Quebec Solidarity Week
Soliarity Week coincides with the International Day for the Elimination of Poverty, held
annually in October. The aim of Solidarity Week is to create public awareness of the
plight of individuals in situations of poverty and secial exclusion.
In collaboration with the NDG Food depot and the NDG Community Council, the
NDGSCC is hosting an event which focuses on Quebec’s law on poverty and social
exclusion. Our featured speaker will be Prof. Vincent Greason, a public legal educa-
tion expert who currently holds a Law Foundation of Ontario’s “Community Leadership
in Justice” Fellowship from the University of Ottawa Human Rights Research and edu-
cation Center. His “Snakes and Ladders” analysis of the law will provide an interesting
and engaging perspective of social reforms that are currently underway.
Join us for a community supper at 6:00 p.m., followed by the presentation at 7:00 p.m.
