Are you a Wise Owl or a Head-Burying Ostrich when it comes to that d-word?

IF you’re an Ostrich, you prefer not to think about the inevitable. Being an Ostrich means trusting the fortunes of your loved ones to chance, once you’ve gone, and having no control over what happens to your possessions and who should benefit from them.

TO an ostrich, death is a five-letter word and a load of stigma.

IF, however, you’re a wise owl, you take the time to think, question, and act in order to write a will, and take steps to protect your loved ones, when you’re gone.

WHY BOTHER MAKING A WILL? MY FAMILY WILL GET EVERYTHING WHEN I DIE! WON’T THEY?

WRITING a Will may be something you’ve been thinking about for many years. The reasons for having a Will are many, but, if for no other reason, a Will makes life a lot easier for those you leave behind at a time of sorrow. If you die without a Will (Intestate), your family has to sort out many administrative items and are obliged to the decisions made by law as to who

inherits what, decisions you should have really made by writing a Will.

AS to when you should write a Will, the answer is NOW. There may be plenty of life in you yet, but accidents and illness have absolutely no respect for age. Also, bear in mind that a modern Will is written in such a way that it shouldn’t need much changing, so it’s not something you have to think about often, but only in the event of a major change in circumstances, such as marriage, birth of a first child or divorce.

SO, why do many people put off the task of writing a Will?

EXCUSES: there are many excuses for putting off writing a Will. Here are the most common ones:

1. “WRITING A WILL IS TEMPTING FATE”: One in three adults in Britain have already written a Will - so, if writing one has fatal results, the population would soon be reduced by 18 million people! In fact, the British annual death-rate is surprisingly stable and definitely bears no relation to the number of people who write Wills.

2. “I’VE GOT NOTHING TO LEAVE”: Everybody leaves something. It may not be much, but, surely, that’s even

more reason to make sure it goes to those you care about? Also, it is not just making sure your worldly goods go to the right people. As mentioned, a Will can mean a lot less inconvenience for those left to sort things out.

3. “I JUST HAVEN’T GOT ROUND TO IT”: This is normally because the job doesn’t rate high enough on your list of priorities. If the roof leaks, no matter what you’re doing or how tight your finances, you get it fixed fast! We can honestly say that the vast majority of clients feel great after we have written their Wills.

We often receive comments, such as “What a relief” or “I’ve put it off for years, but, at last, I can rest easy.”

WHAT MOST PEOPLE THINK OR HOPE!

IF you die without a Will, all your money and possessions (your Estate) will be distributed, according to strict legal rules and regulations. These rules are called the Laws of Intestacy. In many cases, the Intestacy Laws distribute an Estate in a way the deceased would not have wanted, sometimes with disastrous results.

YOUR CIRCUMSTANCES will fall into one of the following categories: Married, Cohabiting or Single.

MARRIED: In the event of the death of a married person, the Intestacy rules divide the Estate into shares, with a share going to the surviving husband or wife (the spouse). The amount a spouse can inherit is restricted to an amount set by the Government.

THE POPULAR BELIEF that a spouse automatically inherits everything is simply not true. This is because your nearest blood-relations (children, parents, brothers, sisters etc.) are also entitled to take a share under the Intestacy Rules inherit, with the rising values of Estates, the SPOUSE’S SHARE could be the smallest one.

FACT: If you have not made a Will, even your life insurance policies will not be paid until probate has been granted, unless they are written into trust! (Probate will take many months, sometimes years, to be granted!).

FACT: If your Children are orphaned and you have not appointed a guardian in a Will, then Social Services will decide who looks after them, including allocating them to Foster Parents).

FACT: If there are no surviving members of your family, the whole Estate would go to the Crown (Government).

COHABITING: Thousands of people live together without getting married. Unfortunately, most think that, after a few years together or if they have become a Common Law husband or wife and have same rights as a married person. Let there be no doubt about this. If you live with another person unmarried (including single-sex couples), with respect to finance and inheritance you are known as a Cohabitee and do not have the same rights as a married person. The general term, Common Law, means law-based judicial decisions and custom.

SO, if you are Cohabitee, the information on single people is more appropriate to you.

SINGLE: If a single person dies without a Will, the line of Inheritance can be complicated and can often involve relatives you have never even met!

HERE WE GO... first, you children will inherit your whole Estate - if there are no surviving children, next in line are your grandchildren - if you have no grandchildren, then both your parents - if both have died before you, then your brothers and/or nieces - if none, then your cousins (however far removed) and, if no cousins, everything goes to the Government... phew!

IF you are single and without a Will, I can hear you are thinking: ‘Well, that’s OK, it will go to my children, anyway’). That may be partly true, but what is also true is that it will take months and, possibly, years to sort out your affairs (obtain Probate), and the Solicitors who sort this out will charge THOUSANDS OF POUNDS for their work. This is money that, for the sake of making your Will (£45), you could have left your Children!

Even if you have no Children or close family, many people would want their Estate to go to CLOSE FRIENDS or a CHARITY, rather than the GOVERNMENT OR UNKNOWN RELATIONS.

Listers

Mark WarrenManaging Director,Lister Trade Frames Ltd

A Decade of Directorship at ListersLISTER Trade Frames has always been keen to

recognise achievements within the company, and Friday, April 6th, 2012, saw another milestone worth celebrating.

Ten years previously, Phil Warren became a Director at the Stoke-base manufacturer, after working his way up through the ranks.

‘Starting on the shop-floor and working your way up’ is a phrase that is often used to test one’s resolve, to see whether the individual has what it takes.

This was certainly the case with Phil Warren.

It was April, 1993, when Phil was first employed, in his own words, as “a cutter of straight cills.... extraordinaire! I really did start at ground-level. Working by myself, I remember cutting metre-lenghs of gasket for eight hours a day, every day.”

It wasn’t long before the company recognised that Phil has what it took to progress and was duly promoted to Assistant Manager of its expanding trade-counter.

This, naturally, brought him into direct contact with customers, and it was here that his true calling was realised.

“Phil had a great way of communicating with our customers, usually through his humour and quick wit,” said MD, Mark Warren.

“He quickly built excellent relationships and we decided that we needed to get him out on the road as a salesman.”

As the company’s only travelling salesman at that time, a lot of pressure is heaped onto Phil’s shoulders, but it was a challenge that he relished.

Said Phil: “I really enjoyed being out and about, gathering new business and meeting new people: sales was something that I was really comfortable with.”

As the company grew in reputation and stature, Phil was promoted to Sales Manager, to oversee the development of a troop of salesmen.

“This was something that the company well ahead of the competition,” commented Darren Pusey, Production Director, adding: “Phil was the obvious choice to head up the sales-team, as his commitment and enthusiasm was something we wanted all our sales guys to replicate.”

In 2002, just after under a decade of working with Listers, Phil was asked to join the Board of Directors as Sales Director.

“It was a genuine honour to be asked to join the board,” he stated.

“I’d loved every minute of my various roles at Listers and I was being asked to help take the company to the next level: it took me a nanosecond to think about it before I accepted!”

Remarked Mark Warren: “We were delighted to welcome Phil as a Director, back in 2002, as his dedication to the business had been unwavering since the first day he started.

“Looking back over the last, ten years underlines how right

we were to give Phil the role.”

In his ten years as Sales Director, Phil has helped drive Listers sales from £3 million to over £8 million, and he has used his hands-on experience to oversee the company’s move to new premises, launch its new trade-counter, develop its commercial sales, achieve national recognition at the G-Awards and has helped make Listers the strong and profitable company that it is today.

“If you’d asked me in 1993, where I would be in 20 years’ time, I would have honestly saisd Listers....but I never imagined myself in a Director’s chair,” said Phil Warren.

Everyone at Listers would like to congratulate and thank Phil for all his hard work since the day he first joined the company. Here’s to another ten years!

NEW STOCK ARRIVES EVERY WEEK

‘NO’ to Vetplans & VIP Plans!!AN overriding, ethical policy is paramount at this

acclaimed practice, which has surgeries at Endon and Tunstall.

This is epitomised by the reaction of founding veterinary surgeon, Clive Curry, who castigates the current, ubiquitous phenomenon of Vetplans and VIP Plans.

“This sort of ‘sharp-selling’ is a real problem: it binds clients into corporate practices, because the direct-debit is an extra step to prevent the client going elsewhere, because they feel attached,” he insists.

“The Vetplan is, actually, an annual vaccine that you don’t need anymore, plus some worming-tablets and a spot-on flea-product, and, of course, a pat on the head - all for £15-£20 per month (roughly twice the cost of what you are actually buying!).

“The leaflets look like insurance and mimic pet-plan and pet-protect ones: they are full of ‘sound-bytes’ like peace-of-mind, security, five-star plan, preventative healthcare, but, actually, it’s all nonsense.

“Some of these people really do believe that they are insured - and they also think that it’s transferable!

Remarking that he cannot decide whether it is a matter of “just bad spelling or deliberate disinformation”, Clive Curry explains that these schemes have been brought to his attention by non-client enquiries on several occasions recently, particularly when answering calls out-of-hours.

The clients concerned, he avers, seem ignorant of exactly what they have bought; they appear to be under the false impression that it is a comprehensive pet insurance; and there is a belief that it is transferable between practices and not just within branches of the same organisation.

He adds: “There is an idea that (as someone else’s VIP) they have the right to ring anyone on-call about anything, whenever they feel like it; and, when you enlighten them about what they actually have bought (and what it would have cost, without the

plan), they get a bit cross about it!“AT THE WILLOW VETERINARY CLINIC, WE HAVE

NEVER BEEN INVOLVED IN SCHEMES OF THIS TYPE.”

Special menu is a tasty winner!!A ‘MEAL DEAL’ for senior citizens, priced at just £3.95, is just one of the many attractions currently on offer from new ‘mine hosts’, Pat Kelly and Pauline Bowler, at this imposing town centre pub! For, the couple (who took over at The Bull’s Head just a few weeks ago) are committed to restoring the landmark hostelry to its rightful place in the hearts of Congletonians and visitors to the South Cheshire alike. This month has seen Pauline and Pat introduce a brand-new menu, evening events and improved hotel facilities, whilst, at the same time, investing in turning the pub’s Bridestones Suite into a premier venue for social, family-oriented functions, such as wedding receptions, christening and anniversaries.Featuring the finest ingredients cooked to the highest of standards by Pat’s son and new chèf, Luke, the menu comprises a host of home-made, classic dishes, including such traditional favourites as Sausage & Mash (a trio of thick bangers, made by an award-winning butcher, using the pub’s own secret recipe), Chilli con Carne (served with rice and garlic bread [vegetarian option available]), Gammon Steak (served with two poached eggs), Steak-&-Kidney Pudding and Meatballs (in a rich, tomato sauce), Prime Rib-Eye Steak and ‘burgers (beef, minted lamb and butterfly chicken breast). For the more adventurous, culinary delights, like Poached Salmon Fillet in a rich Dill & Dijon Mustard Sauce (served with creamy, mashed potatoes & aspargus-spears), Minted Lamb Kofta (served on a tortilla flat bread) and Vegetable Gratin (tomatoes, onions, peppers & mushrooms in a rich, tomato sauce), are offered.Naturally, the new menu also features a myriad of bar meals, and you can choose from a range of freshly-cut sandwiches, baguettes, omelettes, jacket potatoes and salads. The Mill Street hostelry has long been a popular, daytime meeting-place for senior citizens; so, Pat and Pauline offer them a special menu, which, catering for all tastes, includes such staple fare as Steak-and-Ale Pie, Fish & Chips in crispy beer-batter, home-made, ‘chunky’ chips and minted ‘mushy’ peas and Chèf’s Pasta (chicken, bacon &mushrooms in a secret recipe sauce, served on a bed of linguini), and is available between 11am and 6pm - for only £3.95!Lovers of the traditional Sunday luncheon can enjoy a superb repast (available from 12 noon to 6pm), with discerning diners able to choose from Honey-Glazed Ham, Roast Beef and Cheshire Turkey, served with ‘all the trimmings’ (roast & mashed potatoes, three fresh market vegetables of the day and the pub’s own Yorkshire puddings) for a mere £5.95 (£3.95 for senior citizens & children). The excellence of the food is matched by the range of drinks, and Pat (who enjoys more than 25 years’ experience within the licensed trade) is dedicated to offering customers first-class cask-conditioned ‘real ales’ and fine wines. The Bull’s Head offers its own barbecue and outdoor seating-area to enjoy the sunshine (fingers crossed!) during the summer months, plus a new, covered smoking-area at the rear of the premises.

There’s entertainent, too, thanks to a weekly disco and karaoke night on Friday, and popular DJ, JJ, playing requests on Saturday evenings.

A Guide To CongletonFestival of four one-act plays

AS ever, Congleton Players have been overwhelmed by the response from writers from throughout the world

(including New Zealand, Canada, New York) to their annual One-Act Play Festival.

The Players have chosen four plays for the festival at a series of readings which were an

entertainment in themselves.

“With so many entries to be considered, there were, inevitably, other plays worthy of production,” said Brenda Conway, of the Players.

“Hopefully, these can be performed at other, forthcoming events, yet to be planned!

“It promises to be a really interesting selection of plays, to make you laugh and, perhaps, bring a tear to the eye; so, please please come along and see for yourself.”

The four plays

are ‘Typo’, ‘Establishing Relations’, ‘How did it feel for you?’ and ‘Escape from Shady Acres’.

A number of Congleton Players will be performing them at Daneside Theatre on Saturday, July 21st, at 7.30pm prompt, and voting for the best play will take place at the end of the evening, with a £150 prize for the winning work.

Tickets, priced at £7.50, are available from Congleton Tourist Information Centre on (01260) 271095 or at the door; for full details, visit www.congletonplayers.com

w i n i n g & d i n i n gMenu’s old favourites & exciting, new dishes will delight you!!

‘MINE hosts’, Roy and Sharon Potter, have come up with their own, delicious ‘take’ on the old saying of ‘having your cake and eating it’!

For, the couple - who have been at the helm of The Wilbraham Arms, Alsager, for the past 17 years - are launching a new menu (created, moreover, with the help of a new chèf) during July, but, at the same time, they want to ensure that customers can enjoy their personal favourite dishes served up on it.

“If people send in their own, suggested recipe for dishes to us and it is used on the menu, they will get a 25% discount, when they order it,” Roy told us.

“We shall be introducing exciting, new items on the latest menu, including fabulous, new salads, but they will be combined with all the old favourites, such as sizzling Thai chicken, steak-and-kidney pie and pudding (cooked in Robinson’s cask-conditioned ale) and traditional fish and chips.”

Refurbished to an exceptionally-high standard in 2010, The Wilbraham Arms features a stunning, granite-topped carvery-counter and a chilled salad-bar which sits perfectly adjacent to the conservatory restaurant to provide the perfect Sunday lunch for any diner.

The Alsager hostelry is, of course, acclaimed for its excellent culinary fare and the quality of its ‘real ales’ (courtesy of Frederic Robinson Ltd.) and fine wines.

However, it also plays host to top-class LIVE musical entertainment each week.

For, the Sandbach Road North venue offers the very best in jazz every Sunday evening, thanks to ‘Willy’s Jazz Club’ which has proved a huge hit with music-lovers over a number of years.

As an additional (and very popular) bonus, each Thursday bring a great line-up of musical talent,

when (starting at 8.30pm) the duo of Jonathan Kent and Roy Manhattan (AKA pub landlord, Roy Potter, himself a former professional entertainer) provide the evening’s entertainment.

Multi-talented Jonathan has performed in Miami, Bermuda and Marbella, and, accompanying himself on his own keyboard instrument, plays a huge range of music, with his remit taking in standards of the ‘30s, ‘40s and ‘50s; classic songs (as written by Cole Porter and George Gershwin and made famous by the likes of Frank Sinatra and his ‘Rat Pack’, Nat King Cole and Ella Fitzgerald); and ‘Big Band Swing’ and Ballroom, plus Pop, Rock ‘n’ Roll and Blues hits from the ‘50s to contemporary numbers.

Jonathan’s wealth of experience within showbusiness includes not only television and radio appearances, but also many years as an entertainer playing on larger, more sophisticated cruise ships (NCL, Costa and QE2).

CITY DOGS HOMEJULY, 2012, marks the 22nd anniversary of this remarkable, local animal welfare

organisation! However, over-worked, hard-pressed staff and volunteers at the City Dogs’ Home, Bucknall, in Stoke-on-Trent, are going to be far too busy to celebrate this laudable ‘birthday’!

For, they just know that things will be more hectic than ever. Why? Because of the annual problems caused by the Summer holidays (and the resultant overcrowding of the home’s boarding-facilities). “Yet again, we have to emphasise that people must ensure that, when they go on vacation this summer, their pet is either properly boarded or left with responsible people whom they can trust to look after him or her,” explained Vickie Phillips, who has been Manageress for the past 19 years.

“But, of course, before that, people should make a key decision: if you do want to purchase a dog, make sure that you have already been on your summer holiday, and, then, buy one after your return.

“Another, major problem for us here concerns ID-chipped dogs; now, this idea is, of course, great and we’re all behind it.

“Unfortunately, too many people forget to change the details when they move to a new address or sell their dog to a new owner.

“Obviously, this causes us tremendous problems here at the Dogs’ Home; for example, we had a dog brought into us, and its original owner was located at a South Wales address!

“This sort of thing causes chaos here: people always remember to inform people about their new address, but, all-too-often, they forget to do the same for their ID-chipped dog.”

Vickie urges readers to be a responsible pet-owners during the annual Summer vacation-period.

“Unfortunately, far too many (and this is true, year after year) are not: they don’t

think about planning ahead, by having their dog cared for by people whom they can trust or having them professionally boarded,” she told us.

“They just take off on holiday, and, at the last moment, simply turf their pets out or leave them with unreliable friends, relatives or neighbours, who clearly aren’t bothered about the dogs and, needless to say, let them down.

“A lot of the animals we are receiving (and they are coming in a lot faster than they are leaving!) are between five and six months of age; they haven’t been vaccinated and, therefore, cannot be placed in boarding kennels, but people are not prepared to forego their holidays - it’s a vicious circle!”

Helen provides a friendly, professional servicePODIATRIST, Helen Richards brings fifteen years’ experience of treating people’s feet to her new, clinic-based podiatry and chiropody service at Baddeley Green, Stoke-on-Trent.

As bipeds, our feet are in constant use and, as a result, often suffer considerable strain which may cause pain and even injury (a fact of which many readers are, doubtless, aware!).

You should never ignore minor foot-problems: they may not seem to matter very much at the time, but can become worse, unless you seek proper attention and treatment.

At appositely-named Heels & Toes Podiatry, Helen offers a comprehensive package, covering all aspects of foot care, encompassing ingrowing toe-nails; treatment of verrucas; insoles; fungal nails; and general chiropody (including nail-cutting, hard skin and corn-removal).

“The treatment takes about thirty minutes, and is finished with a relaxing foot-massage with cream,”

explains Helen, who qualified from the University of Salford with a BSc(Hons) in Podiatry in 1998, and, then, worked for the NHS for the last, fourteen years, when she gained invaluable experience, treating a wide range of problems affecting the foot.

At this HPC (Health Professions Council)-Registered clinic, you are assured of a friendly and professional service from Helen, a member of the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists.

Located at 76, Baddeley Green Lane, Baddeley Green, Heels & Toes Podiatry offers wheelchair-access, and parking is available, directly in front of the clinic’s premises.

To make an appointment, simply telephone Helen Richards on (01782) 538792 or 07791-195242.

Based on Richard Gordon’s 1952 novel (based on his own experiences), the play (co-written by the author and Ted Willis) follows the fortunes of Simon Sparrow, a medical student who has just begun a five-year internship at St. Swithin’s Teaching Hospital, in London.

When Simon has to leave his first choice of lodgings to get away from his landlady’s amorous daughter, he ends up with three, amiable, but less-than-shining, fellow students as flat-mates, including work-shy Tony Grimsdyke (Joe Pasquale).

Towering over them all is short-tempered, demanding chief surgeon, Sir Lancelot Spratt (Robert Powell), who strikes terror into his inadequate undergraduates.

Powell and Pasquale are joined by Gay Soper (‘Lend Me a Tenor’) as Matron; Emma Barton (known for her three-year career in ‘Eastenders’ and playing Roxie Hart in the UK tour of ‘Chicago’) as Vera; and Tom Butcher (who was PC Steve Loxton in ‘The Bill’ for seven years).

The play is brought to life by award-winning director, Ian Talbot, artistic director at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre, with many directing-credits to his name, including ‘The Yeoman of the Guard’, ‘High Society’, ‘The Pirates of Penzance’, ‘Anything Goes’ and ‘Lend Me a Tenor’.

Taken from Richard Gordon’s novels, ‘Doctor in the House’ was the most popular box office film of 1954, and this success spawned six sequels and a popular television series.

The play runs from Monday, July 2nd, to Saturday, July 7th, at 7.30pm, with 2.30pm matinee performances on Thursday 5th and Saturday 7th.

Tickets can be purchased from The Grand’s box office on (01253) 290190 or (01253) 743232 for group-bookings.

Access to the hotel is via its wheelchair-friendly, non-slip ramp or by three, small steps to the left of the main front-door.

The main front-door and inside-door are 44 inches in width, giving plenty of space for wheelchairs to pass through, with a metal lip making it easy for wheelchairs, scooters and pushchairs to cross both doors.

Once inside The Brincliffe, the hallway is well-lit 24 hours a day, and the ground-floor is all one-level, giving wheelchair-access to the Bar Lounge, Quiet Lounge and Dining Room.

The ground-floor comprises two double-bedrooms, one twin-bedroom and two single-bedrooms, all accessible by wheelchairs.

The centrally-heated bedrooms feature tea/coffee-making facilities, digital ‘freeview’ TV-sets with remote-controls, radio-alarm-clocks, hair-dryers, wardrobe, dressing-table, bedside cabinets and reading-lamps, plus toilet, sink and shower (each of which boasts a ‘grab-rail’, low-level shower-trays and non-slip flooring).

How to be a domestic ‘stain-buster’WE all know that domestic soft furnishing is liable to be besmirched by all sorts of ‘nasty stains’!It is, of course, imperative to act quickly (and not to use hot water or soap, since these can ‘set’ many stains).

Try cool water or soda-water and dab with a paper-towel.Alternatively, mix 50ml of bioliogical detergent in five litres of luke-warm water and apply the foam with a sponge: if that doesn’t work, identify the stain and tackle with the appropriate removing-agent. For those ‘old suspects’, wine, ink, newsprint and red juice, use milk, applied with a sponge, and, then, remove excess-milk with washing-up liquid.Even worse are ‘old’ wine, coffee and tea-stains; so, moisten the area with water and, then, dampen with glycerine, rubbing in with your finger.Another solution is to mix half a teaspoon of borax substitute with a tablespoon of water and drip over the stain; when it turns black, rinse with cold water. You can remove blood-stains with a 3%

hydrogen peroxide solution and apply with a clean, white cloth.Grease-spots can be eliminated by using diluted washing-up liquid, but only add a drop of it to the water (otherwise, you will spend an eternity getting rid of the excess-bubbles!).Alternatively, for grease-spots on delicate silk-upholstery, dust with cornflour, leave for ten minutes and, then, brush it off with a dry, clean cloth. For crayon, lipstick and other tough stains, use WD40; however, do not apply directly, as this will leave stains, but with a cloth.Remove left-over grease with washing-up liquid (this method is also suitable for removing marks on walls).

Paul & his team are just a ‘phone-call away!!

FOLLOWING late-May’s much-appreciated ‘mini-heatwave’, most of us are looking forward to a summer which actually meets expectations in 2012.

Unfortunately, many householders will currently be in a state of panic about the effect that long hours of sunshine will have on visitors’ impressions of ‘chez nous’!

For that is the question: after months of wintry and spring gloom (when darkness covers up a veritable multitude of sins), is your house or flat able to withstand the effect of bright sunshine, which highlights every aspect of the rooms?

Unless every aspect of your home is pristinely clean and thoroughly ‘ship-shape’, prying eyes can detect a host of housekeeping flaws!

The answer lies in immediately contacting Paul Daley and his staff.

Readers seeking a solution to any domestic cleaning and/or ironing problems, should contact Maid2Clean, which offers HUNDREDS of staff for you to choose from!

Maid2Clean started trading in 1993, and opened its local, independent office in Stoke-on-Trent twelve years later in 2005.

This is a franchised business, which means that it has experience, security and support of a large organisation, whilst maintaining the ‘personal touch’ on a truly-local basis.

Explained North Staffordshire franchisee, Paul: “Since this office opened, we have gone from strength-to-strength, and, now,

supply cleaners to hundreds of homes in this area.“Much of our new business now comes from

recommendations from existing customers who are very satisfied with our service.”

People are, naturally, wary of of letting unknown house-cleaners into their North Staffordshire homes.

That is exactly why Maid2Clean ensures that customers benefit from communicable, friendly cleaners who are (importantly) honest and reliable.

“Our cleaners are carefully vetted, interviewed in their own home and chosen not only for their cleaning ability, but also because they are friendly, trustworthy and honest,” said Paul.

“They are very flexible about what they will do: in addition to carrying out all the usual cleaning-tasks, such as hoovering, polishing, kitchens, bathrooms etc., they will also (if required) perform jobs, like ironing, cleaning interior-windows and oven-cleaning.”

Many clients, who book the business’s house-cleaners for a North Staffordshire ‘blitz-clean’, later have them on a weekly basis - with Maid2Clean, you get far more than the usual house-cleaning that other agencies offer!

“We insist upon being both consumer- and environmentally-friendly,” said Paul, adding: “When house-cleaning, our staff arrive without vans, and all materials are provided by the customer - meaning trusted, consumer-friendly products.”

You can telephone Maid2Clean on (01782) 850812 or email: [email protected]; readers can also visit the website: www.maid2clean.co.uk/northstaffs
