NOTES:EVERYONE WHO HEARS THESE WORDS AND PUTS THEM INTO PRACTICE IS LIKE A WISE MAN WHO BUILT HIS HOUSE ON THE ROCK. – MATTHEW 7:24

WELCOME TO CROSSINGS COMMUNITY CHURCH

We’re so glad you’ve chosen to join us in worship today. Over the next hour, we will sing a few songs, join together in prayer, and hear a message that speaks to how truth and faith intersect with our lives today. In a world that pulls us in so many directions, this time of worship helps us remember what is most important as we turn our hearts and minds toward God.

We’d love to know you’re here today, so take a moment to fill out the Connection Card found in this worship guide, which includes a place where you can let us know about prayer concerns and/or questions you might have. Place the Connection Card into the offering plate/basket or into a BLUE BOX, found at each exit. Thanks again for gathering with us today at Crossings!

NEW TO CROSSINGS?Stop by Guest Central in the Atrium today after the service. We would love to meet you!

WANT TO TAKE THE NEXT STEP IN YOUR FAITH?Visit Next Step in the Atrium following the service today. We would love to help you find a class, group or personal spiritual growth plan!

2 4MEASU(RED) INSPI(RED) series, part three (Matthew 7:1-5)PASTOR MARTY GRUBBS [@MARTYGRUBBS]

“Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” — Matthew 7:1-2

“Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?” — Matthew 7:3

Oswald Chambers noted in My Utmost for His Highest that Jesus would say to us as disciples: “cultivate the uncritical temper. It is not done once and for all. Beware of anything that puts you in the superior person’s place ... Stop having a measuring rod for other people. There is always one fact more in every man’s case about which we know nothing.”

Put this card somewhere you will see it each day this week.

WHO (a person, group of people, stereotype) do you have the tendency to judge? WHY do you tend to judge them?

Spend time ASKING God to forgive your tendency to judge these people and groups.

LOOK to God’s Word, being reminded of God’s grace in your own life. Thank Him forthat grace, and ask Him to help you give love and grace to those you tend to judge.

For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with themeasure you use, it will be measured to you. – MATTHEW 7:2
