Now that Christmas is coming, can you spare a minute to tear off all your used postage stamps and put them in my letterbox at 2 Rose Villa, Westgate Street, Shouldham? The stamps are passed on to Mr Clark of Swaffham for the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital; funds raised go to help children with leukaemia. The postcards are sent to the Radio Norfolk Deaf Children Appeal. I would like to thank Lilian Mummery, Adele Berryman, Olive Ramshaw, Jenny Malby and Jane McIntosh for so much support over the years with their stamps.

Looking forward to receiving your stamps and postcards in the New Year

Holiday in IrelandNext year, from 5th to 12th June, the Bowls Club will be organising a holiday in Ireland. The trip will include eight days’ stay in Killarney. The coach will depart from the club and there will be no other pick-ups, apart from Downham Market.

The price of the holiday is £407 per person – which includes bus from the club, ferry, seven nights’ half-board accommodation, three full-day tours from Killarney, plus insurance.

There are only six places left, so phone Elsie (347636) or ask at the bar soon if you’re interested in going. A single supplement of £120 is payable, so it’s best to share.

Keys foundA set of keys was found inside St Martin’s school gates just after the half-term holidays. They look like rather special car keys, featuring a jaguar. If you think they’re yours, please ask for Lorraine at the school office.

Lift-off for Sunday school!

Sunday school is up and running at St Martin at Shouldham school, from 10.30am to 11.30am every Sunday in term time. We would love to see any children aged between three and 11 that are interested in some fun on a Sunday morning in the school hall (or in the new nursery if it’s freezing cold!). For further information feel free to contact Susan Matthews (347848) or Claire Atterbury (347552).

Twickenham beckons for Monty!Congratulations to Monty Maule, an old boy of

Shouldham School and Shouldham Football Club, who has been selected to attend Eastern Counties

rugby training commencing in the new year following successful trials. Monty has already

been representing West Norfolk Rugby Club at U15level and has played at county level for the

past couple of seasons.
