Philippians 2:6-8 What a difference the “routine” of Fall would bring if God’s people, all of God’s people, young or old, would go toward each other with a spirit of serving like Jesus did. The definition Webster gives to a work common to the Fall of the year, “routine” is “that which is in accordance with established procedure”. One might say a routine is to operate in a “mechanical performance” or to “follow a sequence of desired instructions.” Desired or not desired, it’s back to school. With the end of the popular vacation season, it is positioning for the highly regarded holiday season and enjoying the colors the Fall routinely brings. Life has its demands for the “routine”. While we Christians live our lives freely, knowing that sure and certain burdens of the sinful life and the debt it brings are lifted in the death and resurrection of our Lord, we also face the demand for faithfulness as we follow Him.
