• Next Steps
Long Range Transportation Plan
• Long-term vision for the transportation system
• Multimodal transportation improvements
• 25 Year Horizon (2040)
• Updated every 5 years
• Fiscally constrained (Cost Feasible Plan)
• Addresses regional planning requirement
• Federal requirement
• Adopted by MPO’s Governing Board
Key Issues
• County Revenue Program in Jeopardy
• Becoming more challenging to maintain acceptable LOS– Consuming previously built capacity
– Variability in anticipated growth areas (Fellsmere, South County, Etc.)
– Incomplete grid roadway system
– Spacing of multi-lane roadways
– Limited access to I-95
• Evolving Multimodal Desires

Potential Action Items/Policy Decisions
• Build support (county and municipalities) to extend Sales Tax beyond 2019.– 63 percent of projected local funding is from Sales Tax
– The draft cost feasible scenarios #1 and #3 assume the current 75-percent allocation of Sales Tax revenue will be maintained between 2021 and 2040
• Determine if the 5-Cent and 9th-Cent gas taxes should be implemented.
