    Sense of Sight- Sight or vision is thecapability of the eyes tofocus and detect imagesof visible light in the retina.

    Sense of Hearing- The ear is the organ ofhearing. The outer earprotrudes away from the

    head and is shaped like acup to direct soundstoward the tympanicmembrane to the innerear.

    Sense of Smell- The nose is the organresponsible for the sense

    of smell. The cavity of thenose is lined with mucousmembranes that havesmell receptorsconnected to the

    olfactory nerve.

    Sense of Taste- Taste is that sensation

    produced when stimuliare taken into the mouthand react with thereceptors of the tastebuds.

    Sense of Touch

    - The sense of touch is distributedthroughout the body. Nerve endings inthe skin and other parts of the bodytransmit sensations to the brain.

    procedure a day before the therapy.

    Make nametags for each patient.

    Create rules and regulations for the

    procedure. Prepare two opposing sets of stimulus

    for each sense.

    own spoon and glass of water. Create an environment of trust and relaxation

    done last.

    Before- Remind the patients regarding the therapy on the

    day of the activity.

    - Prepare the necessary materials needed.- Welcome the patients and arrange them in a semi-

    circular manner. Hand out each patients nametag.

    - Introduce self, state date, time and place ofactivity.

    - Review rules and regulations or lagda

    - Explain the mechanics of sensory stimulation.

    - Show one stimulus for each sense starting with

    the sense of sight.

    - Ask each patient of what he/she saw and

    note response made accordingly. If negative

    response is given, provide proper

    reinforcement.

    - Permit the patients to set the pace.

    - Ask permission from the patients that you will

    be blindfolding them.

    positive reinforcement.
