Diamond Sponsors

Malcolm & Carol Ann Tallmon

Carolllama Farms

Malcolm and Carol Ann Tallmon are pleased to be second year sponsors for the LFA Show and are avid supporters of this premier event. CarolLlama Farms may have had its true beginning in 1953 where a picture taken at the Fort Worth Zoo shows Carol Ann cuddling a llama. In actuality, my first llamas were purchased in 1984. My goal at that time was to have 30 breeding females – oops, I guess Malcolm was right. I now have a herd of 180. Through all of my years in the business, my first criteria has been the conformation, overall balance and disposition, both in my own breeding program or the llamas that we have purchased. The breedings have produced many ALSA Halter Champions and ROM’s, two Reserve Champions at the ALSA Grand National and many others that have placed in the top ten.

We are very proud of the quality that have produced and would love for you to share in our pride. You are welcome at either Weatherford, TX in the winter or Florissant, CO in the summer.

Keith & Patti Wattigney

PK llamas

PKS Llamas is a division of P.K.’s Mini Farm, LLC. Keith & Patti divide their time between their home in Belle Chasse, LA during the week and their farm, located in Tylertown, MS, on the weekends. The farm was established in the summer of 1991 with 52 acres, a few miniature horses and a couple of llamas. Over the years their farm has grown to 210 acres, encompassing llamas, guanacos, suri alpacas, miniature horses and gaited horses.

The focus of PKS Llamas is to produce quality llamas with excellence in conformation, exquisite fiber and tremendous style and presence. To achieve these goals, they use proven bloodlines from both South America and North America and the expertise of their full time farm manager, Marcelo Sanchez.

Charlie & Karen Stephenson

Flightless Farms

Charlie and Karen Stephenson reside in Tulsa, Oklahoma with their three daughters, Anna, Corinne, Catherine and son, Chaz. The Stephenson family has been active in the llama community for over a dozen years. In the last two years Flightless Farms has become the hub of the well known Suri herdsires: Ballistic, Easy Money, Fireworks and Ekati. E-Line Suri genetics and large, exotic fibered lanuda and suri females have become synonymous with the Flightless Farms breeding program.

The breeding herd residing near their home in Tulsa numbers around 40 llamas, with an additional 70 breeding and show llamas residing in LaVeta, Colorado during the show season and summer months. The Colorado branch of Flightless Farms is managed by Alaine Byers-Holzhauer.

The focus of the Flightless Farm program is producing llamas with substance, size and exotic fiber. Flightless Farms has experienced a banner year in the show circuits of LFA, ALSA and the Futurity venue of Celebrity.

We are proud once again to be a Diamond Sponsor at this year’s LFA, and wish all the exhibitors and consignors the best of luck in Iowa ‘07.

Doug & Sherry Sheridan’s Aloha Llamas is located on a beautiful farm on the high desert in Bend, Oregon. Their herd is rapidly gaining a reputation, as well balanced animals with sound bone structure, graceful movement, exceptional fiber, bright colors with lovable faces and temperament. Their show success validates their philosophy and breeding program. Their llamas are simply magic! [email protected]

Lew & Jennifer McGinnis

Superior Farms

Lew and Jennifer McGinnis, owners of Superior Farms in Oklahoma City, have been involved in the livestock business for a number of years; and their philosophy has always been to raise and maintain or to acquire and breed at the very highest level that they can possibly find or obtain. Actually, the farm in OKC is just one of the businesses owned by Lew and Jennifer McGinnis -- there are numerous companies operating under the “Superior” name employing hundreds of people in various businesses.

While it operates as one farming entity, Superior Farms is actually divided into three separate areas: 1) a registered sheep operation; 2) a pure breed exhibition poultry operation, which is the largest of its kind in North America; and 3) a registered llama herd. Each of these specific areas has managers that are trained leaders in their particular field. The McGinnis’ and their staff have been dedicated to one objective: a total commitment to excellence in each of the various areas of operation.

The McGinnis’ introduction to llamas dates back to Ben Huff, a friend in the sheep industry. The llama operation was started 4 years ago, and is managed by Shawn Norman. Many llama breeders are familiar with Shawn, who is responsible for structuring The Grand Slam Llama Event held in conjunction with one of the most successful llama events in the country, the Celebrity Sale and Futurity. Shawn is dedicated to perfection; that dedication is what brought her and Superior Farms together. Superior Farms is happy to be a sponsor this year for LFA.

Hard Rock Llama Co. began in 1994 when Mike called Wendy from Reno, Nevada to tell her he bought her a birthday present. Her present was two llamas. What he failed to mention was that it was two females with babies by their side bred back for the following year. Wendy had to quickly call their landlord and rent the barn and some acreage on the property. Mandy was thrilled, like her father she is naturally attracted to animals.

Our story is no different than most. Those two females turned into six, then 10, then 20 and eventually a move was necessary so Hard Rock Llama Co. could continue to grow. With a herd of approximately 60 animals, our love for the llamas has never changed. The friends we have met have made our involvement in the llama industry more rewarding. We are

20 2007 LFA Sale

Terms & ConditionsThe following Terms & Conditions including any announcements by the Auctioneer before or during the auction, constitute the entire agreement between Llama Futurity As-sociation, on the one hand, and the bidders at the auction, on the other hand.

. I am a member of the LFA and hereby enter the above registered llama in the LFA Llama Sale to be held September 21-23, 2007.

. I am in good standing with the LFA and have no outstanding debt due to the LFA.

. Enclosed is my check for $500.00 to pay the consignment fee. I understand and agree that this fee is nonrefundable and nontransferable for any reason once confirmation is made of my sale entry. Once accepted, this entry will be reserved for the LFA Sale only and in the event it is sold prior to the sale, I will pay LFA 10% of the selling price in addi-tion to the entry fee. . A minimum commission of $300.00 will be charged on all consignments. If for any reason I withdraw this entry from the LFA Sale other than as certified by a veterinarian I will be charged a $500.00 withdraw fee. . I agree to pay a 10% of the highest bid received whether I sell the llama or exercise my option to have the last bid and/or reserve and buy back the llama.. A selling fee of 10% of the amount of the highest bid received on this entry will be charged. A minimum commission of $300.00 will be charged on any lot selling for less than $2,000.00. LFA will deduct that selling fee from the proceeds of the sale when making payment.. No Substitutions will be allowed without prior approval from the LFA Sale Management.. A minimum opening bid of no less than $2,000.00 will be accepted by the auctioneer. If your llama fails to receive an opening bid of $2,000.00 it will be considered a no sale, and the minimum commission of $300.00 will be charged.. All sales constitute a contract between the buyer and seller of each animal sold. LFA assumes no responsibility, legal or otherwise, in regards to the sale contract.. I understand that no payment will be made to me until such time as the buyer has made satisfactory payment to the LFA and as soon as the buyer’s check clears the bank. As soon as the check clears the bank the registration papers will be sent to the buyer and I (the consignor) will be paid by check less commissions.
