Location 1 – The Green RoomThe ‘Green Room’ is a facility at Wyke 6th Form College that is available to students who study Media and Film. I will be using this location to use the white cover over the green screen. I have chosen this location because of the three point lighting system, which will give me more clear and vibrant shots. I am also using it because it’s the best place to set up cameras and equipment, it is also private and available for booking time slots which means I am certain to have time to film at this location. It was also only a room away from the Media Technician who was there to help if I had any problems. My main caution for when I am filming is that I will be transporting a heavy fish tank filled with water in a place that is surrounded by electrics – the lights and wires on the floor.

Location 2 – My HouseI will be filming at my house as I need a basic wall for the background behind the artist in my video. It is also advantageous as I will have all of the equipment, makeup and costumes that I need at home. I also have unlimited time here as I do not need to book a time slot. My only concern is the lighting as there will only be electrical lighting (compared to three point lighting) and natural source lighting from the window. Although as I will be buying a UV torch I will be able to experiment whether it will be a successful source of lighting. I will also be able to play the song repeatedly and louder so that my artist can lip sync and feel the mood of the song. I will also be filming the ink in water shots here.

Location 3 – Barton Nature ReserveThis location is great for an abstract music video as there are no other people around so the video can easily have no narrative and be completely focussed on the artist. There are really pretty areas to shoot both natural and manmade locations. The bird watching huts have a warm wood setting which makes a great background and is naturistic which is relaxing and conforms the indie genre. The ponds are also a good location as the water links to the ink in water idea. The paths create a very hippie/psychedelic feel to the video especially as it is within the trees and a very symmetrical shot, unfortunately with it being Winter there will be no leaves on the trees.
