Why.

• Seoul, the capital of South Korea, has been through dramatic economic growth,

but there have emerged various urban problems such as polarization, aging society,

low birth rate, etc.

• Such various urban problems from the city, densely populated and modernized,

challenges the existing paradigm

Social Innovation in Seoul

• Since Won Soon Park was elected as a mayor, Seoul Metropolitan Government

has prioritized ‘social innovation’ as a methodology of solving urban problems

in Seoul.
