A WONDERFULAND ECLECTICBODY OF WORK

If the message is an experience, then the message is memorable. People talk about memorable experiences.

Interaction Design

I worked with another student, as part of a design system class, to create this smart phone application to build a stronger relationship between Kisa’s sponsors and their students. The app has features that allow sponsors to archive conversations, track academic progress, make small donations, and introduce friends to Kisa through a game native to Tanzania. Be active.

Research

As part of my internship at Wall Street on Demand, I had to better understand the financial market to design interactions for it. Before a quick online transaction, a piece of paper had to be passed from hand to hand to transfer ownership. I started by researching the certificates behind the stock. Each certificate had an intricate system of information security such as filigree, signatures, and assigned codes that gave it a perceived value.

Motion Design

Video work has been part of my life for a long time. From being a videographer and editor in the newsroom of WJAC to volunteering as a grip on short independent films, I try to use video whenever possible to tell my story.

Now, I am constantly experimenting with animating layered objects and typography to entertain and to communicate prototype concepts.

Branding

As the AIGA student group president, I sought collaborations with other student groups on campus to start building more experience with professionals outside of each discipline.

RMCYCLE, an annual charity auction, benefits the Architecture for Humanity’s efforts in Haiti. Our AIGA group worked closely with ASID to communicate the mission of RMCYCLE and to unify its identity.

Wayfinding

I discovered the sport of disc golf less than a year ago. I noticed that we had some disc baskets speckled around the RMCAD campus. I avoided trying the course because I didn’t know where to start or where to go next. It felt exclusive. Eventually, I found friends who knew the course.

My goal was to create an accessible course easily played and navigated by any skill level and ability. The design includes space for sculpture gardens, xeriscaping, and lunch spaces to create a sense of community.

Book Binding

Sometimes I still prefer to physically have a book in my hand. So, I learned how to bind books from the traditional hard cover case binding to experimental bindings.

The book to the right folds open through a series of canvas hinges to explore 16th century engravings of the human body.

Print Making

Even though a lot can be accomplished digitally, going low tech produces surprises and imperfections that make a work unique and interesting to explore.

Life Drawing sold at the 2009 Art Bash Charity Auction to a private collector. The work is a mono print of ink on canvas measuring 8˝ by 8˝.

All projects will be discussed in greater detail if requested.Thank you for browsing my work.
