REMEDIATION OF CONTAMINATED SITES
EKONTA has successfully cleaned-up hundreds of sites contaminated by various organic and inorganic pollutants in a number of countries. Depending on the character of the contamination and the site-specific conditions, the optimum remediation approach is applied. Two basic kinds of approaches are considered:
“Ex situ“ remediation: excavation of contaminated soil or pumping contaminated groundwater and subsequent treatment;
“In situ“ remediation – decontamination of soil and/or groundwater directly at the place of original occurrence (without pumping and excavation).

Based on the client´s requirement, DEKONTA can mobilize containerized laboratories equipped for a specific activity:
Unique field device enables the operational identification of over 6000 organic and inorganic substances and their compounds, explosives and drugs included.
Up-to-date field analyser providing immediate information on content of toxic metals and other priority pollutants in contaminated soil and sediment.
Flexible and reliable device for in-situ detection and analyses of VOC’s. It combines PID analyser for measurement of total soil gas concentration and a selective IR analyser for the separate measurement of methane, petroleum hydrocarbons and carbon dioxide.

ENVIRONMENTAL EMERGENCY RESPONSE SERVICES
to the environment. The service covers a complex range of activities ranging from the primary intervention focused on elimination of released chemicals migration to total site remediation and recovery. Environmental emergency response can be mobilized 7 days / week - 24 hours / day from the entire territory of the Czech Republic. ENVIRONMENTAL EMERGENCY RESPONSE SERVICES
DEKONTA Company is incorporated in the Integrated Emergency System of the Czech Republic and it cooperates with the Ministry of the Interior via the Headquarters of Fire Rescue Service of the Czech Republic.
The service has also been incorporated into the TRINS system and the Emergency and Security System of the capital city of Prague.

Analytical and microbiological laboratories (Usti nad Labem, Dretovice and Ostrava) are equipped with up-to-date analysers and devices. All activities are managed in accordance with the requirements of relevant legislation, technical standards and methodological instructions. The laboratories are operated in accordance with the require-ments of the ISO/IEC 17 025 standard.
Biopreparation for biotechnological treatment of contami-nated waste and for bioremediation of contaminated sites is produced in DEKONTA’s biotechnological laboratories in Dretovice and Ostrava.
In our technological laboratories (Dretovice and Slany), new methods and technologies for remediation and waste treatment are developed and tested.
DEKONTA spends annually more than 1 million EUR for research and development of new environmental technologies. The company participates in many Czech and EU R&D grants and has established close relations with the leading European universities and research institutes active in environmental protection.

ROOT-ZONE WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANTS
Root-zone wastewater treatment plants (RZWWTP) repre-sent economically favourable and technologically efficient solution for treatment of wastewater from villages and small municipalities and facilities.
Wastewater is discharged to a suitably designed and con-structed wetland where polluting substances are extracted from the flowing water via roots of special plants grown in the wetland.
