Are you a traveller who always – besides the main sights - discovers the destination through its culinary life? Then it is your trip!

The tour goes through four stages of ‘picks and bites’ so to let you taste as much of the Hungarian specialities as you can take. Between stops, your underguide will present you plenty of exciting, ‘must-see’ and hidden spots of the city.

The main stages

Central Market Hall: Have you ever tasted the Lángos (scone with garlic and sour cream) with a local drink? Stuffed cabbage? ‘Winter salami’ with our sweet yellow-green fresh paprika? Did you know that we eat lot of pickles made out of every possible vegetable? Do you know how zsömle or kifli – the basic local sandwich bread types – looks and tastes?

A famous Ruin Bar (Jewish district): we will taste Unicum or Pálinka, wash it down with a fröccs (like spritzer), beer or the good old grape-based soft drink, Traubisoda; and taste the most surprising local snacks: zsíroskenyér (bread and dripping) and paprika or with a spicy cottage cheese cream.

‘Hentes’ (butcher): grilled sausage or the Hungarian speciality black-pudding with crispy white bread, mustard and pickles – all carnivores of Hungary, from business people to brick-layers, eat them from time to time standing in the ‘Hentes’! A drink is also included.

Sweet dreams: we will finish the day with either a typical cake in a lovely classic café of Andrássy Avenue or with a kosher cake in a famous patisserie of the Jewish district. A coffee or tea is also included.

Bike around Budapest

Bike around Budapest just like the locals do! The underguides will meet the guests

downtown and give out the bikes, helmets and a classic Hungarian soft drink for the route. For safety reasons and to ensure a pleasant sightseeing the group will be divided in smaller teams (8-15 people per team) and all of them will have a guide. Teams will do the same route and will meet at joint stops.

If the team is looking for a sporty program the route can lead to the Buda side and up to the Castle district or if you would like to go for an easier route we suggest you to say on the Pest side and visit all important sights from the Main Market Hall to the Heroes’ square.

Version 1. Art Nouveau in the City Park

Most of Budapest’s landscape was shaped in the last third of the 19th, beginning of the 20th century. Art Nouveau features as a prominent style of this ‘belle époque’ stretching till 1914. A Hungarian master of European calibre, Ödön Lechner (1845-1914), has been tagged the Hungarian Gaudí. Cladding modern functionality in richly decorated robes, he relied on Oriental, mostly Indian elements. Answering his pupils’ query as to what use was there of an ornate tile design (Postal Savings Bank) on a roof no one can see, he replied: ‘The birds can…’

We are going to take a walk in one of the two main Art Nouveau quarters, the City Park’s surroundings, and learn about legends surrounding the buildings, and the lives of their creators.

Gellért Bath and Hotel is unquestionably an iconic Art Nouveau building in Budapest, adored by both locals and visitors. Version 3.Famous Hungarian Women

The program begins with a sightseeing part – bus, boat or walking, depending on your request – where besides allowing guests to discover the city and its history, our guides will tell interesting stories about famous Hungarian women and famous women with strong relations to Hungary. What is the connection between Sophia Loren and the Basilica? Where did Andrea Rost the world famous soprano get married in town? Who is the most popular Hungarian female politician and why? Precision, timing, team work and creativity have never been as important anywhere as in the film industry… The challenge is big, time is short and everybody must be working 200% to reach the dream result together!

Generally an AD shooting needs 1-2 weeks preparation and at least 2-3 complete days of shooting, while professionals works out and realize every little element of those eye-catching 30 seconds. This time your entire team participates in making a complete shooting, (from the set building, through the makeup ‘till the special effects), an AD, a clip or just a shortcut in no more than a few hours – it’s almost a new Guinness record!

Dresses and props will all be available for the guests as all roles – director, PA-s, makeup artists, stylists, actors, camera assistants, etc – will be ‘played’ by participants depending on which role they picked at the beginning! Underguide will have prepared the entire works’ creative and time schedule and will control all the work flow to make things run smooth. Professional equipment and support teams will of course be there to help teams work, but the short cut has to be implemented by the people of the company.

‘Backstage’ photos can be presented at the end of the program, while the final short cut or clip can be presented on the day after following some post shooting technical work and cutting by professionals. The game will take place in the hotel or conference venue. Everybody receives a quiz, a quiz that they can answer correctly only if they get to know each other better, only if they manage in a very short time to discover who is a ‘champion’ in what in his / her private life!

championship when he /she was 14?) The game will be similar to a ‘rapid date’: everybody will have 1 minute to ask questions to each person. The rule is that you can’t of

course ask direct questions as they are written in the quiz – you have to be smarter! After an hour, when everybody has talked to everybody, we will together find out the correct answers so everybody will know who was a champion in what?!

Dragon Boat challenge under the sights of Budapest

Dragon boat is a very long and narrow canoe-style human-powered boat. It is now used in

the team paddling sport of dragon boat racing which originates from China from 2000 years ago. During this program, the guest would be divided into teams of 20 people. The

challenge would be organized among the teams in elimination race system.

After a half an hour instruction and safety session teams will have a short practice time and the challenge on the Danube can begin! The challenge covers a 200-300 m. long way, so it makes a real contest among the teams but does not make guests too tired.

This tour is absolutely environment-friendly. It does not emit harmful gases, it is absolutely green and it is also an excellent fitness activity. For security reasons, motor boats will follow the dragon boats during the whole trip.

Carriage driving competition

Arriving to the place of the competition which will be a completely authentic and profession-ally built course will already bring goose bumps for the upcoming competitors. To release the stress they will have our famous spirit, pálinka as a welcome drink. After the

course will be shown to competitors they may begin to practice and complete it. At the end of the competition the winner and the runner-ups are awarded and all the participants get their personal participation deed. Urban Picture Hunt & Sightseeing

Discover the legend behind the scene and win the creative picture taking contest! During the program each group will have its own underguide who will make sure that they won’t miss the must-see spots in town and in the meantime will support the group in completing the challenge. The game’s main target is to take 2-3 pictures but there will be criteria they have to follow. The group does not just have to be on the photo but the colleagues themselves will be the ‘stars’ of the pictures. They should do something that is typical to Budapest (driving a public bus, be a waiter in a local bar, be a salesman in a local shop, be a ticket controller on a tram…) and that normally only locals do. At last

but not at least, somehow the company (product, message or something you determine) should be involved in the picture in a creative way: it can be the theme of the picture or the name can feature

in it, but in a general way it should be a complete message of the chosen topic (picture theme can also be determinated by client – product or event message, company motto, etc).

At the end of the tour, groups meet again, show their photos, give explanations, sing the new rhythm or perform anything else related to the pictures and a jury or a vote decides which is the best picture.

Besides the main sights, on the way, the under-guides also introduce the curiosities and ‘never heard’ urban legends of the city, typically interesting ordinary details or special ’tales’ about Budapest, the locals, Hungary or the Hungarians. Underguides know many legends about Budapest and will also prepare special stories to support their teams in the challenge.

On the way of the city discovery program, to teach participants more effectively they will also ‘mix’ true and false stories but will of course let participants know about it soon after they believed it…

Every group will have to choose a true story that sounds ‘unbelievable’ but is still real and will also have to invent one! Upon arrival to the venue of the event or bar every group will have to present 2 stories: 1 true story and one

that has been invented. The 2 other groups will have to decide which one is true and which one is false. Points will be given to the groups whose false story is voted to be true. At the end of the program Budapest will be ‘Your eternal love’ …you never know if it is true or false… You will only know it is fantastic!

Treasure Hunt around the city

Treasure hunts are always great fun especially if when combined with the discovery of a new city – in our case Budapest.

The group will be split into smaller teams (6-10 people/ team), all teams receive secret codes and indices and their task is to find the treasures and put together the pieces of the ‘puzzle’ hidden around the city centre. In order to find the treasure, guests will have to cooperate within their teams but they will also have to get in touch with locals!

All participants will get a small souvenir of the program but the award goes to the quickest ones – the winning team!

Please note that if we receive it a few weeks before the program date, a company message can be integrated in the treasure hunt or the complete game concept can be built around it. Contact your coordinator to discuss details!

At the end of the program all teams meet again in a cool bar of Budapest where everybody is our guest for a drink, winner team is announced and awards are given out by our animator.

The Buda Castle is not just a building – it is an entire district with lovely small houses from medieval style to real baroque beauties. The UNESCO World heritage protected Castle district is nestled on a hill overlooking the Danube and the city of Budapest . It is a favourite of travellers seeking for car-free walking areas and a breathtaking fairy tale atmosphere.

The district has seen good time and bad times

during centuries. There was even a time when the Turkish Empire tried to conquer it, but Hungarian defences resisted for a long time… then the Habsburgs came to liberate

Hungarians from Turkish invaders… and became conquerors themselves… It is now time to learn about these ages while overwriting these hard historic times with a game consisting of 3 teams: Hungarians, Turks and Habsburgs!

The goal of the Conquest game is to find the crown that grants the winning team power over the Castle… but to find it they will have to be smarter and quicker than the 2 other teams! Plenty of indices and challenges will be awaiting teams all around the Castle District – they will have to collect and solve them to find out where the crown is hidden! The game

involves plenty of interesting facts & legends about the Castle and the Turk-Habsburg area so you will both play & discover! But take care: everybody will wear a number endorsed and if the number is read by the opponent teams you may be out of the game, meaning your team will have to accomplish the task without you! Those falling out of the game shouldn’t be disappointed either: they will be awaited by our team for a drink in the wine tasting cellar before everybody arrives. When time is over or the crown is found the group unites again for the award presentation ceremony to the winning team!

Plein Air Painting

Creative thinking and giving birth to artworks is something every one of us is capable of learning and doing, there is no need for extra talent, artistic skills or formal qualifications. In this program we offer professional background to an unforgettable Plan Air Painting session, where the applicants can forget everything else and

enjoy being together and outdoor, discovering and capturing the organic shapes or iconic views of

Budapest, its lights and its colours. In the case of rainy weather we can move inside and paint interior and still life paintings.

On our Plan Air Painting Art Class we start with some creative drawing games to break the ice. It follows a short introduction to colors, their mixing and guidelines to create a good composition. Then everyone looks for his/her own theme and starts painting with gouash on primed board using his/her own easle! At the end applicants can take their paintings home and it can become an excellent follow up to your event making an office exposition out of it!

The program is animated by a young Hungarian Form design and Visual Art Teacher.

The program is always a huge success even with participants having already tried and seen a multitude of team building games.

Pig Slaughtering is a traditional feast in some European countries like it has been for centuries in Hungary too. The atmosphere of this ritual is magical, for some maybe it will be a little bit naturalistic but for sure it will become a lifetime memory for everybody. Traditionally this event is held when the weather gets colder somewhere deep in the lovely countryside of Hungary. Since it’s an open-air program you have to be prepared for that but do not worry, you will be warmly welcome by our ‘fence-ripper’ spirit -Pálinka - which will relax you. The second one will warm & cheer you up which will be served in the honour of the slaughtered pig. For those who would like to see the actual slaughter, it’s possible, you just have to wake up early and have an extra Pálinka!

After the spirits, the work should be started and all hands will be needed! You will be able to see how to make and season the traditional Hungarian black pudding and sausage, how to cut up the parts and prepare them for smoking it and of course during procedure for breakfast you can taste previous slaughter’s ham, lard, and sausages with fresh homemade bread. You’ll have great fun eating, drinking pálinka and mulled wine till the end of the day in friendly and warm company. And the highlight of the day is just about to come: the feast is crowned by the dinner with roasted sausages and black pudding which will be probably the freshest and the most organic meat you have ever tasted in your life!

Our team will welcome the guests on the North shore of Lake Balaton in a lovely yacht port. After a nice light lunch and a short briefing we form teams and will take a sailboat with professional skippers and head out to the Hungarian sea for a private race, a real

regatta!

The race will be monitored by professional judges and a safety boat. Winners will be

given an award during the dinner and pictures taken under the race by our professional photographer will be sent to all participants after the trip.

The Sailing adventure and race is a rather sporty program as guests seriously have to take part in the sailing tasks with of course no danger to encounter. It is great fun and

a pretty chic’ way to get the team together within one day. Fantastic views, fresh breeze and a fun challenge – teams will be ready for dinner after the race!

In case of good weather, while in the middle of the lake, the yacht captain may decide to allow swimming from the boat which is an incredible amount fun!

Bloody Office

Bloody Office is a team building game with fake ‘murders’. The point is that everyone gets a task (a ’way of killing’ – ex: Make Martin taste your cocktail…Sing a song together with Susan…) and the name of a colleague (’the victim’). You have to make an elaborate and creative plan and make

your colleague do this task – of course, without him/her

noticing it! If you succeed your ’victim’ is out of the game i.e. ‘dead’ and you take over his/her task. There can be only one in the end! But take care while planning your murder… you are hunted by someone as well…

It is an excellent game for participants who did not know each other before event to get acquainted with each other (the first task is to find your victim and get in touch with him/her without getting suspected) and a unique team building exercise to support self-organised team work, as for most tasks, you will need helpers.

The game can be set for different levels of difficulty and can be a fun complimentary program for a few hours during company dinners or parties or can last an entire week during a longer workshop or in the office. Shorter games are handled onsite by our animators while longer games can be handled through our online ’Bloody Office’ platform.

This game can be adopted to any of our sightseeing program. You arrive to a previ-ously arranged spot in the city then we form groups of cc. 6-7 guests/ team, we give a map and a 1 Euro budget to every participant and rules will be explained. After that all teams will have to complete 3 challenges within a half an hour independently and than arrive to the final ruin pub meeting point where the game will be evaluated and awarded. At the ruin pub everybody will be invited for a drink while the winning team will also get a special local award!

Sample missions to complete 0. Find a Hungarian name for your group! 1. Your group should mark the most possible

ruin pubs or gardens on the map 2. Spend the 1 Euro budget buying an

authentic local item 3. Learn the coolest Hungarian sentence (to be

You will see it’s not that hard to complete but it’s not that easy either. You will have to be creative and fast at the same time! What is for sure you will have big fun with your team and when you see the other teams results as well.

Do your participants know everything about finance, banking, sales or purchasing? Here comes the time to prove that they are the best spenders! Everybody receives a light budget: the actual value of € 1. The task is to spend it

during the program on the most typical and funky local things guests will find. Besides this game, participants will have the opportunity

to discover the city with a unique sightseeing, led by our underguides.

The rule of the game is that the purchased item has to be typical to Budapest or Hungary and that you can’t add your own money to the budget, the rest is up to participants – surprise us! At the end of the program your ‘captures’ will be collected and the jury will award the team who will have used the budget the best possible way…

The goal is for team members to realize that budget should be spent together and not individually. Teams usually realize this and are extremely creative and manage to do amazing purchases!
