    Officersare prepared tonight for a Warriorswin!Ourhot spot areasare Grant and Green, Broadway andColumbus, Coit Tower, and Fisherman’sWharf. I willhave extra officersonpatrol starting around the firstquarter of the game inorder to prevent any problemsat these locations.

    Coffeewitha Cop

     The Department isnow hosting “Coffee witha Cop” meetings. AsI may havementioned in previousnewsletters, Captain Cherniss, formerly of Tenderloin Station,wasthe first to have sucha gathering about a year ago. We will have our meetingonTuesday, June 21, 2016 from8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Caffe Greco, 432ColumbusAvenue. Officerswill be there to have coffee withthe community andhave a conversationabout neighborhood issues. This isa great way to get to knowthe officerswho patrol our neighborhoods.

    Monthly Community Meeting

     Tonight ismy monthly community meeting. The meeting isfrom6:00 p.m. to 7:00p.m. and will be held at the TuscanInn, 425Northpoint. I will provide anoverviewof the criminal activity in the district and addressquestionsor concerns. Thisevening, we will have guest speakersfromthe Fisherman’sWharf Ambassadors, Recology Zero Waste Management and SFSafe Bikes. We will getthroughthe meeting inanhour!I hope to see youthere.

     Thanksto Officers DavidNastari andMikeEllis fromthe Traffic Company, theother day onBroadway fromPowell to Columbus, officerswrote 6 citationsfortexting while driving, 10 citationsfor talking ona cell phone, 2 citationsfor makinga uturnina businessdistrict and 1 citationfor failing to yield to a pedestrianinthecrosswalk. I amgrateful for their assistance aswe work to make traffic safety apriority!

    Congratulationsto OfficerJoshua McFall who wasone of two SanFrancisco Police Officersto receive thisprestigiousaward for his workin apprehending drunk drivers. OfficerMcFall is one of our in-house expert onDUI and worksto make the Central District safe by taking drunk driversoff the street. Asmany of youknow, I

    washit by a drunk driver last October and I believe our workinthisarea saveslives!

    Inthe coming weeks, I will mentionthe youthengagement activitieswe have planned for the Ping YuenHousing Development and NorthBeachPlace.

    Definitions

    Each month Central Police Stat ion f eatures one 

    of its off icers in an eff ort to learn more about the 

    men and women who police our neighborhood.

    This month, we interviewed Of f icer Jared Lovrin,

    a 2 -year member of Central Police Stat ion.

    Officer Jared LovrinwasborninSanFrancisco and raised inthe Bay Area. He attended

    college inUtahat BrighamYoung University, where he obtained a degree inMechanical

    Engineer.

    Officer Lovrinjoined the SanFrancisco Police Academy in2005, following inhisUncle’s

    footsteps. After graduating fromthe Police Academy, he wasassigned to Ingleside Station

    for field training. After completing field training, he wasassigned to Central Stationfor his

    probationstation. Officer Lovrinwas thenassigned to MissionStationfor his permanent

    station. Officer Lovrinworked at MissionStationfor sevenyearswhere he worked Plain-

    clothesand Vice. In2014, Officer Lovrin’sUncle TomLovrinretired fromthe Department.

     Tompassed onhisstar #to Officer Lovrin. Officer Lovrinnow proudly wearsstar #2235,

    carrying onhis Uncle’slegacy.

    InJanuary of 2015, Officer Lovrintookhistransfer and returned to Central Station, the

    stationthat he lovesmost. Officer Lovrinwasexcited to returnto Central Station; he fell in

    love withthe district whenhe worked here onprobation. Officer Lovrinwaited sevenyears

    to returnto Central Station.

    Officer Lovrinworksina sector car. Officer Lovrincanbe seenpatrolling the NorthBeach, TelegraphHill, Pier 39 and Embarcadero area.
