SEPTEMBER - OCTOBER EDITION 2021 Incredible Impact What kind of impact can a Bible School have on ex-candidates? Amidst the streams of darkness and dilemma of life after completing secondary school education, Logos seeks to offer spiritual clarity and help our students chart a life path. A ray of hope is reflecting among the Logos Scholars who have just attended the Logos Discipleship Bible School (LDBS). LDBS is the program through which we equip students who have completed their secondary school education with appropriate skills as they transition into the tertiary level. The LDBS program is run annually to handle questions that put our ex-candidates at crossroads during this challenging phase in their lives. This year from the 19th to 25th July 2021, 53 scholars who sat for their Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations in April, 2021 got an opportunity to attend LDBS. The camp’s theme was THRIVE which stands for Trust in the Lord, Hold on to the dream, Relate wisely, Invest strategically in yourself, Value add always and Enjoy the journey. To walk through the theme further, an able team of 12 facilitators guided the scholars on spiritual disciplines and the gospel, mindset and attitude, God’s design for our life, expectations verses reality, personal growth and giving back to the community. 5 scholars gave their lives to Christ and 18 rededicated their lives. They have all gone through the new believers’ classes as they await baptism to publicly declare their faith and joy of Christian fellowship. They were commissioned to go out and impact their communities. This is the doing of the Lord and it’s marvelous in our eyes. Join us as we share in the ex-candidates’ testimonials of their LDBS camp experience!

SEPTEMBER - OCTOBER EDITION 2021

Incredible ImpactWhat kind of impact can a Bible School have on ex-candidates?

To walk through the theme further, an able team of 12 facilitators guided the scholars on spiritual disciplines and the gospel, mindset and attitude, God’s design for our life, expectations verses

reality, personal growth and giving back to the community.

5 scholars gave their lives to Christ and 18 rededicated their lives. They have all gone through the new believers’ classes as they await baptism to publicly declare their faith and joy of Christian fellowship. They were commissioned to

go out and impact their communities. This is the doing of the Lord and it’s marvelous in our eyes. Join us as we share in the ex-candidates’ testimonials of their LDBS camp experience!

Highlights from the LOGOS Discipleship Bible School (LDBS) Camp

Unlocking HeartsMy name is Tracy Sheila. I learnt a lot but my striking experience was how I was able to open up about personal matters that were denying me peace. After seeing my peers being frank and honest as they shared their stories, I was able to master the art of resilience. I also made new friends that I now confide in and I can easily share with them about my highs and lows. I was equipped spiritually as my walk with Christ was not so good before. The quiet times each morning restored my walk with Christ. The commissioning on the last day was powerful-not forgetting the nice meals, a good place to sleep and amazing games. I enjoyed the camp experience. Thank you Logos!

Finding Life’s EssentialsMy name is Timothy Okong’o. My time at

the camp was awesome. I must admit that my

expectations were exceeded. I anticipated that

I would understand the Bible deeply, make new

friends and be guided on my life purpose. I was

able to learn about life choices, especially towards

my career path. I now know what a career path

is and what it takes to be there. The camp should

be organized often to help more scholars. I am

grateful to the Logos Scholarship Fund for holding

my hand through my high school education.

Idea Exchange.Greetings! My name is Brenda and I had amazing moments in the camp. Everybody in the camp was friendly and this made me feel at home. One speaker, Reverend Ken Aringo left a unique imprint on me when he talked about depression. Through what he taught us I was able to save a friend’s life back at home after the camp. The connect groups were all I needed at that particular time in my life. People sharing their life experiences was interesting. Pst. Pauline’s story was relatable to my life story and to me this was a divine appointment. I learnt a lot from her story and gladly received the words of advice. The career and entrepreneurship talk by Mr. Madanga was so helpful to me. The meals were so yummy, especially during the dinner date. The camp formed my heart and soul and I am happy and grateful. Thank you Logos!

A Comfortable SpaceMy name is David Ndavi and it’s impossible to

capture in words how profound and pervasive

the camp’s influence has been on me. I made the

most out of the time I was in such a wonderful

camp. Our counselors were so open with us to the

extent of sharing their deepest and darkest seasons

of their lives, which did motivate me and created a

comfortable space-a family! I had a deeper experience

with Christ. The morning devotions restored my

spiritual life. Thank you Logos for nurturing me to

be all round!

FORM ONE ORIENTATIONIt is every child’s desire to join high school and realize their dreams. This year a new team of 49 form one students were ushered into the Logos family after completing their primary education in March 2021.

An orientation was done on 16th July 2021`to students and their parents to inform them of Logos’ expectations and code of conduct.

To impact our community we recruit bright and needy students within 5 Kilometers radius from Nairobi Chapel.

We truly thank God for continually watching over our scholars. We humbly ask you to join us in prayers as we seek to educate our new scholars for Life and Eternity and that God will sustain them in their journey through school.

Thank you for your generous support in shaping the future!

LOGOS, Asante SanaChozi yanitiririka, moyoni naona heri,Mie sitaufunika, kamwe sitaweka Siri,

Hamkuweka mipaka, Wala kwetu mishumari,Himizo kila dakika ,Mwenyezi ndiye sukari,

LOGOS, Thank YouMy heart sheds tears of joy as I smile wide

I will neither keep it a secret nor hideYou gave me refuge in times of storms and flood Logos thank you for paying my school

fees

I will forever spread the news that you are a blessing to me In days of darkness your ray of

light was reflected upon thee Your kindness was manifested and you thought about me Logos thank you for paying my school fees

My dream of becoming a lawyer ever sinceI can see it not sinking but floating over the

seas It is now visible and easily approachable like scenes Logos thank you for paying my

school fees

You drew me close to you and gave me affection Daily teachings about God for me to have faith with action You took responsibility of me and catered for my education Logos

thank you for paying my school fees

To live as brothers and sisters you advised me like teachers In this journey of life that I should show love to others Regardless of the

background that education equalizes usLogos thank you for paying my school fees

As a brother, I pass my gratitude through writing But truth be told no word can

describe my feeling Because in me forever your blessings are pouring Logos thank you

for praying my school fees
