference hotel a little early, or stay a little later, to enjoy the surrounding local

attractions:

This conference will provide workshops on important topics that will strengthen our chapters,

members and affiliates, as well as, highlight our premier national projects. These projects include; the

National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy, A3 for Life (HIV/AIDS), USA

Swimming, St. Jude Children’s Research and Project Reassurance.

It is a conference that you will not want to miss, as we are “Uplifting Our Legacy of Sisterhood,

Leadership and Service”.

We are trying something new this year! The Western Region is using a professional conference

administrative system called Eventbrite. In addition, members and affiliates will have the option of

using a payment plan when paying your respective “regular” registration fees.

Payment Plan Option Members and affiliates have the option of utilizing a payment plan for regular conference registration fees. Guidelines for the regular conference registration payment plan option are as follows: First installment must be paid/received (if registering by

mail) on or before the end of the early bird registration period (Jan. 28, 2013). Once the early bird registration period ends, Sorors and affiliates wishing to register for the conference must do so at the regular or late registration rates and must pay in full at the time of registration.

Second and final installment must be paid/received (if registering by mail) on or before the end of the regular registration period (Feb. 27, 2013). If the second payment is not made by on or before the end of the regular registration period, the first installment payment will be forfeited.

Additional Ticket Sales Additional event tickets are available, while supplies last. There will be no onsite ticket sales. Please purchase additional tickets in advance.

Cancellations / Refunds All payments are non-refundable. At the discretion and approval of the Syntaktes, the funds can be used as a credit with the Region, and must be used within a year (365 days) of the date approval was received. Credits not used by the approved date will expire. All requests for credits must be received by April 26, 2013 Hotel Accommodations The Torrance Marriott South Bay is the conference host hotel. Reservations can be made by calling (800) 228-9290. The reservation code to make room reservation is RHORHOA. The hotel is located at 3635 Fashion Way, Torrance, California 90503. Room Rates The room rate is $129.00 plus taxes for single, double, triple, and quadruple occupancy. Your confirmation number will be provided directly to you by the hotel. Check-in is at 4:00 P.M. and check-out is at 12:00 P.M. Please refrain from making reservations through travel agencies or online without the sorority code as such will reduce our contractual numbers and the resulting discounts/concessions. Hotel Parking There is a $7.00 daily charge for on-site self parking and $17.00 daily charge for on-site valet parking. Ground Transportation For shuttle transportation from the Los Angeles Airport arrangements have been made with SuperShuttle Van Service. The cost of transportation is $14.00 each way.
