The first edition of SHARE Ljubljana 2019 will have 3 panels: Ljubljana Tomorrow – Large Scale Projects, Facades, and Special Guest Presentation. Special Guest Rainer MAHLAMÄKI, Co-founder of Lahdelma & Mahlamäki will hold a special presentation and debate.

MEET THE SPEAKERS OF SHARE Ljubljana 2019:

Special Guest Architect – Rainer MAHLAMÄKI (Finland) - Co-Founder Lahdelma & Mahlamäki.

Rainer Mahlamäki is a Finnish architect and Professor of Contemporary Architecture at the University ofOulu. He is a partner of Lahdelma & Mahlamäki Architects and served as President of the FinnishAssociation of Architects (SAFA) between 2007 and 2011. Mahlamäki and his partners have received 35 firstprizes and 59 other prizes in architectural competitions in Finland and abroad since 1987. First prizesinclude the Finnish Embassy in Japan, the Espoo Library, and the Chapel in Rovaniemi.

Guest Speaker Arch. Renato RIZZI (Italy) – Founder of Renato Rizzi.

Renato Rizzi is a lecturer of Instituto Universitario di Architettura in Venice. Born in Rovereto in 1951, hegraduated from the faculty of architecture, but as he says – is fascinated by the philosophy. He worked forover 10 years with another well-known architect Peter Eisenman. Rizzi is the winner of many prestigiousarchitectural competitions, including the design of the Palace of Sports in Trento, Italy.

Honorary Guest Arch. Șerban ȚIGĂNAȘ (Romania) – Secretary General of The International Union ofArchitects & President of the SHARE Society.

Serban Tiganas is one of the most well-known names from Romania in the field of architecture. He was thepresident of the Order of the Architects of Romania, institution inside which he has initiated the study ofArchitecture as a profession and of The Policy for Architecture in Romania. He is the Genera Secretaryl ofThe International Union of Architects since 2017.

Burak PEKOĞLU (Turkey) – Founder of BINAA Studio.

Burak Pekoğlu was born in 1984 in Eskişehir and studied architecture in USA and had worked in Denmark,Turkey and USA. He is an artist, designer and architect in Turkey. He founded BINAA I Building InnovationArts Architecture in 2012. Pekoğlu received a Master of Architecture degree at Harvard University, GraduateSchool of Design (GSD).

He had an apprenticeship with sculptor Irfan Korkmazlar, and collaborated with Ronald Lopez in artprojects. At GSD. He worked as architectural designer at some international offices include Skidmore,Owings & Merrill’in (SOM) New York, Schimidt Hammer Lessen’in (SHML) Aarhus and Pelli Clarke PelliArchitects (PCPA) New Haven offices. Besides, he started his academician career in 2014.

Guest Speaker arch. Rene van Zuuk (Netherlands) – Founder of René van Zuuk Architects.

René van Zuuk founded his own office in 1992. Despite the diversity in the designs of René van ZuukArchitects, there are a few constant themes that run throughout. Above all is the desire of both clients andarchitect alike to create „something special”. Early projects, such as Arcam and Psyche, attracted a lot ofattention in the international Architectural scene.

Idis TURATO (Croatia) – Founder of Idis Turato.

He received a number of architecture awards: “Viktor Kovacic” (in 2003, for extension to the building of theFaculty of Engineering in Rijeka, in 2008 for the Great Hall of Pope John Paul II in Trsat, and in 2009 for thekintergarten Katarina Frankopan on Krk island), “Vladimir Nazor” and “Piranesi Award” in 2005 for FranKrsto Frankopan elementary school on Krk island and “Drago Galic” in 2012 for Nest and Cave House inVolosko.

Idis Turato represented Croatia in 2006 at the 10th Architectural Biennale in Venice. With a group of 15Croatian Architects in 2010, Croatia represented the Venice Biennale with the project of the "bargain"pavilion project. The works were published in a series of domestic and foreign books, magazines andprofessional journals.

Mojca GREGORSKI (Slovenia) – Owner and Leading Architect of Kontra arhitekti.

Mrs. Arch. Gregorski received several prestigious awards in Slovenia (3 Golden pencils from Chamber ofarchitecture, Plecnik's medal, two nominations for Plecnik award, nomination for Piranesi award, twonominations for Mies van der Rohe award, many awards in public competitions) as well as abroad. In 2009she was a finalist of World architecture festival (Education) and in 2013 the winner of the World architecturenews for Education-Future projects as well as "Best in class 2013".

In 2011 she received honorable recognition of her works awarded by University of Ljubljana. Thisrecognition is presented to individuals who have achieved international outstanding visibility of theirrealized works and is equivalent to doctorates in the field of theoretical research.

Pako Radovanovic (Macedonia) – CEO of Rado Engineering.

Pako Radovanovic is designer-architect, graduated at Accademia Italiana Firenze – IT. Currently working as aCEO of a family-owned studio Rado engineering in Skopje. Since he started working in 2001 he has workedon numerous different projects from interiors and private houses to commercial and residential buildings.

For his work, he has won the grand prize for architecture for build project in Macedonia, twice once in 2014for the “Sports center Jane Sandanski” and in 2016 for the “ T-House”. He has also won the ASK best interiorin 2001. Participated in numerous Architectural exhibitions in the country and abroad.

Jean-Yves SOËTINCK (France) – Owner of L’acte Lumiere.

Jean-Yves SOETINCK, describs himself as a “Child of the Lyon Lighting Masterplan», of which he admired thefirst illuminations in the city during his studies, he entered after his diploma in a famous Lyon’s LightingDesign office where he has worked on heritage projects of international scope. In 2001, he created his ownlighting design agency “L’Acte Lumière”, specializing in the enhancement of spaces, architecture, andheritage through the light. His approach expressed through his agency name «L’Acte Lumière», aims tomake each project a voluntary and dynamic «Action».

Each lighting project for architectural, landscaping, urbanism, talk with the “Genius Loci”, and must tell astory. A major part of the project is done in multidisciplinary teams with which it collaborates, with the aimof continuing the gesture initiated by day as by night. In parallel to his professional activity, he wishes totransmit his “know-how” and his passion by teaching for several years as a speaker for a young lightdesigner with the license of the IAE «Conception and lighting management» in Lyon.

Matej Vozlič (Slovenia) - Architect Vesna & Matej Vozlič : arhitektura

In 2012, Ljubljana received the European Prize for Urban Public Space. This prestigious award was grantedby the jury for a wholesome solution regarding public spaces along the Ljubljanica River. Next to thefootbridges and the new bridges, the arrangement also included the riverbanks; a process in which theauthorial contribution of Vesna and Matej Vozlič were of significant importance.

Špela Videčnik (Slovenia) - Founder of OFIS arhitekti.

Spela Videcnik born 1971. She studied architecture at the Ljubljana School of Architecture (grad.1997) andalso at the Architectural Association in London (grad.2000). Spela Videcnik is currently teaching on HarvardGSD, Boston, MA. She has been Professor at the MCH in Madrid, ETH in Zurich, RIBA in London, Universityof Beijing in China among others.

Špela Videčnik and Rok Oman established OFIS arhitekti in 1996. Its international team is based in Ljubljanaand Paris. Their academic research combines different interests and curiosities. They investigate Europeanand local Slovenian identity in contemporary architectural language, which includes traditional knowledgeof vernacular buildings into revitalisations, conversions and new build in Alpine Area.

Maja Simoneti (Slovenia) - Landscape architect and project manager Institute for Spatial Policies

Maja Simoneti is licensed landscape architect and spatial planner, interested in public policies andknowledge transfer. She has 30 years of experience in planning and design, she participated in severalinterdisciplinary projects on national, local and EU level, among others in preparation of National spatialstrategy and Master plan for the capital city of Ljubljana.

She is skilled in collaboration and communication and active in advocacy for public participation inplanning and management. In her doctoral, thesis she had linked practice and theory and studied howcomprehensive and inclusive the system of spatial planning and management of public green space inSlovenia is.
