The new market will combine a strong food and drink element to celebrate everything about Southport and the surrounding area, really championing the array of produce available being so close to the coast.

Sitting proudly in the centre will be an impressive bar offering a mix of drink elements; from wine, gin and cocktails to local brewers and craft beers. This has been designed around the seaside theme, a sympathetic complement to Southport.

Around the market permanent food offerings will be mixed with guest food outlets serving local produce and a range of cuisines. This will allow businesses to be flexible to their needs and will create a unique dining and leisure experience in Southport.

From the classic market format to something big, bold and wonderful - Southport Market will be transformed into a food and drink market with event space.

Drawing inspiration from the European culture of social eating, embracing local produce and fresh ingredients – Southport Market will evolve into the type of market culture we have seen successfully established throughout the UK and will quickly become a social hub.

Southport is proud to boast 22 miles of coast, breath-taking beaches, beautiful woodland, tree-lined boulevards, open spaces and traditional seaside attractions.

Add this to a vibrant history, a mix of Art Deco, Victorian and contemporary architecture – and you will see the inspiration for the new food and drink market.

With 9.2 million visitors to Southport each year, generating an economic impact of £592 million, the new Southport Market is an excellent platform for any business to grow*.

Southport also has a vibrant local food scene, being on the coast and surrounded by countryside with a wealth of independent eateries. The new food and drink market will not only enhance this, but also provide a platform for established, new and upcoming businesses to grow.

Southport is actively promoted by Marketing Southport, a partnership between the private sector and Sefton Council’s Tourism Department. This ensures that Southport is an all year round destination to visit for the day, the weekend or longer.

As well as the food and drink offering, there will also be a temporary event space which will allow flexibility to bring in events such as Farmers Markets, movie nights and arts events.

This flexibility will ultimately drive footfall and allow the market to go from strength to strength, benefiting each business inside the market.
