Lord Jesus Christ, you are the way of peace. Come into the brokenness of our lives and our land with your healing love By the fire of your Holy Spirit, melt our hard hearts and consume the pride and prejudice which separate us. Fill us O Lord, with your perfect love which casts out fear and bind us together in that unity which you share with the Divine Creator and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

In many offices, a working knowledge of text-speak is becoming de rigueur. And at home, parents need to know the lingo in order to keep up with—and sometimes police—their children. Users have developed an alphabet soup of shorthand abbreviations to save time, and their thumbs. Taking time to learn the jargon may seem like a WOMBAT (“Waste of money, brains and time), but you run the risk of feeling out of it, if you don’t.

President’s Message By SVP Susan Ringol Hello fellow Greenbelters! Modesty aside, I think our induction was really great! Thanks to the support and cooperation of our Club members and benefactors. The district officers and guests were equally commendable for giving us their time of day and full attention during the event. There’s a saying ‘Strike while the iron is Hot”, so we implemented one of our humanitarian projects right away. Last August 31, we trooped to Quezon City with little snacks and a big smile for the elderlies we visited. My heartfelt gratitude to Rtn Ana & her granddaughter Allyson, Rtn Au, Rtn Manny, PP Sioni, PP Sessie, PP Maricel & PP Evelyn who joined me in this activity. This month, we will co-host the New Generation Conference, a district activity for the youth. September is the new generations month and special emphasis is given to the rotary sponsored programs for the young people. Please encourage your children to join and learn on Sept 12 at the University of Makati. Thanks to PP Sioni who joined me in the New Gen committee meeting at Rockwell last night. She will coordinate with prospective Rotaractors to participate in this activity. Another district activity which we will co-host is the Prism Literacy Summit, on Sept 10. Please come and see as we showcase the Literacy Projects of the different Rotary Clubs in the district. We have also lined up the implementation of our book donation projects next week. We will do this right after our lunch meeting in the Ortigas area as the beneficiary schools are just nearby. I am hoping all our members would make time for these activities for if we put our little time and effort together, we could do great things for a better future.Viva RC Makati Greenbelt! Viva Rotary!

HELP LEGACY PROJECT continued…
The elderlies enjoyed the visit immensely and the Rotarians had great bonding as well. The eldest, aged 98 and 93 are both mothers of PP Sessie’s classmates. The elderlies at Wellness Place above were so happy to see us but wish to remain anonymous.
