2019 World Wrestling Championships

2019 World Wrestling Championships: The 2019 World Wrestling Championships held in Nur-Sultan, Kazakhstan from 14 September to 22 September, 2019. The tournament also served as qualification for the 2020 Summer Olympics, the top six wrestlers from each category earned their NOCs a qualification. Deepak defeated Carlos Arturo Izquierdo Mendez of Colombia in the quarter-finals to become the fourth Indian wrestler to secure a berth for the Tokyo Olympics next year.






Rahul Aware won the biggest medal of his career by bagging a bronze while an injured Deepak Punia settled for a silver after pulling out of the final as India celebrated its best-ever performance at the World Wrestling Championship on 22 September 2019.

Vinesh Phogat, Bajrang Punia and Ravi Kumar have already made the cut for the 2020 Games and bagged bronze medals in their respective weight categories.

India’s previous best show was at the 2013 edition, when the country had won three medals through Amit Dahiya (silver), Bajrang Punia (bronze) and Sandeep Tulsi Yadav (bronze in Greco-Roman).

2019 AIBA World Boxing Championships

The 2019 AIBA World Boxing Championships are held in Yekaterinburg, Russia from 9 to 21 September 2019. Venue was Ekaterinburg Expo. Total Events were 8. Amit Panghal becomes the first Indian male boxer to clinch a World Championship silver. The is the first time India finish their campaign with two medals (Manish Kaushik - bronze medal) at the World Championships.

The 2021 AIBA World Boxing Championships are going to be held in New Delhi, India. This is the first time, this event will take place in India.

Amit Panghal's silver has taken India's medal tally in the prestigious tournament to six medals; five bronze and one silver. On Friday, Manish Kaushik (63kg) lost to top-seeded Andy Cruz of Cuba by unanimous decision as the Indian boxer finished the tournament with a bronze medal to his name.

India won total 6 All Time Medal in AIBA World Boxing Championships from 1974 to 2019.

About AIBA World Boxing Championships: The AIBA World Boxing Championships and the AIBA Women's World Boxing Championships are biennial amateur boxing competitions organised by the International Boxing Association (AIBA), which is the sport governing body. Alongside the Olympic boxing programme, it is the highest level of competition for the sport.

Bangladesh signs agreement with India's Reliance Power for gas-based power Plant in

Meghnahat near Dhaka. An MoU has also been signed with Petro Bangla to set up 500 mmscfd

LNG terminal at Kutubdia Island near Chittagong in Bangladesh. Under the agreement,

Bangladesh will purchase electricity from the project for a period of 22 years at a pre-decided

tariff rate equivalent to Tk 5.85 per unit at a total cost of approximately 8 billion

PM Modi inaugurates first metro coach manufactured by Bharat Earth Movers in Mumbai. Prime

Minister laid the foundation stones for three Metro corridors-Gaimukh-Shivaji Chowk; Wadala-

State-owned Punjab National Bank (PNB) has put up for sale 11 non-performing assets (NPA) to

recover dues of more than 1,234 crore rupees. The lender has invited bids from asset

Modi. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) approved the appointment of Dr. PK

Mishra, who was currently serving as the additional Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister. He

With a vision to have a clean environment, the Himachal Pradesh agency for renewable energy,

Himurja has announced its new program that seeks to deploy 28 MW solar energy projects in

crossing one crore beneficiaries. The PMMVY is a direct benefit transfer scheme under which

notification.
