Cut Here
It’s been a bit of a zoo on West School Street, Huron Street, Erie Street,
and then over on County A/Superior Street, Stanzil, North, Batagowski,
and Anderson Streets. And soon Russell Road and Wheeler Island will
join the party. It sort of feels like the whole town of Three Lakes is
under construction!
It’s felt like a beehive at the library construction site with all the
subcontractors coming and going and things going up and in and
around. Meanwhile next door, the old police/fire station and
community building have come down and footings are being poured for
the new town offices.
Once again, most of the library progress feels like it is happening on the
inside of the building. Lyn, Janet, and I walked around making plans for
signage and bookshelves and the space inside is feeling more and more
like our end goal for a more open, functional, yet still cozy space. I wish
I could share the progress with you, but I also think that the day-to-day
can really feel like it is only inching along, while month-to-month
means the big changes are noticeable.
