Buses depart for Disaster City – A Windshield Tour “Training First Responders around the World” Emergency responders climb into the mangled steel and glass that was once a bustling passenger train. Behind the wreckage, another search and rescue team uses canines to sift through a building's rubble left from a terrorist attack or natural disaster hoping to find survivors. Families who were moments ago shopping in strip malls are now trapped beneath several tons of steel beams and debris, with friends nearby struggling to survive inside a collapsed movie theatre. Welcome to Disaster City, a place where tragedy and training meet - a place where anything is possible. Located in College Station, Texas, this 52-acre training facility is situated adjacent to the TEEX Brayton Fire Training Field and delivers the full array of skills and techniques needed by today's emergency response professionals. The mock community features full-scale, collapsible structures designed to simulate various levels of disaster and wreckage which can be customized for the specific training needs of any group. Emergency responders from across the globe venture to Disaster City for search and rescue training and exercises.

RELLIS – (Respect, Excellence, Leadership, Loyalty, Integrity and Selfless Service) America’s Newest Center for Transformative Research and Education The RELLIS campus is a collaborative ecosystem built to foster advanced research, technology development, testing and evaluation, higher education, and hands-on career training. RELLIS is currently seeking corporate, government, and educational partners for applied research opportunities. The RELLIS Campus site owns a proud and diverse history dating back more than 75 years. Under a variety of names, the venue, north of the Brazos River and west of the City of Bryan, has played a key role both in protecting the nation during wartime and forging advancements in scientific understanding. The nearly 2,000-acre tract of land, mostly cotton fields surrounding the small, unincorporated community of Riverside, became the Bryan Army Air Field in response to the U.S.‘s entry into World War II. After the Korean War, full ownership transferred to Texas A&M University and was rechristened as the Riverside Campus in 1988. In May of 2016, Chancellor Sharp announced the transformation of Riverside Campus into the RELLIS Campus, named for the six Aggie Core values of respect, excellence, leadership, loyalty, integrity and selfless service. The innovative campus is now a technology and testing research hub that facilitates collaboration between private and public sector companies and provides unique educational opportunities for students.
