We wanted to learn how the earth moves around the sun.

So we decided to investigate our shadows.

First, we had to stand still with a partner.

Then we drew around people’s shadows with chalk.

After 9:00, we recorded our shadows at 10:00, 11:00, 12:00, 1:00 and 2:00.

So at the end of the day, we had six shadow pictures.

One thing we found out was from 9:00 to 12:00 our shadows got smaller and smaller.

Also from 12:00 to 2:00 our shadows got bigger and bigger.

Also, we found out that our shadows moved anticlockwise.

The shadows are biggest in the morning and at night. The shadows were smallest at

12:00.

Our shadows change because the earth is spinning around the sun.
