“You can develop a healthy, robust community that lives right with God and enjoy its results only if you do the hard work of getting along with each other, treat-
ing each other with dignity and honor. “ James the Apostle

Simple The simple life. Sounds so inviting and yet it seems so complicated. Most of us know what it is like to fill our lives up with so many demands. But was that God’s
intent in the beginning? I wonder if Adam had a honey do list? Of if Eve was tired of pushing Adam to clean up after himself? “Pick up those fruits you didn’t finish” Did they have to sched-ule a time to meet with God? I can’t imagine being late for that meeting! Over the month of September, I am going to teach about the Simple Life. Back in June, I was challenged in my life to Simplify and came to the conclusion looking into the story of the Good Samaritan. I hope that it will help you to appreciate the value of what a simple life can mean when it is based on what matters most to God. So let’s begin, what in your life can go, to make more room for what is important? You may not want to miss any of these teachings starting on September 1st J! Love and Prayers, PB and Kathy
THOUGHT: You know, that moment when you are down and out and you don't know if you can get back up? When people's criticisms or unintentional insults are weighing you down? What does God think of you then? I came across Psalm 24:15,16a , "Don’t interfere with good people’s lives; don’t try
to get the best of them. No matter how many times you trip them up, God-loyal people don’t stay down long; Soon they’re up on their feet . . . "
This screams so much goodness and patience of our God. First of all, we are good people if we are "God-loyal". As the greatest commandment goes, "Love your God will all . . ." (Luke 10:27). This psalm emphasizes how God protects His "God-loyal" people. When you hear "don't" its for the best and God, through the psalmist, makes it clear to not to mess with His loyal people, why? Because they get back
up. When you are down and out, you WILL get back up. It even says, "no matter how many times.", you will get back up. Not to retaliate of course but to "get back on their feet."
God will get you back on your feet because He has so much in store for us. Next time you feel down and out, remember Psalm 24:15,16. In this together, Tony Mejia

Welcome!
Welcome to Abundant Life! We trust that wherever you are on your spiritual journey, that you will find a place of acceptance and a place to belong.
Join us as we “Do Life Together”. Our faith community is on a journey both individual and corporate. We hope you will find acceptance and belonging. ALCC is not only our church, where we can sense “home”, and for some of us our family.
Church is not a hour of sitting in a pew, but a celebration of our growing faith in God and “doing life together”. No one should have to travel this life alone.

OUR STORY
Each one of us has a valuable story to tell. We may be shy and feel awkward about speaking. We may think that what we have to share is too trivial. Is it actually going to help anyone else? We may struggle to get beyond the shame of our past experiences. But our recovery story can help others who are trapped back where we were. Are we willing to allow God to use us to help free others? Jesus left us with this vital task: “Go into all the world and preach the Good News of salvation from the bondage and penalty of sin to everyone” (Mark 16:15). The apostle Paul traveled the world over telling everyone of his conversion. He ended up in chains, but his spirit was free. He presented his defense (and his own story of redemption) before kings. King Agrippa interrupted him to say, “Do you think you can persuade me to become a Christian so quickly?” Paul replied, “Whether quickly or not, I pray to God that both you and everyone here in this audience might become the same as I am, except for these chains”. Within each personal journey from bondage to freedom is a microcosm of the Gospel. When people hear our story, even if it seems trivial, we are offering them the chance to loosen their chains and begin their own recovery. Come and join us Thursday evenings to share your experience, strength
& hope with others.
Yours in Christ’s service Deb Fisher
