FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE FOR MORE INFORMATION, CONTACT: April 30, 2013 Steve Martin (317) 758-5201 or Brenda Bush (317) 758-5845 SHERIDAN BLUEGRASS FEVER SET FOR JULY 12-13 SHERIDAN, IND.--Indiana loves bluegrass and Sheridan's BlueGrass Fever delivers a July mix of performers set to appeal to crowds near and far. This year, this regional show on the hillside lawn terrace of Sheridan Veterans Park is set for Fri., July 12 and Sat., July 13. Sheridan is becoming the bluegrass capital of Central Indiana with the advent of the growing mid-summer event on the sloping hillside aside the 1828 George Boxley Pioneer Cabin. Produced by the Sheridan Historical Society, featured performers for the 2013 event include: Jeremy Morris & the Harvest Road Band, Cumberland Gap, Circle City Bluegrass Band, Blue Mafia, The Little Roy & Lizzy Show and Karl Shiflett & Big Country Show. According to Robin Morris, who recruited the bands for the Sheridan BlueGrass Fever Planning Committee, "The variety of musicians will give audiences a package of sounds audiences look for in popular festivals around Indiana. We have assembled ris-ing stars, emerging talents and broad musical appeal to respond to what those attend-ing bluegrass events say they like to see. And we're excited." The Friday night playbill begins with a full line-up of performances starting at 6:00 pm. On Saturday, morning activities feature bluegrass music workshops followed by an open stage performance for amateurs playing with the Thorntown Bluegrass Jam-mers. According to Morris, the workshops are a big favorite and free with price of ad-mission. “Then, Saturday afternoon and evening is filled with performances, including two national favorites: Karl Shiflett and Big Country Show and the stage-stomping Little Roy and Lizzy Show.” Bluegrass aficionados are invited to bring their favorite lawn chairs and enjoy Veterans Park by staking out a shady spot to enjoy the bands rotating performances. Food vendors will be available to provide good eats and lots of sweet treats while listen-ing to good foot-tapping entertainment for family and friends alike. If you like live blue-grass music, it does not get any better than this!
