Prayer Of Adoration

Songs Of Praise & Worship “Blessed Be Your Name”

Blessed be Your name In the land that is plentiful

Where Your streams of abundance flow Blessed be Your name

Blessed be your name When I’m found in the desert place

Though I walk through the wilderness Blessed be Your name

Every blessing You pour out I’ll turn back to praise

When the darkness closes in Lord still I will say

chorus Blessed be the name of the Lord

Blessed be Your name Blessed be the name of the Lord Blessed be Your glorious name

Blessed be Your name When the sun’s shining down on me When the world’s all as it should be

Blessed be Your name

Blessed be Your name On the road marked with suffering Though there’s pain in the offering

Blessed be Your name

Every blessing You pour out I’ll turn back to praise

When the darkness closes in Lord still I will say

(repeat chorus)

bridge You give and take away You give and take away

My heart will choose to say Lord blessed be Your name

(repeat chorus)

“Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing”

Come, thou fount of ev’ry blessing Tune my heart to sing Thy grace Streams of mercy, never ceasing Call for songs of loudest praise

Teach me some melodious sonnet Sung by flaming tongues above

Praise the mount! I’m fixed upon it Mount of Thy redeeming love

Here I raise my Ebenezer Hither by Thy help I’m come

And I hope, by Thy good pleasure Safely to arrive at home

Jesus sought me when a stranger Wand’ring from the fold of God He, to rescue me from danger Interposed His precious blood

O, to grace how great a debtor Daily I’m constrained to be

Let that grace, Lord, like a fetter Bind my wand’ring heart to Thee

Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it Prone to leave the God I love

Here’s my heart, Lord, take and seal it Seal it for Thy courts above

Call To Repentance & Renewal

~ Psalm 139:23-24 ~

“Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my thoughts. Point out

anything in me that offends you, and lead me in the path of everlasting life.”

Song Of Confession “Lord, Have Mercy”

Jesus I’ve forgotten The words that You have spoken

Promises that burned within my heart Have now grown dim

With a doubting heart I follow The paths of earthly wisdom Forgive me for my unbelief

Renew the fire again

chorus Lord have mercy

Christ have mercy Lord have mercy on me

(repeat)

I have built an altar Where I’ve worshipped things of man

I have taken journeys That have drawn me far from You

Now I am returning To Your mercies ever flowing

Pardon my transgressions Help me love You again

(repeat chorus)

I have longed to know You And all Your tender mercies Like a river of forgiveness Ever flowing without end

So I bow my heart before You In the goodness of Your presence

Your grace forever shining Like a beacon in the night

(repeat chorus)

The Words Of The Gospel ~ based on 1 Timothy 1:15 &

1 Peter 2:24 ~

Leader: Hear the Good News: This saying is sure and worthy of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, that we might be dead to sin and alive to all that is good.

Hearing these comforting words, if you sincerely turn from your sins by turning in trust to the Lord Jesus Christ who came to save sinners, I declare to you in the Name of Jesus Christ that you are indeed forgiven!

Song Of Response

“O Great God”

O great God of highest heaven Occupy my lowly heart

Own it all and reign supreme Conquer every rebel power Let no vice nor sin remain That resists Your holy war

You have loved and purchased me Make me Yours forevermore

I was blinded by my sin Had no ears to hear Your voice Did not know Your love within Had no taste for heaven's joys Then Your Spirit gave me life Opened up Your Word to me

Through the gospel of Your Son Gave me endless hope and peace

Help me now to live a life That's dependent on Your grace

Keep my heart and guard my soul From the evils that I face

You are worthy to be praised With my every thought and deed O great God of highest heaven Glorify Your Name through me

Our Confession Of Faith ~ The Apostle’s Creed ~

Leader: Christians, in whom do you believe?

Unison: We believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth.

And we believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; He descended into hell. The third day He rose again from the dead. He ascended to heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From there He will come to judge the living and the dead.

And we believe in the Holy Spirit, the Holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

The Benediction

~ Numbers 6:24-26 ~

Leader: “The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make His face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace.”

Unison: Amen!

New City Centre For Urban Discipleship & Mission: Next Sunday, 6pm Our Leadership / Ministry Training Course continues next Sunday, September 27th at 6pm. This course is open to anyone wanting to think through ministry & discipleship in the context of our great city. More info is available on the table in the foyer & available on our website www.newcitychurch.ca.

Ministry Opportunity: Kid’s Sunday School We will be kicking off our Sunday School program at the end of the month. We are offering 2 classes from kindergarten to Grade 6 for 30-40 minutes after church. We are looking for a teacher and a few helpers for the Grade 3-6 class. Teachers must be members of NCC. If anyone (including the youth!!) is interested in helping, please email Lana Bottomley at [email protected]. Teachers and helpers alternate months and there is no Sunday School on potluck Sundays, therefore it is a commitment of 3 of 4 Sundays every other month!

Community Groups are starting up! The Gospel brings us into relationship with God, but it also brings us into relation-ship with one another as well. Together we apprentice in a new way of being human as we learn from Jesus and follow him on mission.

At New City Church, we value community, and one of the primary ways we do this is through our community groups. Learn more about our community groups by visiting our website and click on the community tab.

To all who are spiritually weary and seek rest, to all who mourn and long for comfort, to all who struggle and desire victory,

to all who sin and need a Saviour, to all who are strangers and want fellowship,

to all who are broken and long for healing, to all who hunger and thirst for righteousness,

and to whosoever would come, New City Church opens wide her doors

and offers welcome in the Name of Jesus Christ.
