Local author Karen Dionne will be at the library to discuss her book, “The Marsh King’s Daughter,” writing and other topics. No registration is necessary.

DON’T FEED THE FATBERG7 PM, Wed, Sept. 25

In autumn 2018, the Macomb County Public Works Office found a 100-foot-long, 11-foot-wide, 6-foot-tall collection of fats, oils and grease in a sewer pipe. Anthony Lewis, the community service manager for the MCPWO, will discuss what the public should know about public works in Macomb County.

THE POWER OF DOING GOOD7 PM, Wed, Oct. 9

Lara Shovlin, founder and executive director of Helping Hands Gifts, will visit the library to talk about how helping your community and society helps you as well. She shares great ideas on how you can give and “do good” no matter your income level or lifestyle. No registration is required.

Drop in to design and build your own Lego creations, or complete the challenges we provide. We will have regular Lego blocks and large Duplo blocks for all ages to share.

Ventriloquist Richard Paul presents a ghoulishly funny, but not scary, Halloween spectacular featuring life-size puppets, magic, special effects and hauntingly hilarious audience participation. Halloween costumes are welcome. Please register every member of your group. Registration begins Oct. 5.

BORN UNDER A GOOD SIGN8 PM, Wed, Oct. 16

Kristy Robinett, a psychic medium, returns to the Shelby Township Library to talk the subject of her upcoming book, “Born Under a Good Sign: Make the Most of Your Astrological Sign.” She discusses why your horoscope shouldn’t rule you, why astrological signs may not be the ideal guide for relationships and the clarity that comes from understanding each sign. Registration opens Oct. 5.
