RCIA The RCIA, Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, is a spiritual journey for those who wish to be baptized in the Catholic faith and also for those already baptized Catholic who would like to receive the sacraments of First Eucharist and Confirmation. Also, RCIA is for those who were baptized in another Christian faith and wish to make a profession of faith to the Catholic Church. Classes for the RCIA will be held Thursday evenings at 7:00-9:00 p.m. in the Religious Education Center, Schoolroom 101, beginning in October. For more information, please contact Ruthanne Swiatkowski in the Religious Education Office at (773) 625-1705.

From the Pastors Desk. Todays readings call for understanding and constant forgiveness from each other. Today, in this spirit, we pray for all of the victims of the September 11th tragedy and for their families, as well as for world peace. That weekend is also our festival weekend and on behalf of the Festival Committee, I would like to ask all of our neighbors for their patience, understanding and forgiveness for any inconvenience and difficulty that they may be faced with due to our festival. I would like to ask for the patience of our parishioners and all of the people who will attend our church on the weekend of September 20th and 21st. Once again, I would like to remind and ask everyone to park on the street. As you already know, every parish and school organizes different festivities and events to raise additional funds for their operation. The festival, which will take place at our parish, will benefit our school. It will also be a time to meet and spend time together. This will be an opportunity for many people to familiarize themselves with our parish and our school. Last Sunday, during the Gospel, we heard the following words: Where two or three are gathered, there I am in their midst. We would like to spend these days of the festival in an atmosphere of Christian love and unity. Our festivals success depends on the weather and peoples participation. Please pray that we may have nice weather during our festival and please plan to participate along with your relatives and friends.
